About three years ago, I stayed in this hotel which I had been told was among the nicest in Cebu city. The room was grungy. Needed paint; dirty windows and the bathroom needed regrouting. The TV didn't work and it took two appearances by the maintenance man to get it working. We left the next day.
As I recall, the lobby was rather opulent and would lead you to believe that the rooms are commensurate, but its not so.

Didn't stay there last year, but had dinner one night at the buffet just off the lobby. This was some of the best food in Cebu. Try it you'll like it!!

Spent a few nights there last year and I would compare it to the Marriott both in comfort and price. The small and tacky rooms sort of reminded me of the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas. I believe it was around $70 USD a night but it probably went up. I don't remember an Italian restaurant but there are several places to eat. What I do remember is the buffet, as Snake mentions, with so many selections it will make your head spin. I only ate there for breakfast which was around $10 USD. I think the executive chef is European. The swimming pool is huge as well. Make sure you drink a few sparklers for me!

I stayed there for 4 nights last month. The cost was $85 per night. The breakfast buffet at Uno's was very good and was included in the price. I never had dinner there. My friend and his traveling companion had a few dinners at some of their restaurants and said they were very good. One was the Japanese restaruant Mizu. I don't know if they ate at the Italian restaurant.
I would say it is a very good hotel. I have some good memories from staying there. However I would not stay there again as my last memory was the bill. They charged $4 per small bottle of Evian water of which I and the ladies drank several. At $30 plus dollars for water, I just feel they cheated me.
I read somewhere about a beach resort in or near Cebu that had huts you could rent that were built over the water, or moderate priced hotels I will be with my girlfriend, can anyone help?
Also I want to do some island hopping with my girlfriend do you guys have any recommendations?

Thanks to all of you for your great advice. I cannot bring m two little girls here as they raid the "in room refrigerators". I would end up with a $ 150 bill for the sodas and candy and everything else they would consume.
I will have dinner here with my dwarf and ask to see the rooms. WIth my discount I pay $ 38/nt at Crown Regency (formerly Metropolis Court) for a deluxe room (very large with two queen beds and nice bathroom/bathtub) and $30/nt for one of the "Theme Rooms" on the first floor with a jacuzzi (much smaller).

Take 2 Hr Supercat from Pier 4 to Ormoc Cit. Beautiful and great beaches and lovely resort down past Don Felipe Hotel. Don Felipe was recently renovated and has rooms facing the ocean.
3 1/2 hour boat ride gets you to beautiful Dumaguete. Read the Board there for more info on the lovely seaside CIty. Has great resorts outside town on the beach with pools.

i am attaching 2 photos of a pinoy girl i met on the net. she claims to be not a bar girl. yet, some of her speech "terminology" seem more in the style of a bar girl.
if anyone met this girl in cebu bars or bonked her, i would like to get a pm from you please. if she is indeed a bar girl, i could treat her nice, enjoy her company, but without developing any feelings!

She looks pretty hot. I will trade my dwarf (see photos in Davao) and a "pussy to be named later" if you hook me up with her. Moving on, most regular ladies DO NOT sound or talk like bargirls. Does not necessarily mean she IS one but probably is. Like the traffic signal, "proceed with caution". A further indicator will be if she starts asking for sums of money from $50 to $500. Or she goes into graphic detail on the net as to how she will fuck you.

i am intrigued to exactly what you mean by [i]”bar girl speech terminology”[/i] because the language tends to be quite fashionable the way certain phrases are used.
however, in my opinion these “on-line girls” are far worse than many bar girls because at least some bar girls do keep their word. whereas, i have chatted to many on-line girls who can be trusted for all of two seconds, and are easily swayed by sweet words and lies from some guy in a country that i never knew existed before promising them the earth.
is not the first picture somewhat of a give away?
over my 15+ years in the pi i have not met many "non-bar" girls who would send me a picture like that.

I'll take Marriott over Waterfront anytime.
I stayed at the Waterfront last August and I found the same signs of neglect as some of the others. At the time Cebu Local told me that the place is run by the son of the original owner and he just doesn't know what he's doing. Some things are good, like the buffet breakfast and the pool.
I find Marriott to be a better location anyway, being right next to Ayala and much closer to the Mango Ave. bars. Waterfront is mainly good for Sunflower Disco and the complex of bars and restaurants across the street from the main entrance.
If you're worried about the minibar, you can just ask housekeeping to take it all away. Then just stock the fridge with your own stuff that you buy from outside.
But you can ask hotels to remove the contents of the refrigerator. most are acceptable to that request.

T Vega, hope you can give us a trip report later on. I have an interest in going to both places myself.
Most decent hotels should be able to do this for you, assuming you've been their guest. Holiday Plaza has a locked storeroom right next to their check in counter. I kept some things there when I was in Bohol for two days. There was no extra charge.
