I was wondering where does a person buy bottled liquor in Sosua?
I will be there in 2 days and I would like to buy some good Cuban rum.
Thanks in advance.
Check out Playero Supermercado. Don't know if they specifically have Cuban Rum, but you will find Brugal (Dominican Rum), as well as rows and rows of liquor!

I am practically TT these days but my alcoholic friends mainly seem to patronize Super Super, a liquor store halfway between the main strip and Passions. Walking to Passions it is on your left. Suggest you try some of the better Dominican rums. Very good and cheap compared with imported stuff.

FYI" Bacardi was originated in Cuba, but was relocated to Puerto Rico as they fled Castro. Not to mention that there is an embargo against all Cuban products in the US, so you can't buy them at home. You Canadians and Mexicans can, but no one in the continental USA can purchase Cuban products. Just like Cohibas are the finest cigars in the world, so too Havana Club is widely considered the finest rum in the world. Now this is always a matter of opinion, but I am sure that this is not the first time you've heard Cuban Rum and cigars being referred to as the "Finest". It's the islands perfect blend of rainfall, altitude, geography, and the richness and alkaliniti of the soil and water that create the perfect environment that is condusive for both Tobacco and Sugar Cane. This balance is so delicate, that even slight variations in altitude, rainfall, and alkaliniti from even say oh. The neighboring island. Can have great effect on the flavor of both products. Besids, I can buy Barcelo or Brugal at any corner liquor store in miami, but " Real Rum" is indeed a special treat that should be taken full advantage of. Just my 2 cents. Why do you think Castro hasn't let it go for 60 years. LOL. He knows what he's got;" The Pearl of the Caribbean".
Any help you guys can provide is greatly appreciated. I'm just looking to try something different out and compare it to Rio and I want to have the best possible time doing it. Rio, especially during it's prime, could not be touched PERIOD! I'm hoping Sousua is on that level. Thanks fellas.
Thats your first mistake right there! Trying to compare any other city in the world to Rio, is a waste of time. I can tell you with 100% certainty, You will NEVER find a girl in the DR who can fuck with the women in Rio, especially in Sosua. Just won't happen, get it out of your head! What you will find is a number of 6-7 and maybe a rare 8 walking around. You have to lower your standards when you hit the DR, don't go there hoping you will find what you are accustomed to in Rio.
Rio has incredible women for sure and is hard to match. IMHO Classocos any night of the week will provide you with what you want at a price that will make you smile. The chicas are dressed to impress and are ready to rumble. There are plenty of women in the place many are 8s and over. During the day girls are strolling but they are not the most beautiful but can provide great service. I reccomend trying a few haitian chicas. The ones I had fucked like machines. (great) You will find what you want but you will have to look a little harder.

You will be disappointed.
I'm about 10 years away from retirement, unless something unforeseen happpens. Anyway, since you live there I'd like to know how I could live there with about 2500 a month US? A nice apartment, drinking out on the town two or three nights a week? From what I've seen online San Cristobal is on the ocean, are there nice beaches? Is there p4p or would I need to find a novia? Thanks for contributing to my research!
With 100k pesos per month you will live like a king here. You will be able to eat out every single day 3 times a day, you will be able to drink in town 7 times a week. Life is cheap here compared to the US or Europe. A bottle of small presidente costs me 50 pesos, a grande 65 pesos, a jumbo (1 liter) 100 pesos, a bottel of water 10 pesos, a bottle of coke 15 pesos. You will get a decent meal for 150-200 pesos. You can rent out a decent apartment for 6k pesos+. There is no beaches in the city of San Christobal, but the beaches of najayo and palenque are a 20 minute drive away. There is p4p available in San Christobal behind the baseball arena, an area which is not considered to be safe. Once you live here, you will not have to deal with hookers.

Most Girls Want $250-$290 for a decent fuck. Damn I hope the Brazil Real crashes, I miss fucking nice sweet asses, And what I love about Brazilians is that they generally love sex,
Its not like when you go to DR, the chicks are rushing talking about no leche papi, Brazilians also want it in there ass more than there pussy.
This is my report from my recent trip to new garden it will not have photos but it will give my honest insight to the place. I aarived at new garden late as the plane had a engine problem in the uk and was grounded for several hours. When we pulled up outside I thought how am I going to get around this place as it had a few steps in places. I was given a room on the ground floor as promised right by the pool no 02, the bed was huge, just as well really it had four of us in it later in the week. The aircon was great but the bathroom was a hazard for me especially when the floor was wet, all I wanted now was a chica for the night so I went to the bar and said hello to rafael the barman, I was approached by a chica marlene, she had a pretty face and her tits were almost jumping into my hands, as her shirt was having a problem restraining the ample size, she was not really what I was looking for (a bit bulgy around the waist) but hell I was tired, I took her to my room had a fantastic shag got smothered by her tits and slept like a baby, woke up to a great smile and blowjob. Her smile got bigger when I gave her a bag of second hand size12 womens clothes all good brands spent half an hour with her jumping all over the bed trying them on was good to see these big tits being pushed into an ill fitting shirt, I thought a few times she was going to fall off the bed, later she left and I went for breakfast (to be continued)

Azazel
Since you guys are on the rum topic, does anyone know where one can find Haitian rum (Barbancourt specifically) in Sosua. I've checked the liquor across from the bank on Pedro Clisante with no luck. I've even ask the Haitians in and around Sosua to no avail. I don't mind drinking Brugal or any other rum for that matter it's just that they give me a killer hangover, and fucks with performance the day after.
As always to everyone else, much respect and happy mongering. This site is truly amazing. Can't wait to get back but currently stuck working for the man so I live by your reports.
Thanks again.

I lived in a few very lowly 3rd world countries and tried to understand the peasant economy mentality (As I arrogantly put it at the time with my 1st world ideas). Then one day in Africa in a very very poor part of town I walked through the bad slums. What a fucking eye opener. Years later in relatively better off Morocco I used to live in a rich area in a penthouse. Every day a man with a tiny little Donkey "Le Petite Ane" and I mean tiny, would drive by sitting on top of a HUMONGOUS trailer piled 12 foot high with cardboard and metal waste etc. The poor scrawny runt of a donkey looked like he would drop dead anytime soon. Anyway;
One day I watched this driver beat the sheet out of the little donkey and I got really angry. I went to my local store and bought 3 huge packs of carrots to feed this tiny donkey and waited the next day until said donkey and driver came by my street. The cart stopped, off got the driver to pick up some copper wire and cardboard. I went over to feed the donkey. Back races the driver. He grabs the carrots from my hand and demands the other packets I have, threatening me at the same time with a huge stick (think cricket / baseball bat size). The driver wanted the carrots for himself. I was about to get into it with the driver when my security doorman grabbed me and explained the situation. The driver was so poor he barely ate at all, so the carrots were a luxury.
Next day, I went and visited the slums of Casablanca and the shanty town area, armed with carrots, potatoes, rice and footballs for the children. Even in a supposedly rich Arab / African country I have never seen such poverty. No water, no power, no food, no hope.
In DR, MANY people are in this situation. Hence, great guys like Albert Pujols spend so much money and effort trying to give these people living there a better life.
I never begrudge a working girl for what she does or why. I know rich Upper East Side New York girls who love fucking and love the easy money and I know poor, mentally disturbed African girls exploited in Vegas who do it so that their pimp doesn't slash their face, murder them and their kid / s, and dump them in the desert.
And in DR many of these ladies are nice, friendly, great company. If they steal from me it is GENERALLY because they effing well need the $$$$. I do not debate why but they need it more than I and I forgive them whatever their post, in this game of life.
The op's question was specific to San Cristobal. Answer (s) seem to generalize the entire country. I've been to SC many times and a small town near it where my girlfriend was from. It has the same name as another city in the country but one is on the map and the other isn't. As per the original inquiry, assuming you are white, you will be the only white guy within 5 miles of where you contemplate living at. Just not many around. I never saw one in several trips there. In all of my trips there though, I never had a problem. But if you want to hang around some gringos just for some sanity, you won't find many in that area of the country.
I do agree however, unless living in an upscale area, on that kind of money you can live very well.
7 days locked up in NG prison, or NG heaven?
Sounds like things started out well for you. Could that be the same Marlene that was gone forever and a day to Panama? If so, she is a real sweetie. If not, would you recommend this other Marlene?
Looking forward to the rest of the reports!
