After arrival, about halfway between the gate and immigration, all documents were checked. But not by health authorities I think, but just immigration people or some other kind of officers.
Then at immigration I had to hand over all documents again to get the visa exemption stamp.
The PCR-test was not taken at the airport but at my hotel, by a nurse from a hospital. And all she needed was my passport.

Has anyone had experience with the 24/7 test & go claims by the sha+ hotels? Was planning on arriving around midnight, but don't want to be forced to pay another day if they actually won't test you until morning. On that note, is there any requirement on leaving the airport through private transit, or can you just grab a taxi?

It's included in your package so not sure why you would want to pay for your own taxi. You will get to stay at your SHA Plus hotel until you get your test results back no matter what time you arrive. You will not have to pay for a 2nd night. Always good to confirm that first with any hotel you are considering.

One of the best Thai places ever was in a city where I never expected it to be, and that was in Portland, Oregon of all places. The meal was even served in traditional Thai dishware, which is also a very unusual occurrence in the States, at least for me and the places I have been to. Otherwise, having had lots of Thai food in Thailand itself, I always come away thinking "you're duping these Minnesotans, you're duping these Minnesotans" LOL! Now in Latin America, what I have found is that a lot of so-called "Thai" restaurants are really some kind of "Asian fusion" joint only loosely identifiable as "Thai" restaurants. The food might be tasty, but it most definitely is not Thai food!

You should pick a hotel that does the covid test on site. I had to go to a hospital after I landed and the drive time plus the wait at the hospital took two hours. Took the test at 4 pm and got the result at 6 am the next morning.

While eating there about 15 years ago, I asked her if that was what restaurants in Thailand were like. She said she didn't know, she had never been to Thailand. The kitchen staff was Vietnamese and the dining room staff was Korean. The dishes had been adjusted to keep her customers happy, mostly USA and Korean people. The sign still says it is Thai. So much for authentic.

Now that I've experienced real Thai food many times, I can say conclusively that it isn't even close.

They just often have additional dishes to suit the western palette a bit more in addition to the normal stuff, and often leave out lots of regional cuisines.

Its common to see Vietnamese food in thai restaurants in areas with a larger Vietnamese population or there is a Vietnamese owner, although the opposite is not true, you rarely find thai in a Vietnamese restaurant.

Planning is great, but in Thailand, too much planning can ruin your trip.

The best thing you can do is to have flexibility.

1. There are so many different things to try, P4 P or otherwise.

2. You might not like some girls you pre-booked.

3. You might really like a girl you had sex with and want to see her more.

4. You may want to change your itinerary and stay more / less in one area.

What I would suggest is to book your first nights in Bangkok, get an escort for the first night and set yourself a schedule for the other days:

- Oily Massage.

- Soapy Massage.

- Gogo bars.
