Looking for some help about Colosseum /1001. I'm planning on going one night when I am in town in April (theres a dj I really like) and I don't want to worry about getting jacked by the police or having any other problems getting back to the Hyatt, so I'm going to just sleep near the club and leave in the afternoon when I wake up. Money isn't an issue.

I'm trying to book a room, and for the life of me cannot figure it out. I searched on 1001 and don't get any hotel to show up (agoda, expedia, google, etc). K7 doesn't work either, and the Colosseum website doesn't help. Anybody know how I can book this online, or worst case scenario, can I just show up a bit early and book a room before I get wasted? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I used to love going for a sauna, steam and hot stone massage at Delta spa. The one at Gatot Sabroto was great but it's closed down. I hear the one at Grand Wijaya closed down. The one near Mangga Dua mall is a dump and so is the one at Harmoni. Does anyone know any good Delta massage places still left that also have sauna and steam room? I'd like to find a good one. However, can anyone verify that the hot stone massage is now 915,000 rupiah rather than the 500,000 it used to be? If that's the case, I'm done with the place even if there is still a nice facility remaining. I visited the one at Harmoni last week and they wanted 915k with no sauna or steam room. I will admit the therapists were very hot, but I wasn't there for that so I left. I have never seen therapists that hot at any other Delta so I am thinking perhaps that 915k was only the rate at harmoni since their girls are there for sex more than giving a massage. Just a guess.

Anyway, I don't think 1001 is a hotel in a traditional sense that you book like ordinary hotel. They are mostly rooms that are designed for you to use during the events that you want to have a session with their on site girls. Again, I might be wrong. In any case, there should not be any problem for you to get on a taxi from 1001 to your hotel. It is pretty safe and as long as you use Bluebird taxi. Just book a decent hotel like Merkure hotel along Hayam Wuruk or Gajah Mada, or Mangga Dua, and hotels there are very close to 1001.

Mainly because their girls are kampung girls not smart enough to use Tinder themselves rather than a fairly clever girl who can setup her own Tinder account. The pimp girl gets 300 for sex and the pimp gets the rest depending on what he negotiates with you. They are the same pimps that are on wechat so it's exactly the same price. They will negotiate price for full sex before even coming, so it's not a 200 + an extra charge for sex, it's a flat fee for sex inclusive.

If you try for a girl who says she will only give you a massage, those are the ones who will want between 200 and 300. There is no guarantee of sex, but it's probably still likely if you want it. They again, are the exact same price as the wechat girls.

What worries me is that although the present government's anti-corruption actions have had some effect, it likely is causing governmental officials to find more creative (and perhaps safer) ways of extorting bribes, particularly given many of them had to go into debt to pay the bribes they needed to get their positions in the first place. And they were counting on using bribe money they received to pay off these debts. A vicious circle for sure, and one that might encourage the sort of police behavior you describe.

Incidentally, based on your sense of the girlfriend who told you this, how likely do you think her story is actually true?

You hear a lot about small drug busts in Bali and Jakarta where a long term resident is found with a couple of jonts or a small amount of coke in his house. Invariably there is a ripped off business partner, girls treated roughly or an embarrassed ex-boyfriend not being mentioned.

My first comment after a couple of nights in North Jakarta is I haven't seen so much petty bickering and lack of clarity among local staff.

1. Marlioboro. The girls they're bringing in are definitely Division 2 material. Heavily padded bra's and Hockey pants don't add anything. The 2nd floor curtain / privacy space that cost 20 ladies drinks has been shut down. Curtains remain open.

So you get sent to the third floor if you're daft enough to pay the 20 drinks like me. The lady room manager wasn't impressed by this move, as it's interfering with her business She demanded I should only expect 15 minutes access to the room for 20 drinks and for BBBJ. I could see she was trying to bully me and had to stand my ground. After remonstrations and a verbal standoff in Betawi which ashamed everyone else on the floor, I agreed one of the big Buddhas had to resolve. I made it clear to Buddha I would take around half an hour to finish as I wasn't reliable like the sunrise.

He runs the place and initially I was surprised he took the lady floor managers side. It was only after I said that it looked like the tail was wagging the dog and he wasn't in control of the club that he smiled and changed his mind.

BBBJ was very good.

2. Illigals. Smoky overpriced shithole, nothing else to say but avoid.

3. Tease club, Empo- Major body blow for me. They've shut the darn place down! The big new club that's taken years to build on the 5th floor is now open, Despite all the staff treating me like a long lost friend and offering a complimentary drink this new club sucks, unless you like listening to Bon Jovi covers and being blinded by the an expensive lighting system. I didn't stay around for the sexy dancers. I'll miss those secret little private rooms behind Tease. The new policy as with Malio is to hire a "bedroom". Can't see the naked lesbian shows returning in a hurry.

4. Classic, I'm not a regular but still had some time on my hands. 2nd floor Good atmosphere, had to negotiate hard and struggle to find a willing partner for BBBJ. It's only when I mentioned I was circumcised did the cheap farm girls agree. So there's a tip lads.

Classic costs peanuts. Had a few beers with some off duty police officers who said everyone's income had dropped drastically which maybe explains all the moody staff I came across.

5. Kota Indah. The aquariums are all "under renovation" forcing the girls into the public bars and tables. No one seems to have got the hang of things, and the girls scuttle around like chickens without a mother. A sober Filipino sailor wandered into Royale and sat at the bar as one does to drink. 10 minutes later he's getting shouted at by a Mamasan that either he swiftly goes upstairs or pay to drink with his "booked" partner. I don't think he even realised the WG next to him was there.

One year ago I would have found this funny but now it is concerning.

So on ordering some great fried pidgeon I was tempted by one girl who also had her sister on-site. But Sister wouldn't double up as she worked in "recruitment".

Kota Indah is still a good afternoon warm up venue. On enquiring I was told twice that the pole dancers have all gone to work in Batam. They'll be disappointed when they get there as I believe the pay is miserable and cougar dancers aren't given the recognition they deserve.

Follow up on hotels with executive lounges next maybe.

[/QUOTE]Terrible news. Out of all the bars in Jakarta Tease was the one I didn't mind spending time in. The staff was super friendly and professional. No pushy mamasans. Reminded me the most of a gogo bar in Thailand. The girls were only soso and the ladydrinks a bit expensive but a great place to chill out in between my sessions at Classic and Travel.

Any other bars like Tease in Jakarta?

She started coming over when she was 20, but I think she's around 23 now. Tight package for sure. She has indeed been relocated to Batam. She seems to enjoy it there because she is now making much more money. They don't have her working as a dancer though, she is working karaoke. She claims the other girls she danced with in Jakarta are also there. She has some Singaporean guy she met there who paid to get her a passport and is bringing her to Singapore on occasion now. She said he is "royal" and paid recently to get a house built in Indramayu. I don't know if the other girls have been as lucky, but it seems she's not wanting to return to Jakarta any time soon. If so, good for them, they were making peanuts as dancers in Jkt.

3) That's good advice. I'd never thought of that as a selling point, but I have noticed recently that the girls often comment in the room that they are surprised I am circumsized. Obviously it does make a difference to them.
