Bangkok Reports

For my second and third (last) evenings on Soi Cowboy I look into different bars. As my memory is a bit faint, there may be some small errors here, also for some of the bars I just look onto them quickly. In general I like Soi Cowboy, even though I have some negative comments also.

OVERVIEW:

Lucky Star / Long Gun: disappointing after the the reviews I've read beforehand, boring show and unpretty girls. But I may have been unlucky with the timing.

Rawhide: ok, but nothing special.

Five Star and Apache: small places, ok. Outside one of them a girl is desperate to get me in. A bit annoying when they grab your arm and hold it.

Deja Vu: now it's getting better: a bigger place with more girls to choose from, but I am not very impressed.

Tilac: a large place, mixed quality. Some nice girls her.

Kiss: this place looks good at first. Only beautiful girls and easy to find a place to sit. But: after a while I get the impression that the girls here are uptight, none of them looks at me, and I cannot see any other customer with a girl. All this a sign of bad attitude, but I might be wrong. Correct me then! Also they have these irritating blinking light.

After Skool: few girls and none of them interesting.

Suzie Wong: the best. All beautiful girls and they seem nice too. Excellent nude shows.

Dollhouse: Ok, some good-looking ones.

Shark: This place gave me a good first impression. Beautiful girls and (opposite of Kiss) they make eye-contact with you from stage, good! But after a while I notice a couple of things; many of the girls have large stretch-marks on their bellies. Also some of them gets too pushy. «Buy me a drink! Barfine me! »

I declined.

On to Pattaya for more fun.

Bottom line I did not take a girl on this trip to Bangkok as they wanted money beyond what I thought was reasonable. (I know I am spoiled)

I do agree about suzy wong being one of the best places. But I had a night that was not very good there.

But one aspect of rural Thai life is there is very little emphasis on education. Many kids stop going to school when they are about 12 years old. They are also not supervised much in the village as they grow up. It is safe in the village and it plays out like one big happy family. Ma & Pa are more than happy to ship these feral kids (boys and girls) off to work once they are old enough. Usually it is only the girls who send money home.

My advice to mongers coming to Thailand on holiday is bring an open mind, a fairly large stack of cash, and no unrealistic expectations other than you are nothing more than a target for crafty working girls looking to maximize their baht. The smiles are fake, the moans are fake, and the potential for problems very real. But as Nic writes, if you take control of the situation you can still have a good time with great memories for your flight back to wherever.

It is still 'OK' (and rather near my hotel) but nowhere near as good as it used to be in its 'glory days' of perhaps 10/15 years ago, when it was ABSOLUTLY GREAT and, in my opinion THEN, the best of the 'big three' in BKK!

Yes, you can still find an interesting 'playmate' if you are lucky in many of the Go-go's. Also, Safari and some of the other bars are still reasonable for an early evening drink and the possibility of some good company SOMETIMES!

Also, we must not forget Star of Light which is a BKK institution in itself.

But, I am afraid that so much of the fun of Patpong has now disappeared together with the redevelopment and bar closures of recent years!

As it says in the song 'Fings Ain't Wot They Used T'Be! '

Oh well, perhaps I am getting old!

Buddhism tells us that there's no buying or selling going on here, and nothing to do with souls. It's just short-term rental of certain body parts. And there's no magic line between good and bad girls. It's one long continuum. But there's got to be a better place to discuss it than here, clogging up the Bangkok forum.

Check my posts PP, I am legit. If you know Thailand then you know the jist of what I am saying is spot on.

The fact is if you are young, clean, inshape and polite and have a good job and nice centrally located apartment you can have a different girl everyday for free via the internet and other usual means. The group of guys I know have at times been through periods of 2 or 3 different free girls per day almost every day for weeks on end. Its the reality, but that type of action by its nature is limited to guys that are living here (you can't meet a girl in Bangkok for a lunchtime tryst if you are living in Sweden and largely they are not interested in people passing through).

The ISG is awesome for information for other locations but as you can clearly see I rarely post on the Bangkok thread or read it. As with all forums it is interesting to see peoples replies to your comments which is why I posted what I posted.
