Jakarta

Dear all,

I have just recently shifted to Jakarta. I had my first experience at Grand Kimochi Cempaka. However it was a rushed decision and I couldn't spend much time deciding which babe to go for.

Is there an online blog / portal where the names and photos are listed for selection? And what is the usual "Tip" for a full-service menu? I paid around 400,000 to the girl inside the room. Was it ok, less or more? This was over and above the IDR 250,000 I paid for the room at the reception.

Please do let me know bretheren.

Thanks,

LB.
Anyone doing drugs in Jakarta is just asking for trouble. If that's your thing and you want to take the risk, by all means, it's always yours to take, but these S. E. A. Are drugs enough for me. Walking around is being barraged by an insane amount of auditory + visual scramble. Not sure why anyone would risk serious bad news.

I love this forum. Joining it was the best thing I've ever done. Soon, I'll be getting out of the frigid, cold, disgusting and. E. China, and heading south!

I'll be in and out of Jakarta / KL starting in June, and can hand-hold newbies or be a wing-man / chiong buddy for a small fee + one service paid. I consider this a whole night deal, no hourly stuff, and I will not waste your time. I love both scenes, deeply. I think they best Thailand if you do it right.

I'm also beginning a private lifestyle documentary biz, seeking clients to follow and professionally photograph their fun. This can just be casual shots (Hey, Ma / Wifey! Or more serious. Whatever is needed.

English only, sadly, but that's the rub.

If anyone's interested, feel free to message me, and we can chat. I am dead serious about getting this going. I'm a low-key, moderate drinker (nothing too sloppy) who thinks of himself as funny, isn't a jerk, very patient, and is just looking to have some serious fun.

Best,

TS.
Interesting. One of the two mongering behaviors that is as risky as playing with hard drugs is profiting from sex. (the other is the idiocy of messing with with [CodeWord902] girls). Examples of "tour guides" who have found themselves in jail can be found throughout Asia, Latina America, Africa, ect. So, while you are warning others about drugs, I am warning them to be very careful of such offers, and YOU, if you really have not thought it through. Jakarta is not the place to fuck with this.

One sour note: the cashier first showed up an amount of 765,000 on the electronic machine to which I didn't react; then she showed a new amount of 76,000 and asked for 100 k to which I asked for the bill. Then she showed 48 k as a new amount. Which made sense to me (40 k entry + 8 k for one beer) . It looked like she was trying to get away with a larger amount if I was not paying attention / was drunk.
I must have been getting hosed because I certainly paid much more than 8 k rupiah for a beer at classic. I was never told of any entry fees on my 4 visits last week. Maybe Smoothy can clarify the pricing at classic.

Found this in my searching. Not exactly what you want but may be of interest. Others may also be interested.

There is nowhere in Jakarta where you can get a beer for 8 k IDR, which is US $0. 80 or Aus $0. 75 or so. 75 cent beers are a memory from my long-ago youth or some special. I also don't know about an entry fee -- but it's been donkey's years since I visited -- and I suspect the 40 K IDR may be a minimum charge. Too much confusion about payments in the report. TTG.
"One sour note: the cashier first showed up an amount of 765,000 on the electronic machine to which I didn't react; then she showed a new amount of 76,000 and asked for 100 k to which I asked for the bill. Actually it was 48k for the beer (which is pretty good) as the entrance fee is waived if you get a girl. But on my last trip late last year I did notice that Classic tried to up the bill a few times if you didn't pay attention.
True, true. It's if you don't buy anything at all, they charge you the 40k. It was likely 48k for the beer. I'm not sure how it ended up being 76k total though unless the beer was a Corona, but they waive that entry fee once you take a girl. Would have to see a photocopy of the receipt. And for 76k, it's not worth the time taking the photo and posting it anyway. LOL.

If you don't want to have to spend a dime, you can go to Bunker on the ground floor. I believe they have a 50k entry fee, but if you are white, they don't charge you anything if you don't spend anything. They tell you about the 50k entry fee, but when they see you have spent nothing when you check out, they don't charge you. It seems that entry fee is just for locals (my local friends always have to pay that 50k even if we walk in together and walk out together). I'm not guaranteeing that Indians or non local Asians can go there without paying, but I do know white guys can. I've always found it odd that they don't force that cover on everyone since Bunker was the place with the better nude dancers and they were continuously dancing nude while the 2nd floor only had dancers intermittently. Now, of course, there are no nude dancers anywhere. Then again, I think I have only been in there 3 or 4 times where I was charged nothing, and one of those times I gave the cashier a 50k tip anyway because she was smoking hot and I already had the 50k out. Every other time I spent well over that. However, the first two times I spent nothing, so I know it had nothing to do with my spending money in the past.

I remember when My Bar in Blok M first opened, it was packed with cheapskate locals (guys) who would just sit in there all night spending nothing. You couldn't even move in the place and it was uncomfortable. I stopped going in there due to that. Then My Bar started charging a cover for only the local guys. It was a huge improvement in the ambience of the place. Personally, I'd like to see places like Hotel Classic (and every other place in town that has hookers and dancers) charge at least a 100k entry fee (that is waived when you spend at least that much). If they did that, I'd start going to those places more often. As it is now, I prefer going to those places in the afternoon only, before they are packed with loitering locals.

I sometimes feel guilty because the entrance fee is not minor to many locals. Then again, it is like the clubs in NYC during the days when clubs can choose and pick who goes in and who has to pay. It was not insignificant to me but my friend (s) usually picked up the tab. I get spoiled in Asia because one can usually talk ones way out of paying because an expat is a desired client and probably willing or can to spend. Saw one fat expat whale last week getting xaped by girls asking and getting LDs. I was going to walk over and tell the whale to slow down but I was closer to and knew the BGs. LOL

Hotel recommendation near action?
Firstly, a lot of people in high positions in Indonesia are essentially uneducated. Sure they might have a degree from some local university but that doesn't count for much. A lot of them have never travelled which is courtesy of a lot of our western countries being so mean spirited in denying young Indonesians that visa to travel and soak up alternative ways to look at things and so they are quite limited in their idea of how to change things, and thirdly if you want to rise.
Alas if only what you describe were so we would have little to worry about, but it isn't. The type of person you describe certainly exists but not at national decison-making level. The guys you describe run some mid level provincial office and their decisions rarely if ever effect most of us here, the power they wield is minimal to the likes of us.

That, however, is not the case at national level where the ever-more conservative turns in state policy are being made. Even at Jakarta level the caricature you describe is simply not the case. Anies Baswedan is extremely well traveled and educated in the US and Japan, his deputy is equally well-traveled and educated, also in the west, he is a hugely successful businessman.

The House of Representatives is filled with men just like them, there are probably more multi-millionaires in the House than in most western parliaments, by a long chalk. These men travel overseas all the time and they don't travel on budget airlines or stay in AirBnB. The same applies to the chiefs of the Army, Police and Drugs squad. Tito Kurniawan of the national Police has a Phd from the University of Singapore, for example, these men own watches worth more than our houses.

These are the men cracking down on our hobby, not some kampung subdistrict chief. They don't worry because unlike us schlubs you won't find them haggling with a mamasan in Classic, they fly their women in from Europe and put them up in the five-star apartment blocks they own, they don't worry about a booze ban because they don't buy their Bintang in Carrefour, they own vineyards in the South of France.

These are serious men, if they have decided that the future of Indonesia will be a lot more proscribed in terms of freedom (our freedom, not theirs obviously), then I fear that is how it will be.

Did you RTFF? Here is a good one from Smoothy recently.
Hotel recommendation near action?
.
Better place to be to go where? It depends where you want to go. I thought you said you wanted to go to Malioboro and CJs. Alexis is so far north that it's basically in Ancol. The further towards Ancol you get, the further you are away from anything else in Jakarta other than Ancol. (Alexis is closed.) If you intend on spending your time at Golden Crown, Orchardz spa, Club 36, Penjay, Hotel Travel, or Lokasari, then it might make sense sacrificing quality of hotel and staying further north. But Malioboro, Hotel Classic, Emporivm, and places like CJs and BATS are further down and you can get a nicer hotel.

If you want to go to Malioboro, you can stay in a very nice hotel at Harris Vertu right across the street from Malioboro and can walk there. If you want to go from there to Hotel Classic, you just turn left on Jalan Juanda and then left again and you are there in a few minutes. If you want to go to CJs, that is way on the other side of town regardless of where you stay in North Jakarta. There is a bus station right in front of that Harris hotel and you can take the bus to Kota station in about 5 minutes if you so desire. Keep in mind that if you want to stay near Mangga Dua mall (in between Alexis and Golden Crown and the true definition of the "Kota" area), all of the hotels in that area are shitty relative to a hotel like Harris Vertu. It's not as if Malioboro and Golden Crown are far apart. They are not.
Does Tito not see corruption as a disease dragging his country backwards? And Anies can play to the hardline vote but the muslim world is not exactly flush with success stories from going down that pathway.

I guess atthe start this was about cracking down on drugs which has quite universal appeal. Will watch with interest.
Did you RTFF? Here is a good one from Smoothy recently.

.
Thanks. I have booked Harris Vertu for May. Hope there is still a scene there then with all the talk about crackdown.
Beware though of Smoothy's recommendations. Less than four months ago he wrote in a post here "I totally agree with most of your report. Especially the crap shag at Hotel Classic. That's "standard" crap service at that place. Although it's cheap and the girls are young and hot. It's extremely rare to get good sex there. " His most recent post stating "Buy let's get real, there is no better value for money in the entire world than Hotel Classic when you compare" should be read in tandem with his earlier posts (there are many actually) complaining about how bad the service is there.

There are a lot of great places in Jakarta, and it is IMHO overall a better scene than Bangkok although it is difficult to know whether that will continue for long given the real possibility of politically-motivated crackdowns, some of which have already occurred. But as a Jakarta regular, I don't even bother with Classic (or Travel, its competitor for terrible service) anymore.
Where do you go now?

LAGuy5 obviously still has his panties in a wad since I disagreed with him when he said everyone should carry their passport around with them at all times. (which I still think is a dumb move)

I have always said the service at Hotel Classic and Hotel Travel sucks. Where did I say it was good? It's a rare occasion I go there and take a girl there anymore since it's not worth my time to get star fish service. I value my time more than the dirt cheap price. Most of my Western friends also do not like the service there. However, if you are Asian, you will almost certainly like it. All of my Asian friends think it's great. They care more about the hot young girls and cheap price and disregard the bad service. And the majority of posters here now seem to be Asian rather than Westerners.

Malioboro has better service, but is more expensive. If you want really good service, free lancers around town in places like BATS or CJs or even Tinder are better options.

There are so many places in town and each one varies on the quality of girls at any given time. But the key to the service is how the mamasans handle the girls. The fact that I always get good service at King Cross and always get bad service at Hotel Classic is a direct reflection on the mamasans who train and control those girls. The mamasans at Hotel Classic and Travel are the worst in the city in my opinion. They simply don't care about whether or not the girls provide good service. However, they sure do know their business when it comes to finding young and attractive girls to pimp out.

I like to rotate places, going to different ones rather than sticking to any particular one. I still do go to Hotel Classic and Travel on occasion, but not often. I plan to hit Medika tonight with some local friends.
LAGuy5 obviously still has his panties in a wad since I disagreed with him when he said everyone should carry their passport around with them at all times. (which I still think is a dumb move)
Got to agree with you there. I travel a lot would never carry my original passport around with me when I am out and about. Way too much hassle if I were to lose it. Never leave it with a hotel front desk either, if they need it, they can photocopy it. The only place for your passport when you travel is under lock and key in your room safe.
