Where did you stay at during the trip above?
There are numerous options, depending on whether you want a hotel, apartment, etc. Have you checked the Sosua hotel thread? There are places as low as $25 a night and some with good weekly rates, depending on the kind of conditions you like.
I stayed at the garden I really like it over there but when I take $60 ×15 that make it $900 I don't want to pay that much.
I just came back from sosua Monday I'm thinking about going back in July this time I'm staying for 2 weeks can somebody tell me where can I stay and downtown sosua for 2 weeks and don't pay no more then $500.
I stayed at Romanoff. 10 minutes' walk to the drag for $35 / day. Rocky's much closer. Probably $25 / night. I suspect Europa and De Piero are in the same ball park. You may want to read the forum. Especially sosua hotel thread?
One lesson I definitely learned in speaking no Spanish is to just not bother with a girl who also doesn't speak English, it just seems like too much of a barrier when there are other options.
In a place like the D. R where even Spanish is mongrel let alone Good English, personally, I would run from any woman who speaks English, absolutely so if she is in Sosua for it is a serious tell-tale.
In Santiago however, I bumped into women who spoke to me in English. One time at a Mcdonald's. She was a medicine student at the expensive catholic university and snooty, rightly. The other one was from the same university and studies law and visits NYC. Clearly very different class. I also met a model at las colinas mall, who spoke to me in English. In all cases, it was clear they know the language not exclusively by sucking Dingo dick. LOL. The first two would beat many in intellectual capacities as well.

First trip for newbie
Hey Fellas long time lurker first time poster here. Although I am on the USG board as I have been mongering for years in the states. Well, I am finally ready to try some international mongering and after much debate between Costa Rica and DR, I have chosen the DR as my spot next month! Needless to say I am both very excited but very lost. Please don't blast me for the following questions and BELIEVE me I have RTFF! Probably too much that it has been overwhelming. So many choices / opinions / debates. Bottom line is I was hoping from some input from you Vets on what would be the best bet for me to try out.
Here is the set up: I actually want to do both some relaxing as I desperately need a vacation, along with some mongering. I'm looking at 3 to 4 nights. Having said that, this won't be strictly a mongering trip BUT it is certainly on the agenda. My questions are:
1. Where do I book my trip? Expedia, travelocity, etc. Or is there a website I am missing a deal on? And are All Inclusive packages a good idea? I have read that these are not ideal for mongering trips. But seeing as I want a vacation too, I wondered which are best and chica friendly. However, if going this route will be a deal breaker and mean I might risk the potential for meet chicas for mongering then what should I look for instead?
2. Are taking girls into the rooms at resorts really frowned upon and draw odd looks? It doesn't matter but just curious.
3. The tough question that I'm sure has many answers. Sosua, SD, or PP as my destination?
4. Through reading reviews on other sites, I have read people would get propositioned by chicas on beaches at resorts! I mean is it that easy? If its a resort that doesn't allow that, where are the best brothels / bars? Do hotels charge fees for taking the girls in your room?
5. Where should I exchange my dollars for their currency?
I guess I will stop there for now since that alone is a lot to take in. Thanks in advance for the help on this. Being my first time I have no clue what to expect or where to begin. I wish I could go out there like a pro after all I have read here but in reality I'm a rookie and at this point I just want to limit my mistakes and have as much fun as possible. I am fluent in Spanish, so I hope this offsets being new a bit.
Thanks
That is because most American Guys are taught from birth to put Pussy on a Pedestal and they have to go the extra mile to impress a women.
In other country's outside of the USA, The Men is more valued than a women. Women are worth shit especially in 3rd world country's.
It is true that in many countries women are less valued which is why brides are burnt, there is selective abortions of female fetus and acid thrown on women but is that something you would want to be part of?
Mostly, I do not understand this: if you do not respect women, how would you respect your mother, wife or sisters.

Thanks
I Think you will like Costa Rica Better. Costa Rica women are more finer than DR Women.
Here's a Video on Costa Rica.

Having said that, this won't be strictly a mongering trip BUT it is certainly on the agenda.
1. Try Kayak. Com if you never tried it in addition to the others you spoke of.
2. Relaxing and looking for women are not mutually exclusive. Given the shortage of time, you can relax on a beach and get propositioned by women at the same time. If not, bring one or ten from the disco of the night past. By the way, it is true that women will approach you. The pro kind though!
3. Again, given the shortage of time, I recommend Sosua because you can walk everywhere including the beach. By not staying at all-inclusives, you increase your chance of getting hit on by women (mostly if not all- Pros) on the public beach and not having to worry about women friendliness of all inclusive hotels.
4. Now you can read the sosua forum for all the details. Others will chime in as well.
5. Given that you are fluent in Spanish, theoretically you can go anywhere but time or the lack of it is a deal killer which is why I would focus on Sosua. Next trip, you can throw a dart on the map and go there. It would be a piece of cake.
One lesson I definitely learned in speaking no Spanish is to just not bother with a girl who also doesn't speak English, it just seems like too much of a barrier when there are other options.
That is absolutely 110% the wrong way to be looking at this amigo. Like Temporteco said, if she speaks English very well then I would run the other way. Most of the ones who speak very good English are usually the most hardcore.
You need to be working on stepping up your Spanish speaking skills. It just works out better when you can speak their language and it also helps keep you aware of what is going on around you.
Way back in my newbie days when I did not speak any Spanish, my wingman (who spoke and understood a good amount of Spanish) interpreted a conversation the two chicas we were taking back to our rooms were having with each other. Although they agreed to Toda La Noche (TLN) , they were planning to skip out on us early. He is Chinese, so they probably thought he had no idea what they were saying!
I have had the best experiences with young Haitians straight from the border-crossing who speak no English and little or no Spanish. You treat them right, and they are grateful for comparatively little, and they will be affectionate, submissive and honest. Six months later, after the same chica has served her time in Sosua, she will have picked up all the worst habits of the veterans. At first, just being with a gringo, eating at gringo restaurants, and staying in gringo hotels or apartments, is all strange to them and an exciting adventure. Six months later and it is just "show me the money".
If they don't speak English or Spanish then you speak French with them? I thought they spoke something else? Kind of like patois in Jamaica? I have been learning Spanish and searching the Dominican Cupid website with the intent to prearrange a girl or three for my trip but there's a major lack of very dark skinned girls. I think I would be a lot happier with a Haitian, based on both looks and attitude but it sounds harder to find than a Dominican woman. I don't need 3 women a day and if I find one I really like I'd keep her for the bulk of my time there so I would appreciate any tips you could share on finding the new Haitian girls.

You can learn it on Google Translate. It is very easy and is a fun language to learn as the grammar is very simple and if you don't know a word, you can often fill in with a Spanish or French or (maybe) English equivalent. Quite a few Haitians learn some French and / or Spanish in school.

Haitian women
You are more likely to run into Haitian women in Sosua that speak english. They are way more motivated. The average Haitian you meet male or female will speak more langauges then you. It puts food on there table.

Slick Vick
you only have 3 or 4 nights and you want to have regular vacation and a mongering trip? i think your biggest danger is faling between two stools and not doing either thing successfully.
with only 3 or 4 nights, sosua is your best option as everything is close to hand so you won't have to waste time or money travelling. but as you speak fluent spanish every part of the island is open to you and you could succeed where most newbie mongers would fail.
we are more or less clear on the mongering part of your trip, but what exactly do you want to include in the "normal" vacation, because that should determine your strategy?
swim in the sea? sosua.
[CodeWord117] (kiteboarding, windsurfing, etc)? cabarete.
historic buildings and museums? santo domingo.
hiking, cycling, motor-biking, river-rafting? jarabacoa.
drinking, sunbathing you can do most any place.
maybe you prefer your own company, but if you want to make friends with like-minded guys on holiday, then sosua is the easiest.
depending where you want to go, just book the cheapest flight you can get and find a hotel when you arrive. this advice does not hold if you come in a busy period, but right now most places are desperate for customers. when are you travelling?
one guy has suggested you try costa rica. much better for conventional tourism but more expensive. make up you mind which country you are going to, then come back here.
a big issue is whether you are on a budget or money is no object. most guys come to the dr not because it is the best, but because it is the best value.
another issue is what skin color you prefer. if you are looking for light-skinned chicas, then dr is not the best. try colombia.

If Sosua or Puerto Plata you will be swamped with haitianas. Hard to find? You will have to fight them off. Strongly advise not committing to one full-time either in words or even in you own mind. If it turns out that way, then fine, but starting off with that mentality could spoil your trip. If you enjoy spending time with a girl and want her again, she will be available (especially if Haitian). And if she isn't, one just as good or better will be.
PM me two / three days before you arrive and I will get you started.
I thought they spoke something else? Kind of like patois in Jamaica?
Haitian Creole is not a patois. It is recognized as a full-fledged language and is a very interesting and logical one. If you are interested in going with haitianas, I strongly recommend learning just a few basic phrases. They are used to be being treated with contempt in the DR and will be amazed and delighted you have troubled to learn a little of their native language. Just a few words can open doors and bodily orifices to you.

Thank you all for the info, sadly I won't be there until December from the looks of things but I should get 3 weeks hopefully. First week is Sosua to get a feel for things then we'll see about trying somewhere else.
I'll definitely be in touch Charles, I'm never one to say no to hard won wisdom. Funny enough the Phillipino guy that works for us in China is actually named Charles too and I learned a lot from him there, seems to be a theme LOL.
