You don't want to look too much like you are on business, but just VERY nice slacks, long sleeved shirt, belt etc.; also, don't worry about cool clothing as most clubs have good AC. HOTELS
My recommendation is to stay 2 or 3 days at [url]www.calihotel.com[/url] it is the Hostal San Fernando. Why, well Rigo is an excellent contact to have in Cali and he is the owner and spending $100 on his hotel to make his friendship is the most intelligent $100 you will ever spend. Also there are ALWAYS mongers staying at his hotel so you can make a friend and a wingman to help you explore the city. Rigo can also always help you with any question or anything you need, also he can probably hook you up with a cellphone. Once you have your bearings then I too would recommend the place Surfer recommended "Torre de Cali" it is WAY better than IC.
AVE SEXTA
The girls are in between Olympica Grocery and the clubs that start off on the most North part of Ave. 6. The best time for trolling is after 9pm up until 3am MAX. AT around 9-10pm there is about 15 girls total on the weekdays and about 40 on Friday and Saturday. The younger and hotter ones hang closer to the clubs on Ave 6, and the black ones hang out real close to Studio 54.
Any girls you see on other streets are umm...not girls!
DONT BRING CASH TO COLOMBIA
I wish the regular Colombia posters would have posted this more often. Use you ATM card because the government charges 16% I.V.A. tax to exchange dollars for pesos where if you use your card you will only pay the ATM fee.

Maki - I know this sounds crazy but, GREAT SUSHI and it is located two blocks east of the Parque Del Penon in the north, but it costs at least $15 a person.
Tezones - Ave 8 Norte #29 on the corner - Awesome but about $15 a person
Tutti Sappori - Two places down from Tezones - ITALIAN - $15 a person

You omit one of my favorite places to eat in Cali, Karen's Pizza (several branches but my regular one is next to Blockbuster Video on the Sexta). Very good pizzas, but I always have the lasagne with garlic bread (and a limonade).
Also, Bancolombia ATMs allow 400K withdrawals and are the best, but last couple trips my cards won't work there for some reason so I am limited to 300K per withdrawal. ):
Is violence getting worse in Cali?
Hey there, just read from another source that muggings are getting horrifically violent in Cali.
They don't even wait for the victim to run or struggle. Robbers are just going up to their target, shooting them then taking everything off the corpse. So far, there have been over 600 deaths reported from violent muggings.
And no, it's not gang-on-gang violence. Can anyone confirm/deny this information?

cali is not the best place for mongering! the quality/price ratio is bad.
if you really have to go then don't stay longer then 5-7 days and be sure to include a weekend in your stay.
the only place that did surpirse me in a positive way in cali was club escoses. it is near the hotel intercontinental. taxidrivers know the place. kind of a nightclub/casa. clean, nice and professional. i do recommend kathy. very nice, sweet and enthousiastic girl.
go to cali if you like:
1) cheap & dirty sex. lots of cheap, but dirty casas with unmotivated, ugly chicas.
2) discos and dancing. by the way: only in the weekend.
3) endless dating before getting nowhere.
here are my facts. all information is "as is".
weather.
i have been told in summer it can get pretty warm. 95-100 °f. in winter that is less. 75-85 °f. in daytime it is a bit humid. evenings and night are comfortable. in winter rain can spoil your day.
transport.
taxis are pretty cheap. for p$ 5,000 (us$ 2.50) you travel from north to south. just as in every other city drivers try to fool you by making extra miles. sometimes i even had to tell the drivers myself which way to go. taxi from the airport to town should cost about p$ 35,0000 (us$ 16). busses are cheaper. price p$ 1,200 (us$ 0.50). take good care you are not going go dangerous quarters. i didn't find any maps with bus-plans. buy yourself a cityplan. on leaving colombia you have to pay exit tax something like us$ 30.
communication.
at least a basic level of spanish is required. not many people speak english. and everybody has a cellphone. exchanging telephone numbers is very popular. get a cellphone too. take one from provider comcel. comcel has the best coverage i have been told.
safety.
i guess cali is just the same as any other south american city. so take your normal precautions. like a moneybelt and things like that. i won't go further into this. find elsewhere on the internet what precautions to take. quarters you certainly should not go to: in centro the quarters san nicolas, el clavario and barrio obrero. the rest of centro is also not safe at night. also don't go to siloe (south, not far from calle 5) and aqua blanco (also south).
two "incidents" i did have in cali:
1) during my lunch in a restaurant in the centre near torre de cali i heard gunshots. before hiding in the kitchen of the restautant i saw a motor cop shooting at a car speeding away. he was aiming to hit. strange was that all trafic in the street just drove on. few minutes after the shooting everything was back to normal.
2) in one place with chicas there were a bunch of loud and badlooking colombians (males). suddenly comes in a guy telling that the police is coming in. in a second everybody disappeared through an alternate exit. kind of panic. after the police went away the guys who disappeared came back. and they took out the guns they had hidden under the seats of the chairs. i went away. don't like the combination of guns, liqor, chicas and shouting at each other.
accomodation.
as a first timer stay in the north of cali near 6th avenue (la sexta). north of the river. pretty secure and close to where all other gringos stay. there is a big reconstrution going on in the city. big traffic jam during rush hours. difficult to get to the north if you are not staying there. when i was in cali (in winter) i had no problem finding a hotel. it is a buyer market. during december and special during the feria of cali it can be different. places:
* hotel don jaime. ave 6 15n-25. p$ 101,000 (us$ 45) guest an extra p$ 26,000 (us$ 12). save area. take a room in the back (no streetnoice). helpfull staff.
* aparthotel montecarlo. calle 22n 5n-15. p$ 70,000 - 85,000 (us$ 31 - 38). no extra charge for guests. 3 blocks from la sexta. pretty secure area. bit neglected and the airco in the living room was just not sufficient in daytime. but for the rest ok. helpfull staff.
* apartahotel plaza real. ave 2n 21n-99. p$ 60,000 - 80,000 (us$ 27 - 35). no extra charge for guests. a bit far away from la sexta (7 blocks). but very close near the casas. i liked the the rooms very much. helpfull staff.
* apartahotel del rio. ave 2n 21n-05. p$ 86,000 (us$ 38) for 1 person. p$96,000 (us$ 42) for 2 persons. if you have a guest it is possible to upgrade to 2 persons. a bit far away from la sexta (7 blocks). but very close near the casas. i liked plaze real better.
* hotel granada real. ave 8n 15an-31. p$ 92.400 (us$ 41). pretty save area. i didn't like the rooms. but heard from another guy that he liked to stay there.
* hotel nevada. ave 8a 14n-15. pretty save area. i disliked the place.
touristic things.
* la sexta (= avenida 6) for going out. remember: cali is a party city. you have to love partying. not much other things to do/see. on weekdays it is pretty boring in cali.
* places/bars: london bar ave 6an 25-44, prada, mr mojito ave 5bn 25n-40, mystica, martyns 6a with 22. also check out the avenidas parallel to la sexta. ave 6a and 8. other bars: tienda vieja. a bar i heard that is good place for meeting "non-pros". i have no idea where it is. ask a taxidriver. and the bar down in torre de cali. by the way torre de cali is a big skyscraper in the middle of cali. biggest buildings there.
* centro commerciales (shopping malls). nice for picking up dates. chipichape. in the north at the end of ave 6. cosmocentro. in the south and close to that palmetto. unicentro, also in the south.
* centro, accross ave 6th near the church la ermita, is a nice area for cheap shopping. buy some cheap cd's, clothes etcetera. only in daytime. don't go there at night.
* tres crusez. three crosses on a mountain top. costs p$ 20,000 (us$ 9) to go and return by taxi.
* cristo rey. a christ statue on a mountain top. costs p$ 20,000 (us$ 9) to go and return by taxi.
* the zoo. called zoologico. not that fascinating. but well, what else can you do on a rainy day. think it costs about p$ 6,000 (us$ 3) to get in.
* quarter san antonio, the plaza and parque near the church. in the weekend on a saterday or sunday afternoon/evening. great place for relaxing. the best place i found in cali. take a date with you. no entrance fee.
* torre de cali. you can get on top of the highest building for p$ 4,000 (us$ 2). nice for taking pictures.
* juanchito. i didn't visit juanchito the famous disco area just outside town. i wouldn't go alone to that area (safety) and couldn't find a reliable guide.
food.
the food is no good. first few days the empanadas (a kind of chicken meat) tastes good. but after a few days you get really bored with all the fried food. beer: poker (4%) and brava (5%) are ok.
women.
i personnaly am not fond of the physics of the calenas. they don't have nice slim bodies or attractive features in the face all women have the custom of wearing thight, low cut jeans. but maybe only 10% of them do have the figure for it. lots of bellies and love handles hanging over. guess it comes from eating too much empanadas. furthermore most of the girls have indian features in their face. not my style. strange is that in all casas you have to pay in advance before you take the girls with you. don't like that.
1) dating.
if you like dating girls as in highschool then you definitly have to go to cali.in my opinion this dating costs you a lot of money and time while getting nowhere. it is dating, dating and dating and then maybe maybe maybe in the end you maybe could have sex. well i like it the other way around. first have sex and then maybe maybe maybe i will take her out on a date. i found itamazing how many gringo were trying to impress girls by bying them drinks. but well, if you want to re-experience you highschool time then go ahead. if you like dating try to establish contacts before you go. amigos.com, latinamericancupid.com, etcetera, etcetera. it is pretty easy to get telephone numbers from chicas in the street. much much easier then back home. also age difference is not a big deal in dating. i dated girls who's mothers were 10 years younger then me. just out of curiousity i visited a marriage agency. allcolombiangirls.com. chipichape 2nd floor-206. pretty expensive. something like us$ 450 for one year and us$ 250 for one week membership.
2) club escoses.
it is near the hotel intercontinental. every taxidriver knows the place. a kind of a nightclub/casa. clean, nice and professional. the only place in cali where i felt completly secure. the quality top segment of the chicas is 7.5. girls were very nice and sweet. what a change and what a surpise! i do recommend kathy. very nice, sweet and enthousiastic girl. prices were fair: for one hour p$ 40,000 (us$ 18) for the house and p$ 110,000 (us$ 48) for the girl.
3) flores frescas (=fresh flowers).
calle 20n 4n-16. every taxidriver knows this place. some kind of combination of nightclub/casa. looks a bit better then the normal casas but still a bit dodgy. qualtiy of the top-segment of the chicas: 7.0. at about 10:30 pm they have a nice show in which all the chicas go topless. after that there is a lesbian dildo show. entrance: p$ 15,000 (us$ 7). prices for the chicas: 0.5 hour p$ 130,000 (us$ 57), 1.0 hour p$ 180,000 (us$ 80), to take to your hotel: p$ 60,000 (us$ 26) for the house and p$ 150,000 - 200,000 (us$ 65 - 88) for the chica. i found that the chicas in flores frescas had an attitude problem. like: "you are lucky you may fuck me". beside that these prices are way too high. so my answer was no.
4) millenium.
i have heard about this club but i couldn't find the place. in my hotel the porter (who had a lot of good advices) had heard about it but he didn't know the adress. also three taxidrivers i did ask didn't know where it was. supposed to be near the soccer stadium. but well, i didn't feel like looking in the night in the south of cali for a club.
5) casas.
the casas are cheap but dirty. so take your own towel with you! also a lot of casas on the outside just look like normal houses. sometimes a bit difficult to discover. just ask a taxidriver to drive you around town in daytime for an excursion on casas. a taxi ride costs you p$ 19,000 (us$ 9) per hour. the casas are populated with unmotivated girls although there are few exceptions. in no casa i felt 100% save. the guys that supervise the casas don't know how to handle tourists. here are some adresses.
* calle 23an 2n-95 san vincente. near torre de cali. every day from 10am till 8pm. prettiest girls i did see in casas. price for one hour p$ 40,000 (us$ 18).
i do recommend ariana. good service.
* also near torre de cali in ave 2an near rio cali is farahon. every taxidriver knows this place. av 2an, open at night.
* dr amor / dr love. every taxidriver know this place. av 2an 23n-37 23n-42. everyday from 9am till 8pm. price for one hour p$ 38,000 (us$ 17).
* casa at ave 2an 24n-61. at nights.
* ave 2an 24n-63 9am - 7pm.
* ave 2an 24n-105, every day 9am - 2am.
* ave 2bis, also in north of cali: playmates room and ave 2bis norte 34-61 one hour p$ 57,000 (us$ 25).
* ave 2bis norte 34-55, one hour p$ 50,000 (us$ 22).
* south in cali. calle 13 nr 72-25. av pasoanco. piso 2 (2nd floor). friendly women supervisors. 1 hour p$ 38.000 (us$ 17), ask for nicole.
* dinas. also south cra 50 10-31 (south). unfriendly supervisors.
* cupido's club, autopista sur no 65a-28b (south).
* cra 44 no. 5b-79 (south). etcetera, etcetara.
* beware for casa marineras. this is a casa near la sexta. when you walk la sexta guys try to pull you to the place. don't go. it is expensive. twice the normal rates. and the girls are ugly.
6) websites and newspaper: i have no experience. all i remember is website kaliente.com. look in the newspaper el pais in the announcements for other websites, casas and pros.
7) streethookers. i saw some on la sexta near the crossing with calle 23. everybody in cali warned me against these girls. hard too handle. drugs. diseases.

I have MILFS in BAQ and Cali IMO the milfs are primo stuff. Hello all.. I fianally found the perfect city in Colombia thanks to luis [ english speaking ] who lives in Armenia.. I was met by Luis at Cali airport who i never met before except by many phone calls. The next morning we hop a bus 3 hours away to Armenia.The fun begins here starting with his friend owning a jeep who i hire for 5 days 50k plus gas a day. the first order of business finding the nearest *****houses in Armenia. The going rate is 30- 50k for the girls here. most of the rooms i saw were unfit for sex so opted for chicas phone #s f6r sex in my hotel. 60k was the going rate..Luis found me a nice hotel near his apartment 40k anite, chica friendly, no extra charge.
