Most of the girls I know are working hard to support their families or saving for the future. OK, I don't doubt some are cashing in on their good looks and willingness to oblige, then spending the money on a fake iPhone. But there is a continuous spectrum between hard-core hookers, free-lancers, part-time bar-girls, massage girls, hairdressers happy to earn some extra cash, college students, women looking for a husband, party girls, etc, right through to execs in big corporates. Not sure you can say: she's a "working girl" and she's a "real girl"?

Yes. Why not show them all some respect? I never understand that 'I don't respect working girls' BS. After all, if they are so despicable, and you are their client, what does that make you? It seems to me these girls just didn't want to earn 200 USD a month at 7/11 and they took the other best option available to them. I'd probably do the same in their situation. Opinions and Advice". There is a ton of info and opinions there that will tell you everything you'ld ever want to know and a lot of stuff you wish you didn't. If you have a Mia Noi, a Fan, a Gik, what you can for sure count on is that you will get headaches. Thai girls are MASTERS at playing games and trying to fuck with your head. They will have their friends "hit" on you to see if you are faithful, they will have their friends ask you to do things to see if you are Jai-dee they will have their friends follow you, they will go to your place and pay the security to watch the videotapes and see if you go home alone or not. Well, it's a long and Rocky road. Oh, did I say they are extremely jealous?

I even had to kick out a Gik because she said she loved me and was not ok for me to see other people (and she was in a relationship with some German Guy).

For me, I like the games, but you have to be strong minded and ready because they will try and make your head spin.

They all (in my opinion) started for some reason (love of sex, looking for husband, need money to buy stuff, single mums needing extra cash.) and the girls turn to Stone Cold Bitches for a reason: She got fucked over a few times by some customers, their friends introduce them to Alcohol and Drugs.

The Story that I found quite disturbing (and I am sure many have these type stories) was a girl in Thermae who was young, no kids but was forced to sell herself to pay back a loan Shark. Brother did not pay his debt and disappeared. Her family was poor and could not come up with the money so as she was the youngest, she was doing what she had to do.

A lot of people come in here and whine about the girls trying to be tricky, lazy, not liking us or being too cautious.

Well let me tell you this, more often than not, WE are the reason why they act like this.

I have heard so many stories about guys:

- being violent.

- Being Aggressive.

- Having 1 more guy waiting in the Room.

- Trying to force them to do things they don't want.

- Agreeing to a price, then paying less or not at all.

The one they hate the most is guys ordering the girls to go to their rooms. And then no-show, not be there, not answer the phone. One time a girl told me a guy wanted her to meet him at the Airport and then go to the hotel together. She took a taxi there and waited 2 hours. The guy did not show up. She messaged him and he said he was tired and went to the hotel alone to sleep. She had spent close to 800 thb Taxi.

So not she does not trust people and asks for money before she does anything. And guys will be saying "is she crazy? To ask for money upfront?"

There are things for us that are "little" but that make a big difference for some of the girls who are Poor and do this to help their children or Families.

One girl said her mum needed Blood Dialysis and Change every month so she would sleep for money to pay the hospital.

There are Sick and Crazy people out there, some of them read the Forum, silently and then go on to take advantage of these girls. These are the guys that we do not see or hear about but they are here and read the Forum.

So next time you are with a girl and she is asking for money upfront or does not trust you or dismisses you because of your nationality or ethnic background. There could be a more complicated story behind.

[/quote]so true. i think it is important to understand one thing. it is that those girls are humans in the first place. hence they deserve to be treated so i. e. with respect as one should show to any alive human being by default regardless of anything (unless that human is acting aggressively or disrespectfully himself). only then comes "prostitute", or "non-pro" or "office worker" or whatever. i hate people who show arrogance or disrespect to others (regardless of who they are) owing to their actual (or even presumed) social status. people who act disrespectfully towards others for no reason are what i would call bad-mannered or simply a "wankers". what is even more sad is that some people may know how to be polite and act so when surrounded by their family, friends and co-workers while turn into unmannered and filthy animals when not being seen by their peers. this is a problem of human's inner culture and there is nothing in the world i hate more than such double-faced individuals.

Why does it always seem to be the guys who mess up and the women who suffer for it? I know of too many families where the guys live the Thai stereotype of sitting and drinking most of day while their wives support them. How far should family loyalty go?

If you stay here long enough you will eventually run into the exception- you get lucky enough to meet one yourself or get to know one through a buddy. The thing is, they really do prove the rule. Arguing with guys who don't realize that is like arguing with someone who thinks that because he knows someone who won $10K in the lottery (don't we all?) , he can, too. I agree with you Mouse. They all have a story. And it is that story and the telling of it that puts them on one side of the line or the other. I'm over the sick buffalo needing a heart transplant but I do feel for the girls who have some genuine stories to tell and deserve a night, albeit brief, of respect and tenderness. I don't want to sound like a wanker but this is my profile just so that it is clear and to provide context.

I am 39 years old, run 10km every day day in Lumpini Park. 181 cms tall. 75 kgs. I dress fashionably and stylishly at all times and it is apparent from my appearance that I have money and am not an English teacher. I work for a multinational and am here on an expat package and have been here on and off for 7 years and speak some Thai. 85% of girls I meet on the internet are very happy to be with me as are girls that I meet casually. I am not ugly but neither am I handsome. In terms of facial appearance I am slightly above average but body wise I am in absolute top shape. I don't need to go with working girls or bar girls and I much prefer the raw sexuality of a girl that is with you purely for the pleasure with no financial incentive, however if a girl of exceptional quality catches my eye then I am interested to ask and happy to pay. By exceptional quality I mean girls of the same quality as the girl in the attached pics. She is a Penthouse Model that I met at Starbucks a few years back. Exactly the kind of girl who is now harder to find and a lot more picky which is basically what I am talking about (paid her 1, 500THB for long time and we saw each other quite often).

I always act respectfully to all people including working girls at all times. You would soon come unstuck in Thailand if you didn't. About Respect.

1. My girlfriend works for Bangkok Bank in a good position. Her family are farmers and she is from Roi Et. Her parents relocated to Rayong so they could work 18 hours a day in a factory to put their 2 daughters through university. They are great girls and both have great jobs and are moving quickly up the ladder through hard work and determination. They both now own condos in Bangkok and live within their means and help support their parents as needed which is rare. The parents would rather their children are happy and can take care of themselves until such time as they really need help when they retire. That is self respect and I respect that.

2. The woman in the condo opposite mine is from Ubon and her parents are dirt poor and she is as dark skinned as coal. Up until 8 years ago she spoke not a word of English and had a low level office job. She scrimped and saved and starved herself to learn and study English which she now speaks fluently. Never sold her body or even thought of any such thing. Today she is the manager of one division of a multinational insurance company and makes 200, 000THB per month. That is self respect and I respect that.

3. A friend from Sisaket who had the bravery to disown her family as they constantly bled her dry. Worked 3 jobs to save enough money to buy dresses in bulk and then sell them on to buyers in Thailand. Now has a very successful business and her own condo and car and takes regular overseas vacations. Never sold her body to do it and was brave enough to confront reality. That is self respect and I respect that.

All of the above girls come from dirt poor backgrounds but rose above adversity through hard work, determination and self respect. There are thousands of Thais like this including all the girls in our office who don't own BB's or ipads or expensive clothes and don't have nose jobs. They live within their means and are nice 'normal' girls just like anywhere else in the world.

The girls selling their bodies are brought up with an inherent lack of self belief and lack of self respect and their families are happy for them to sell their bodies so that brother Somchai can have a new motorcycle, the family can have a new TV or worst of all the family back in Nakon Nowehere can have a nice shiny 4 wheel drive in the driveway to show face even though no one in the family can drive it. If you spend your whole holiday in the tourist areas of Bangkok then these are mostly the people and children of these families that you meet. I feel sorry for the girls as they are part of a system that breeds lack of self respect for material gain. In retrospect it may be fair to say it is not that I don't have respect for the girl but for the system they come from. The vast majority of Thais are hard working people who want the best for their children and are prepared to work hard to give them the best. I regret to say that the girls you see in bars and freelancer joints come from lazy families who are happy for their daughters to sell their soul in the belief that it is for the better good (giving the family honour and face through material belongings). It is a great shame for Thailand and upsets many Thais that it is this section of Thai society that many foreigners base their judgements on.

Again without meaning to sound like a wanker, I don't think you can truly understand Thailand until you work here every day amongst every day Thai people instead of having only exposure to this minority section of Thais that care only about material goods and are happy for their daughters to sell their souls.

So don't get confused into thinking they are turning you down out of self respect or because they want wonderful sex! They are waiting for a guy who will come quickly, not be too vigorous and will pay the most and hopefully have a small penis! They didn't used to do that :)
