Man, those sound like fun times.
Man, those sound like fun times.
Yep, but like I said to a guy that has been there 30-40 years, 20 years ago was not all that great!
Thanks for the memories Prtyr2.
I remember a certain poster would stay at Riazor and walk out onto the balcony at night. Look down on Independencia and summon up one or two chicas without ever leaving his room. Let's not forget the colmado on Independencia across from Navarro Hotel. That was the meeting spot for ISG members and chicas every night of the week.
Pacos always had at least two inside tables with chicas every night of the week.
At Prtyr2, I hear the same crap from guys trying to tell me SD and BC are ten times better today than it was ten years ago. They have no clue.
I have been visiting Santo Domingo since 1998, about 50 trips. It was better before than now, the internet era. I loved to walk from guest friendly Jaragua to El Conde and to receive propositions every time I did the walk. It was not rare walking the alleys from main Jaragua building to garden rooms and having a chat with a couple of service providers. Girls were basically everywhere, not only on El Conde area. I remember a 100% gay free Pacos, also with a higher percentage of the clients being service providers. Tho only bizarre thing in the area was a guy chasing girls, offering balloons and ham and cheese sandwiches.
Lapsus had a strip show with girls wearing sexy costumes stripping to full nude. Elegant Center had massage tables, it was on Pasteur, with good prices for full service. Jaragua casino was packed with full service providers, it was common seen over a dozen of them together inside Merengue bar. Yes, I remember the sight of girls from Riazor rooms. Scene has changed but you can still have a good time.
Ptyr I also went to Felix Cachet. Somebody tolds us go there that is the best place on the city. We went there and my butt was pinched and slapped a few times by ugly chicas while I was walking to the bar. We usually rate girls from 1 to 10, that was the first time I rated girls from -1 to -10.
Please provide info of the MP near sports bank on Pasteur.
Many thanks, Mr. Knowledge. I usually go through my roster of busty cupid chicas but sometimes like to branch out. I stay in Gascue or Colonial Zone. Most of these are near there, yes? Are any of them populated by the chi chis muy grande? Jjajajajajaj.
QUOTE Knowledge I'm going to assume everybody is up to date on the Pasteur strip. The places come and go with slightly different names. Some of the other places you can still visit today QUOTE.
Of course girls are still everywhere. It's only the quantity of organized casas and massage parlors that has gone down in central residential areas like Gazcue and Ensanche Quisqueya. There are still just as many but they are not as convenient as in the 80's and 90's. Back then, like Boricua says, everything was within easy walking distance to the big foreigner hotels on the Malecon and the Colonial Zone. Now, you have to drive or use uber or taxis. Quite a few places are in or west of Los Prados. In the other direction, east of the river, there are lots of places but they are in out of the way locations and not convenient for visiting foreigners. It's the result of the post Hipolito tourism ministries looking to get rid of the Dominican Republic's worsening reputation as a sex tourist destination. It's hard to deny that when you have dozens of touts yelling at every passing car and pedestrian on Pasteur and pointing to blinking neon signs.
My opinion is that it isn't any worse now than 25-30 years ago. It is just different. I am saying this first hand, not based on what I read or what somebody told me. It's normal that things change. I also remember back in those days it was hard to find international cuisine in Santo Domingo. Today, there are 4 major restaurant rows with every kind of food from world class gourmet restaurants, mid range chains like Chilis and Applebees, and the low end McDonalds, Sbarros, etc. It's all good.

Not so much for quantity or location of places but attitude of the chicas. Back then anything less than GFE was rare. Now guys have to negotiate up front for BBJ, DFK or TLN? That was the norm back then. If you are into the pick a hot chica out of the lineup, maybe not as much difference. I was always more about chemistry or personality. At remington, they would line up but usually there would be a shy one in the back just making eye contact. They were usually the most fun. Also gringos were more of a novelty.
Another difference I noticed at some point. Back in the day, 95% of the chicas "working" were single moms looking to support the kids or pay for university. I remember the first few times chicas said they had no kids and were not studying. They were in it for the "bling". The chicas started having better cels than I did. The quality and brands of clothes improved. The frequency of salon visits, hair extensions, boob jobs etc went up. I can say that I actually did very little actual mongering. Most chicas I went with I got the vibe that had we met under other circumstances we still may have hooked up.
I used to dig the "piano bars". Full of 'waitresses". No formal policy, no salidas. Chicas were there to serve drinks, dance and flirt. Businessmen would buy a bottle of Scotch and just enjoy the company of a young attractive chica and most times then head home to the wife. They were buying attention mostly and sex occasionally. Girls were not obligated to go out with clients. The customers tipped very well and the chicas could make much more than in a normal job, but not have to be a hooker if she didn't want to. Sure many wound up with novios, amantes, patrones etc that would help with expenses in exchange for company and sex. Most of these places closed. Maybe because the clientele tended to be older and maybe they go out less now. I also noticed many times a guy would buy a bottle of Johnnie walker Green or even blue, but the three chicas at his table would only look up once in a blue moon from WhatsApp chatting with amigas, novios, clients etc. I am sure many customers found better ways to spend their money and there are only a few places like that still around. One actually makes the girls deposit cels in a box before shift starts.
Over the years I lost most interest in mongering, though I totally get the appeal. In the old days out of 10 chicas 6 may be good, 3 great and one not so good. By good I mean, better than 90% of today's but not great by the standards back then. Now I think what was great back then is like a unicorn now and what was good or ok back then is great now.
I guess the DR is like pizza. Even when not so great, it is still pretty good.
Going to casas is never a high for me. Girls in casas are fucking everyday. If they can manufactor GFE they are very talented. I enjoy SD but I use the pros sparingly. I will do an occasional SW but for me the cupid girls are my play. Having a girlfriend to see the city with is always a blast. Iam little north of 60 so trolling for babes is nolonger my strong suit. I have enough girls in my phone that I can orchestrate an amazing time there.
Guys having to negotiate for kissing or BBJ is news to me. I have to read this forum more often. I would never have guessed this to be the case.

Welcome back bro! If only for a brief visit.

Imagine just reaching retiring age and only discovering mongering today and realizing you're 30 yrs later to the game! For me, I had found the DR and Sosua at the tail-end of 2008. I would say that 2009-early 2010 was right before what many consider the place going to shit (mostly due to improvements in internet speeds and SMS / Smart Phone communication ironically).
When cleanups happened, most chicas moved their game online to places like Badoo, Cupid, Facebook, etc. It's a lot easier to find chicas looking for money without having to go trolling up and down the block looking for them. Probably a lot safer in this regard in some ways.
I'm sure a lot of you would agree that trying to schedule things with chicas via SMS has been a lot easier than via email, than via cell phone calls, than via pay phones, than via post cards and mailing letters, hahaha!
Sure, blame it on cell phones and the Internet. Like I said, the game is different now but I don't really consider it any worse. In a way it's easier because when you meet a girl on the street and want to see her later you can exchange details and maintain contact until you meet again. In the old days it was, "meet me here tomorrow at 3 pm."

Probably for the better, without factoring the gringo novelty effect being much diminished. The casas and "mongering" to me has gone downhill. Doesn't really effect me at all and if newer guys have nothing to compare it to, I am sure it is still pretty darn good.
Yes, I think you are right. Consider this also, gringos in the Dominican Republic have not been a novelty since long before anyone reading this was born. It's not like the Colonial Zone was only frequented by Dominicans until the Internet era. I think more of the gringos in those days were from Europe than North America. The Dominican Republic, on the other hand, was a novelty for all of us at one time or another or even now in some cases. That is what wears off over time, the novelty of the Dominican Republic to us.

New to this areas for mongering (usually go to Asia) but going to be able to get away for a week the last of May. Need some input from some of you BMs as to best place to go in PR. Been around for a few years and like them tiny.
TIA for any info.
