Where to stay
Hey all,
First time to Philippines, yay!
I have an over night in manila on 19th and fly out early morning to another city. So I need accom close to the airport. Not to expensive (not the 5* range). I am not really certain of how expensive decent places are. Clean and hygienic, a normal western standard bathroom. Everything else is sort of immaterial. Now I am well aware of google and all the other sites that I can find this info. Obviously I am asking here for a reason.
I would like to get a massage! Definitely would go out for a beer! Maybe some fun if I fancy someone.
I have read thru 6 pages of 3 different threads here, and this is what I have understood:
A) 300 to 400 P is normal for a taxi ride of 30 mins...
I would recommend that you stay in Makati. For an inexpensive hotel right in the middle of the action I would do Royal Belagiio. Good price. For a good bar with a decent mamasan who can introduce you to nice young lady so that you can have good chance to have that decent nice evening. I would go to "Plan be" Bar which is right across the street from Royal Belagio hotel. For one night, P. Burgos street is the best and SAFEST place in Manila to be.
Lots of tourist and police around.
if you want to grab a beer, you can attempt to cross the street and check out the fine ladies at the EDSA complex.
Thank you Metkim.
Now I certainly want a beer and the prospect of fine ladies sounds all the more tempting. But attempt to cross the street is scary! What am I in for?
All the FRs I have read so far seem to be happening in the darkness. Evening stroll onwards. And I am looking for beer with lunch, still fine ladies there?
What do you think, should I book in advance? At the heritage.

Lac
I kid you not gentlemen! Maybe I did not negotiate hard enough. I was there mainly to watch US Open Tennis as my hotel totally fuckup my TV. Anyways, I managed to grab a few online PSPs through Facebook for 2500. The face value was way better than those in LA. I'm now heading to Subic. I hope things will be brighter over there.

E; Angelies city is two hours from Manila, the others are in Manila, go by different names. Makati is nice area and I think EDSA complex is there. Ermitra and Malate are the strip clubs and stuff. Old town run down area. 1/2 hr. From airport. Lots of hotels in the 3 to 4 star range. Pussy pricing is about right. A little Hi but for a one nighter wanting a good time. Close enough. Makati is closer to the airport I think. Have only taken the tub thru that area. Much safer for a one night. Look on craiglist for massage to hotel. But would recommend what ever area. Go shopping and pick take out. There is plenty in both areas. Happy hunting.

B) 2000 P to 3000 P = ST, 3500 to 5000 P =LT.
C) LAC, EDSA and Burgos = bars / pubs.
D) there don't seem to be many real massage places.
E) Makati, Malate, Ermita, Angeles etc = neighborhoods / towns, cities in Manila?
So here is my question:
Where and what would you recommend me?
Any and all help is most appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Need to be close to the airport & sex, not 5*. I suggest Victoria Court Hotel Cuneta (Pasay).

Close to airport, good 3* love hotel with big rooms, not expensive. Right across the road from EDSA bars.

Those taxi fares sound a little high. Just insist they use the meter or get out. In the end don't have a stroke about $5. 00.
Those P4 P prices are more like freelance or semi pro, expect to pay much more in girly bars like EDSA or Burgos.
Have fun & throw us a FR however brief when you're done.

Sorry girly bars are nocturnal activity. Want day time fun try LAC in Malate or Havana in Makati but expect to spend many many hours in traffic (most of your day). Get on dating sites for day girls or go hang at malls.

AV.
And at the bottom of the badly designed bridge, which leads to a lampost and some vendors, etc, are a few younger and sometimes older kids aware that foreigners cross the bridge and may not always hold onto their belongings. Put your beggar radar on, guard all your pockets, walk fast and purposefully and if any kids gets too close, shout loudly, or accidentally stamp on his feet. They will scamper.

Tourists use the elevated walkway to get snaps.
Very rarely are there FLs hanging around Havana during the daytime hours. At best it's a onsey-twosey type of thing, and the ones I've seen in the sunlight aren't attractive. While the sun is up one has two viable choices, LAC or Burgos, and some bars in Burgos offer the happy-hour discount in the afternoon. Mall wandering is a waste of time, though if one is determined to do so it's best to spend your time at Harrison Plaza or Robinson's. Dating sites offer the best bang for the buck since you have hundreds if not thousands of options that you can contact prior to arrival and arrange to meet.
For a bloke who's here for a day (Jstlookin, the OP) these are the 4 options one has for metro Manila.
1) Closest to NAIA is Resorts World Casino that has 3 hotels. If you have arranged to meet girls from dating sites I'd stay here. There are FLs who hang out at the casino. Nearby you also have a couple of KTVs with massage parlour - look up Air Force 1. Potential downsides: A) Dating site girl no shows. B) KTVs are expensive. C) Far from all the well-known bar and FL areas.
2) Next nearest to NAIA is EDSA Entertainment Complex in Pasay. Nothing happening in the afternoon. By taxi you're not too far away from Harrison Plaza to hunt for afternoon FLs, but the commute on Roxas Blvd could be very slow. Stay at the Victoria Court rather than Heritage. Try to get a dating site girl for the afternoon. Good looking girls at EDSA. Potential downsides: A) Dating-site girl no shows. B) Nothing to your liking at Harrison. C) EDSA is expensive. Note: you could stay near Harrison Plaza and then choose between LA Cafe or EDSA for night action.
3) Next nearest is Burgos (take the skyway). Plenty of hotels in the immediate area. Girls available in the afternoon. A lot a girls are attractive. Not too far from Havana for night time hook up or just stay at Burgos. Some FLs at the Bellagio Hotel's restaurant, but watch out for ladyboys there. Potential downsides: A) Burgos bar fine is expensive. You may be able to find an afternoon happy-hour discount at some bars. B) Traffic from / to NAIA.
4) Ermita. Due to the congestion at the Manila port Roxas Blvd is doing its best to resemble a parking lot; your commute from NAIA to Ermita could be a very slow one. LAC is pretty much your only viable option for daytime FLs; night-time crowd is better. Read the FRs and you'll find opinions on their attractiveness. Plenty of hotels in the area. Robinson's Mall for the wandering. Potential downsides: A) Unattractive girls at LAC. B) Traffic from NAIA to Ermita. C) Nothing to your liking at Robinson's.
Pick one.
If you have time before your arrival test the dating-site waters; if you are getting a lot of attention, i.e. the girls are initiating contact and are eager to meet, then I'd pursue that course. Make sure you are clear in your communication what you expect and where you expect to meet - it ought to be at your hotel. Skype/ym/videochat with them beforehand to verify attractiveness and genuine gender.

Now that was plenty!
Verify attractiveness and genuine gender!!!
LMFAO.
Thanks a billion to all who took the time and energy to answer my queries. I guess victoria's as EDSA is going to be my choice. I have a flight at 6 am. So I would probably need to leave the hotel at 3 or 2, not worth sleeping the night. Rather sleep through the day and get my beer and verified gender / attractiveness fine ladies in the evening at EDSA. Someone here mentioned the 2 hr routine, sounds prudent.
Now if can't cross that dreaded bridge with those little pickpocketing bastards. How am I to get across the street? I know I will figure it out when I get there but I am elucidating some more fantastic replies and info.
Many talk about dating websites. Any particular one??
Hey all,
D) there don't seem to be many real massage places.
Thanks in advance.
Oh there are bunch of them. Although not necessarily a fancy place. The service can be excellent. Based on my experience. A good technique really depends on the person that is doing it and not because they work for a certain place. For example, I went to TonTon massage. The service was rush the first time I went. There was not enough pressure the second time I went. But I went to Tonton in Cebu and the service was excellent. There is an Asian massage in Ermita and there is another one in front of Robinson mall. The cost in Asian Mansion is 300 full body massage. The one near Robinson mall doubles the price as it is frequented mostly by Japanese. (Go figure!) There are a lot of small places around Ermita. Some hair salon would offer some type of massage. Evershine Salon is rumoured to have an extra service on the second floor. enjoy The Philippines!

Regards
Assuming international flight, so for a 6 am departure you'll want to be at the terminal 2 hours before. The traffic is 330 am is light.
For dating sites I think filipinocupid is the best. It is a paid site, which is like kryptonite to keyboard harassers in mom's basement, Filipino trike drivers, and Nigerian scammers. As you're here for a day the cost-benefit analysis of a one-month membership suggests it's a bad investment; I've met so many great girls from FC that I'd pay the 1-month fee for a day's use and arrange 3 or 4 meetings. If you don't want to pay read the Chatrooms and Penpal section here.
Enjoy your stay. And post an informative FR afterward.

Dating sites?
Date in Asia: Free, huge membership, very strict naughty talk filters. Always fodder there. Work it.
Pina Love: Pay site, big membership, signal to noise ratio better, worth it.
Filipino Cupid: As for Pina Love.
There are many others but that will keep you very busy.

WIth a flight that early, I personally target a one- hour advance arrival time. I did have a taxi driver try to take the long route in order to avoid "trapic", idiot. Some of these guys are on scam autopilot. Roxas was completely empty but he wanted to take detour to avoid traffic. Manila is not a friendly place for the newcomer. They will eat you alive if you show any weakness.

Thank you all for the info and reports. I arrived in Manila last night and had fun at LA Cafe. Didn't realize the upstairs charged 100 pesos for entry for the live band.
Tonight I'm going to check out EDSA. If anyone would like to meet up drop me a PM.
