And to MK: not that I have the wrong hobby. It's just that I like someone who has accepted the situation. I find a smile on an average face a lot more pleasing than a frown on a beauty.

Two imponderable questions (No, not about traffic, about rents, about the lack of parking these days):[list][*]The Seaview certainly has a tasty bar menu, so why can't the Rattlesnake serve decent food? The Metropolitan is not exactly a small hotel; there must be several restaurants on the premises. So how difficult would it be to incorporate SOME menu items from the other restaurants on-site, e.g., the Italian one. Yes, they would have to walk the food over, but I wouldn't mind a 5 dhs [i]carrying[/i] charge. At Seaview, there are several menu items I REALLY like, but at the 'Snake? It's chosing the lesser of a number of evils.
[*]When is the 'Snake going to get rid of [i]Ponce[/i] de Leon and his heifers? I understand there are different music styles, but... One venue where I will appreciate the arrival of Ramadan.[/list]

Funny thing about skype. It used to work fine at Kuwait compared to UAE. I used to buy credit using my UAE Credit Card from there. Surprising to note the unofficial ban here. But this does not seem to be uniform. I spent the last 3 days at Ras Al Khaimah and skype was working there at our site office where they had a wireless network. Today I am back in Abu Dhabi. It does not work at our office, but surprisingly works at my home where I have an Al Shamil connection. Very strange are the ways of the phone company. I do not know whether to compliment them or write a note of appreciation for them. Anyway, just wanted to rant a bit about the phone company.

You guys have it great compared to Qatar. Unfortunately due to changes in work travel, I get to Dubai less and less these days.
Last time in town was a few months back. I had dinner with a good buddy and we headed to Cylcone to drink and play pool. Yes, of course, we had other intentions but we did drink and play pool. We both left at the end of the night empty handed by choice. (Actually I had lined up one PRC to meet me back at my hotel.)
It got late and we finally were told it was closing time. On the way out, the parking lot and the adjacent road were lined with Africans. I do have a penchant for dark meat, but had already booked my PRC. I assume these dark beauties are saving the entrance fee in hopes of catching a customer on the way outat the end of the night.
Does anybody know how early this parade starts?

This is a long overdue report of a night I spent at Dubai enroute on one of my trips a couple of months back. I had to travel via Dubai during end June from Kuwait. My flight was reaching dubai at night and I had the other flight to catch the next morning. I decided to spend a night at Dubai rather than waste my time travelling to Abu Dhabi and back. I booked myself at Hotel Panorama Deira (which was the cheapest) through the internet and was looking forward to a fruitful night. The hotel is ok and has clean sheets and toilet, but could do with an improvement in the maintenance and decor which of course would have increased the tariffs.
As I was not following the forum since it was not accessible at Kuwait, I was not aware about the raids on York. Since I had read reports about Regal Plaza last year, decided to give it a try. After landing in, checked into the Hotel. As mentioned in the hotel thread, the hotel can be considered yellow. I enquired about the entry of guests and was informed that they would be allowed with a passport copy and an additional charge of 50 dhs.
Since the possibility of bringing guest was there, I ventured out to the Rockafellas at Regal at around 10.30 pm. Paid the entry fee of 50 dhs and utilised the free drink that comes with the ticket. There were very few girls and most of the girls were busy with themselves and not active. Most of the girls were only 5/6. The WG were mostly CIS. I had kept a deadline of midnight to make a deal. With the passage of time, there were some more WG's entering, but nothing much to write home about. Most of the girls also had an attitude and I did not venture to make any conversation for the next hour or so seeing the attitude. Finally got talking to a couple of girls, but could not make a deal as either the rates were high or the conditions were not met. I had kept a target of midnight to make a deal, but midnight passed and there were still no results. Since this was the only night I had at Dubai, the little head started ruling my thinking. There was one short girl whom I had observed for quite sometime and after breaking the ice with her, she seemed eager to market herself, but I was not very enthused and kept putting of the deal with her citing her asking rate to be high. Finally it was approaching 1 pm and I was becoming desperate. Then I suddenly made an eye contact with a huge Mama who was near the bar and got some positive response. Her name was Lisa and she was aroudn 5ft 6 inches tall, a bit on the older side with a huge body. Opened negotiations with her and settled for LT at 500 dhs.
While we came out she called out for a special taxi (not the normal ones which are around) and we reached the hotel. Once we reached the hotel passport copy was given and additional fee paid and no hassle. The hotel staff were staring at her as she was a bit boldly dressed. Once in the room, she started to say that she could have come in her car and that her room was also quite nearby. She asked for payment upfront and when I said I would pay in the morning, she said that she had some bad experiences before and did not want to take risk. So I made the payment at the room which was my mistake no 1. We had a nice session followed by quite a bit of small talk. Since the world cup was also on, other than the football, there was nothing much of interest in the TV program also. She was hurrying for one more round and I was asking her what is the hurry, then she says that her car is parked at the hotel and she has to back before 3 pm to pick up the car. I said that it would be safe at the hotel and she could pick it up anytime, but she was adamant and wanted to go back. Her intention was clear to turn an LT into ST and go for another deal at the bar later. I told her that I did not appreciate since she was breaking the agreement. She seemed not to care and said that anyway she was not willing to spend the night in the room since she does not sleep. Since I could not do anything further, decided to mark it as a bad experience. This is the second instance of a CIS WG trying to convert an agreet LT into an ST. So my advise to all of you guys is to avoid this lady Lisa as she does not honor her commitments.

I'd suggest stating that you intend to pay "after" BEFORE you leave the bar. That way, she knows the score. If she does not agree, then you know the score. Both of you can make your decisions accordingly.
If not agreeable to a pay after in the bar, you might try for a ST rate, with the suggestion that if service is good, the ST can be extended to LT. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But at least discussions in the bar can avoid surprises later (well, most of the time). And if she changes back at your place, and it's still a reasonable hour, then BOTH of you can head back to the bar for a better deal. Sometimes that "let's go back to the bar" can bring a real seachange... sometimes not.

Decided to pop in at Rattlesnake on the way back from RAK to Abu Dhabi. Entered at around 9.30 pm. No entry fee. There were some WG's sitting outside. The place was quite sparse with around 20/25 girls, mostly chinese WGs and around 10/15 males mostly caucasian. The girls were trying to pitch themselves mostly with these males, but many were not successful. A couple of girls could be considered as A listers, but the others were mostly 5/6. There were some non WG also I feel. There was one elderly gentleman probably with his wife or girlfriend and probably they were trying to size up the girls for a threesome, but it looked as if they were not fancied by anyone. (My guess). One girl with a nice body and rack introduced herself as Maria from Kazhakstan. But could not discuss further her as she moved away.
Around 10.30 pm a few african girls also entered the bar. Got approached by a couple of Chinese girls one of whom was quite attractive. The attractive one wanted to know where I stay in Dubai. When I informed that I do not stay in Dubai and was not planning to go to any hotel, she lost interest. In the meantime Maria also drifted in and again wished me and moved on. The other girl was more pushing and wanted to know if I needed a massage. Since I did not fancy her much, I said that I was not interested and was planning on going back. She said that we could go back to her room. It was approaching 11 and I also had a long drive back to AD before taking rest and refused her with the plea that I had to go back to work the next morning.

Of course, I always make resolution to do this, but each time in the bar the little head starts making decisions which are not very rational. I have walked out a few times from the bar without making any deals, but that night I had become desperate as I was losing time and had the program to catch the next flight.

I actually agree with 11B to a certain extent. I always seem to manage to make frowners smile though - and not always because of the size of my wallet.
On the subject of departure time I always get commitment to all night. This has to be clear to her (or them ;-)) at outset, often I insist on agreement to a shot in the morning as well. Getting up after the first shot is difficult to deal with if you paid upfront, but getting agreement on outset mitigates the chances of this happening.
As 11B often says its amazing what being nice to them will do, offer something from the room service menu or get a take away. Always always have alchohol available, they all drink and it oils the wheels. The issue of the amount of time with you then fades away. Another good trick is to have a bikini for the size of woman you enjoy (can cause raised eyebrows at airport customs) in the room and ask if they want a dip in the pool later. These girls often live in rough 2nd rate overcrowded accomodation and the bonus of fun as well as work goes a long way.
I never pay in advance but if things get sticky I will offer 50% up front show them the balance and put it in the safe. If they refuse that then they can leave with just the taxi fare only, if they argue threaten a call to the management. Fear of authority and LE goes long way and is one advantage of lodging the visa copy at reception. Alternatively we can both go back to the bar together, lost time and opportunity for both.

Friend of mine from Qatar recently visited as did another ISG monger, both say barren is an understatement. One says a few PRC but ugly looking as well.
Shame I really feel sorry for you in Qatar ;)

I also tend to agree with 11B. Treat them well and they remember you, like you and tell their friends which is great when they move on or you need variety.
Bought some chocolates for some of my admirers a while back, nice and expensive and the room all liked it and thus all liked me, had lots of SMS saking me to take them as Miss XYZ had said I was a nice guy (which I am for any doubters)
I never negotiate a morning shot(s), just seems to happen as you have heard on a number of occasions ;) Must be my charm......
As you know I have a few accessories as well and the ladies seem to like them. Have no pool but they seem to like the view (and I don't just mean WR ;)) from the balcony which as you know all too well is a great place to shag while watching the ocean :)

At certain hours, they need escorts EVEN WHEN PAYING THE ENTRANCE FEE, to enter. Baffles me. And, with the "smaller" (not necessarily in physical size) bars, there can be both [i]civilian[/i] couples and [i]date[/i] couples.

It's just a simple remark, after price has been negotiated, that you add: "OK, xxx dhs, give money in morning." Now she knows. If she objects, then you can make the decision on what to do: continue or move on. In the bar, you have the advantage; many other targets. At your place, she has the advantage... especially if it's a "downtown" hotel.

It's not a bluff. Again, why I like to pull early. But if you don't do it IMMEDIATELY, then you've just agreed to her position.

I am specific as to WHEN (as in what hour) they will depart - after all, 6am is "morning". Think it's a bit easier when living in the 'burbs; although catching a taxi is quite easy, it does not look as such. But if I was living in the city, I would definitely make sure of the deal before leaving the bar. Perhaps my bias, but I've found the PRC's less likely to skate, CIS more so.

At times, I have handed over the money up front, as I had a good feel. Other times, it's been an issue, a REAL show-stopper, and it has been back to the bar. Problem is, I never seem to have any change for that 50%...

Had a bad experience yesturday, picked a CIS from TGIT, the group is usually seen at Imperial, agreed 200 for ST. Boarded the car on reaching the residence she and another girl who hitched a ride make a dash to the building and disappeared, as I was busy paying the cab, had parted with the cash already as I had found her familiar face. The watchman of the building bhd imperial accousted me asking where and why I was going. Maybe on the payroll
Regulars should be able to identify the group at the Imperial venue.
