I had this issue in an airbnb. I had to use the kitchen oven to heat the place the first night. By the second night, I found extra blankets and a note from the owner that a space heater was available in the porteria. It really gets cold there.

Especially if I found her in a way where we had no opportunity to chit chat and feel each other out before ending up in a bedroom together. I think 80%+ of the time, it's not a match on one or both sides.
To me, repeating regularly with the <20% who give me a great experience is what makes the whole thing well worth the time and money.
