I sometimes pass through Dubai, Qatar and Bahrain and this is what I found in todays' newspaper. Does this potentially mean good news on the russian front?

NEW walk-in visas for Indians and Russians visiting Bahrain will boost business and tourism, a top official declared yesterday.
They will be granted two-week visit visas on arrival in Bahrain under a system being implemented "very soon".
Their countries are being added to the list of countries approved by Bahrain for visas on arrival, said Interior Ministry Under-Secretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa .
Currently, nationals of 35 countries are granted visas on arrival at entry points, including Bahrain International Airport and King Fahad Causeway.
India and Russia are being added to this list as part of a government plan to encourage more business and family visits to Bahrain, Shaikh Rashid told the GDN.
"The move will further develop tourism and promote Bahrain as a destination for tourists, families and businessmen from India and Russia," he noted.
"It will substantially contribute to the development of Bahrain's economy in general and that of tourism, trade and commerce in particular."
The visitors should carry a valid passport and a return ticket and provide either hotel reservation details or family contacts in Bahrain.
The new flexible rules will come into force very soon, said Shaikh Rashid.
The countries whose nationals are already granted visas on arrival now are: Germany, France, Luxembourg, Belgium, Holland, the UK, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Finland, Austria, Denmark, Switzerland, Norway, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the US, Japan, Hong Kong, Portugal, Greece, Brunei, Malaysia, Monaco, Iceland, San Mario, Vatican, Honduras, Liechtenstein, Singapore, Republic of China, Thailand and Turkey.
Nationals of Britain and Ireland are granted a three-month visa and others a two-week visa, at a cost of BD5.
The visa can be extended for a further two weeks through the General Directorate of Nationality, Passports and Residence. Shaikh Rashid warned that there would be hefty penalties for those who misuse the facilities and overstay in the country.[/quote][QUOTE=Rene02]Hi fellow mongers.

Wednesday night in Bahrain
The Shooter started his evening at the famous JJ’s bar. Passing the recommended Queens Bar in the lobby, he popped his nose in. The Thais were grouped in the near corner. He looked at them. They looked at him. A very static arrangement, not to the Shooter’s taste. Reminiscent of the Ally Pally in Abu Dhabi.
So onwards to JJ’s. Even worse. One folorn Thai at a table. Surly bar staff and sorry-looking Westerners studying the bottom of a glass. Definitely not the Shooter’s scene and after one beer to confirm it was not a mirage, he made a rapid exit. Popped into the bar next door. Good Flipper band. Mostly male audience, no P4P potential was evident.
Hopped into a taxi and negotiated with the 77-year-old driver the BD3 fare to the building site known as Juffair and the Ramee International Hotel. The driver ascribed his longevity and good health to his abstemious habits: no drink, no fags and 10 children.
Passed a police checkpoint that was looking for drunk drivers (BD1K fine). At the hotel, the Shooter noted for future reference that the same lift that goes to the hotel rooms also transports you to the Cosmo sports bar. Decent selection of Thai girls. Got talking to another septuagenarian, this one decidedly not a teetotaller, who provided an unlikely escort to the Rock Bottom nightclub. A true Yorkshireman, he never takes taxis, walks to the bar, eats for free in the bar up the road, somehow got the Shooter to buy his beers, and felt up all the girls without taking one out. All power to the guy.
Rock Bottom is quite a classy place. Good band and lively atmosphere. The Shooter was soon entranced by an energetic Thai exuding sanuk. Sadly the performance between the sheets failed to live up to expectation. Unbelievably for a Thai WG, she did not blow. F**K me, time to engage the infinite improbability drive on that one. On the plus side, the bodywork was excellent and the vaginal muscle control facilitated the Shooter’s eventual denouement. And while she was a bit of a lazy cow she did seem to enjoy it. So not a bad experience by any means.

What a rip off at Phonecia
Guys as promised, here is my report on my recent visit to Bahrain:
Arrived via Gulf air to Bahrain on Tuesday morning as a transit point and was delighted to note that the name of the courtesy Hotel was Phoenicia on the paper work, but was soon disappointed to learn that all airline guests were to stay in the apartments on the opposite side (Carey Furnished apartments). Even though they were owned by the same company (Phoenicia hotel management), they didn't want to switch the room for free to allow me to have P4P fun at the hotel. The apartments were a family place. So I had to pay extra for a room at the hotel. Anyway since it was an awkward hour (4 a. M. Local time), they asked me to come back at 6:00 a. M. To check in, other wise they have to charge me extra if I stayed longer than 3:00 p. M. The next day. I was to stay in till 11:00 p. M. The next day so I decided to take it easy and came back around 3:00 p. M. I was able to negotiate the price of the room at 35BD (which was lower than what they were willing to take around 5 a. M..---40 BD).
The apartments were very nice and clean but the hotel room was not. I was glad that I had the apartment room for sleep and showering. The bell boy gave me numbers for Russian and Middle Eastern girls at the hotel. I asked him for the cream of the crop and he highlighted 2 room numbers for the CIS and two for the Arab rooms.
I started to call the rooms. Eventually only 3 out of 5 Russian rooms picked up. The ones that the bell boy indicated were the top ones didn’t pick up the phone even after I tried for a long time at different hours. What a disappointment! In desperation, I called all the room numbers but only about 50% of the Arab rooms picked up and the bell boy was right, the 2 rooms that he indicated were the top, had better looking girls than the rest of the rooms. Yet another Phoenecia report
