I recall the trip taking 4hrs +. Either leave early morning or late night. Some are still in bed when the bus arrives for pickup, Bell Travel. From the centre Bangkok to the airport. 2hrs. Once the bus leaves Suvarnbhumi airport. 2hrs to Pattaya. Waste of the entire day, I learnt this too.

The next month I will reach Pattaya and I have just booked a hotel on Soi 13.
On the forum you often speak about bars. Yes I will visit some bars even if I don't like to drink but I'd like to get my hunting on the street.
What are the best streets with the best picking up in Pattaya? I'd like some street not very far from Soi 13.

Has What's Up changed? I knew they changed their name slightly, but the last time I was there, about a year ago, it was about the same as it has been. A little pricey, but lots of nudity, great shower shows and friendly girls.

Taxi from hotel to bus station in BKK.
Buy ticket and wait for bus.
Bus journey to Pattaya at about 80 kph, with several stops, including one long comfort stop.
Arrive at bus station in Pattaya.
Hire baht bus to take me to hotel.
Hotel was off WS, so baht bus couldn't get too close. Walk remaining distance to hotel dragging suitcase.
Nowadays:
Taxi from hotel to hotel.
Er, that's it.

There is a new place in Soi LK Metro called Chrystal club, although I have not actually been in there people I know in Pattaya tell me there some hot girls and I have seen some pictures on Facebook, very tasty.

The bus is consistently two hours nowadays, hardly ever more. I take it all the time. The new expressway plus typically no stops at all mean a very quick trip. Taking a taxi isn't really much quicker, and the taxis in Thailand ride like coal-carts (actually all modern cars do) , so the bus is more comfortable as well as cheaper.

Er, that's it.[/QUOTE]Well, if you calculate the time for arriving Ekkamai, and all the sorts of time consuming activities until arriving in your room at Patt, than it might be in requires for 4 hrs or more.
For many reason I have arrived in Pat in morning and return back to BKK in end of the day several times. I have been used buses, taxis or own driven car. But I never been experienced the buses get several stops on the way. Just dropping the passengers on their destination with in the city. Even considering these the buses takes time just over 2+ hrs (from BKK to pat). It will not surprising to say that, taxis usually consumed more time than buses, surely more of pretty 20mins. And self driven cars are awful to me only for the over carefulness to be keep safe in long drive. Always I feel safe to travel by bus for longer distance other than using of taxi or self driven car.

The bus you took which I did once by mistake most likely was the local one that stops often and goes through route 34 the old Chon Buri route. The Bell bus from the airport is no more than 2 hours tops to the station at Pattaya Nua, the bus I take from inside BKK Ekamai is around 2. 5 if it has to makes stops going through Chon Buri, Lam Chambang, Siricha and up Sukhumvit.

Look guys, I really don't care how you travel. I'm just making the point that the hotel door-to-hotel door times, bus vs taxi, are significantly different. The bus is a lot cheaper, and if you're living in LOS or on a long vacation, that is fine. If you are just there for a short break then just grab a cab, especially if you have a suitcase.
As an example, last trip I paid 860 baht for a taxi from Pattaya to the airport, leaving my hotel at 21:30 to catch an 00:20 flight. What time would you leave your hotel to catch a bus to the airport for that flight?
