I just made a statement that in the event that they don't, I will figure it out or when in doubt, I will pass. That is taking the responsibility for myself. BTW, I have rented an apartment in another country where they did have a security guard who did check and keep the lady's I'd.

this i'd issue and **** girls. maybe we should be taking some responsibility ourselves. we should know when we are talking to **** girls and be wary of entrapment. if we are in our condos. if we are on vacation, staying in a hotel and new to and an area. we need to be careful. we don't know the local rules. this is where a hotel, that demands girls i'd cards, is very important. we should understand that this hotel is protecting our best interests. any hotel, turning a blind eye to **** girls, should be avoided at all costs. again the ugly entrapment word could become a reality. the **** girl could be working for the bib. as soon as you are naked they might come bursting in the door, with a tv crew, and you become the next star in the 'big trouble in thailand' documentary. plus you will need big money to get out of trouble.
for mr. e. it sounds like he lives in pattaya. understands the rules and can handle himself. so he can do his thing. we don't know if that is the case for mr. h. it sounds like he needs the safety of the security guard. just need to make sure he stays awake. the sg and not mr. h.

For what it's worth, I don't think the hotels are checking I. D. Of the girls for age. I don't think they do it to protect their customers either. I think they do it for their own self interest.
Too many times guys have brought girls to their room, then the next day the guy claims the housekeeper has stolen some money. The hotel simply points out the fact that the guy had a guest in the room and says, she (or he) must have taken the money.
I can imagine a scenario where a guy brings a girl back then later she causes trouble and smashes up the room. In this case, I don't think the hotel will give back the I. D, until after it's been determined who pays for the damage.
When the desk has called the room to verify that everything is "OK", I've often wondered what they would do if I simply didn't answer the phone. Would they send someone up to make sure I wasn't passed out from drugs?

If that was the case they would look at the card and give it right back. They care about who to place blame on if their shit is broken up and that you have not been killed in their room. That is why they take the card and file it, nine times out of ten without looking at it. Usually when a girl leaves I go right and take a shower, so whenever I am in a country that does the call thing I usually forget they are going to call and don't answer the phone. Most of the times the girl has come back up to tell me to answer the phone because they will not let her leave until I tell them everything is okay. In one hotel (I forget which country and city) every time I brought a girl in they had forms to fill out and we both had to sign them along with taking the girl's ID.
Last year, after a girl I had brought home decided to cause some big trouble in the middle of the night, the manager decided to start a policy that guests who come at night must sign in and leave their ID with the security guy. That lasted all of ONE day. For one, it created extra work for the security guy. For two, this building is five stories and is made up of mostly young Thai people or farang males who live with their Thai girlfriend. So me and my cousin were probably the only ones who had unfamiliar women in and out on a regular basis.

I came out of my two-hour massage/nap last night at 12:20 and immediately it began to pour down rain. I took my poncho out and jumped on my bike and headed home. It rained until 2am.
