At least you don't have to worry about the police smashing down the door and dragging you off to the clink, which is comforting.

Korea is a long game- it takes time to scour under every rock and look under every nook and cranny, but if you stay long enough you'll eventually find a few gems to hang on to.

I happened to be in the area this past weekend and I saw the district lighting up around 6 pm, so I decided to give it a walk through. The good part is that there were a large number of shops open and all were accomodating to foreigners. The bad part is that about 80% of those that are open are a '5' at best, most are a '3', and some I had no idea how they worked there.

There were a few '7's and when I stopped and talked to a couple, the going rate was 100 K. One was a little older and looked pretty good with large fake breasts and decent body. I left with the intention to revisit in the morning when going for a run. Around 5 AM when I did run through, every shop was closed, the lights were off, and all had gone home or sleep or whatever they do when they stop working. Oh well, guess not this time, but at least I got to see it and report.

In the old days there would be some real stunners working, but this time wasn't the case. There also were a LOT of third country nationals in the area, hanging around, walking through, negotiating with the women, so it had a different vibe than previous times. There were even shops where the women were Asian, but not Korean (or Thai or Chinese), which was unusual- and a first that I'd seen.

The takeaway is that it's there and it's still running, for the most part.
