A Customs agent in Washington, DC took my notebook computer from me when I returned from a solo trip to Europe(I flew back from Amsterdam) in October of 2006.

As far as I am concerned the only flag I could possibly send up was that I was single and I was returning from Amsterdam(concerned with drugs?).
I use my notebook purely for recreational purposes(for the Internet) since I am semi-retired but I do look frequently at adult websites.
Since this has happened I am paranoid beyond belief and plan to re-format my drive before I enter the US in the future. Since I keep nothing "on disk"
this will not present a problem for me but I would rather not to go through the bother if I don't have to.
Questions: Is my hobby of enjoying adult sites against the law and will re-
formatting my hard drive erase my website "visit trail" under normal
Customs examination?
Not that I would but curious if returning to the US with adult DVDs
is violating Custom rules?

And although this place has laid out prices upfront, the bill at the end of an evening could set you back more than you expected, especially if the sole purpose for the visit was to simply pull one particular girl. You see it often in Thailand, you'll see some dork looking farang, teacher more than likely, in shirt, tie and trousers on weekend, sweating profusely, carrying shopping bags and accompanied by a grotesque looking Thai girl. Hey Downtowner, thanks for the heads up in that article. Last time I returned from LOS to LAX I got searched pretty thorughly. Me, a 50 yr old white farang, singled out of a 747 arrival of ~450 people. Suspect it was profiling, as the officer went into my camera and looked at every pic. Lucky for me I emailed the girls pics even though they were of age. But some look very young at certain camera angles, and what a nightmare that can bring! Personally I don't need the hassle.
