This paper addresses HIV transmission rates. For me, the take away point is to never get butt fucked.
https://www.catie.ca/sites/default/files/HIV-TRANSMISSION-RISK-EN.pdf.
Yes, although I know for a fact I have never been fucked in the butt, never shared a needle, never gotten a blood transfusion and never engaged in the kind of blood-letting, skin tearing sexual rituals some Sub Saharan African cultures engage in, the girl I have just met can't know that, even if she knew how astronomically low the chances are she would even meet an HIV-positive heterosexual male much less have sex with him enough times to present a reasonable risk of getting infected herself.
So I stop by Thai Red Cross and get the 1 hour, 200 baht test for it every 2-3 months in case someone wants to see my test result document.
BTW, since the topic of the HIV transmission inhibiting drug PrEP was mentioned, I can also report that not once has the various Thai Red Cross counselors who hand me my negative test result document behind closed doors ever suggested or recommended I take that drug.
I know PrEP is available at the Thai Red Cross testing clinic I go to. I think you can get it practically for free there. And in the little interview the counselors conduct before they give you the test result, I reply that I have multiple female sexual partners, no regular girlfriend or wife and never wear a condom during sexual intercourse.
Yet not one time in the dozens of interviews has the counselor said anything about perhaps I should start taking PrEP or even mentioned it.
Just sayin'.
