Just wanted to make sure if I am in transit through Shanghai that I do not need a tourist visa to enter. I have read on multiple sites tourist visa is only necessary if you are staying greater than 24 hrs. Just wanted to confirm this is true.

In a nutshell, must be from one of the eligible countries as listed, must hold an onward ticket from the same airport to a foreign destination, can only travel in a certain area in / around Shanghai. Entry without visa can be for up to 144 hours in some cases.

Just make sure you allow time firstly to get through the line for the visa exemption process to catch your onward flight. Some research on travel to and from the airport and where to go for service will help maximise your hunting time.

If already hold a China visa and you are going from Shanghai to another city in China you can clear immigration and customs.

Anyways, it seems that a lot of Viet girls are worried about police monitoring NLO or similar sites and don't want to advertise. I don't blame them, esp after the SNG scenario. According to the popular Chinese forum, a few have reopened on the down-low inside residential complexes, but I dare not go.

I will PM you a couple of places I know where you can still get action. But you got to tip the girls, so it's not cheap.

Shanghai, and I think most of China, is really not the same as before last summer.

The Chinese guys on the forum keep talking about this remote village in Yunnan where they go for mongering. It's like 6+ hours of train and bus rides out of the nearest big city, which itself is already a 2+ hour flight from Shanghai. If folks will go to those lengths, it shows how much it has dried up at home.

It seems very dangerous to me especially if one is within reach of LE which is certainly the case for the girls and, I suppose, Coco, and maybe even you.
