Hello,
Got in Shanghai and heard from locals about the crackdown, but that new and old places are opening. Would love for recommendations. I did RTFF but some local places seem hard to find on google maps. So would appreciate directions.
I'm thinking of either spas or outcalls to a 4/5 star hotel.
A local said he knew a place where its about 300 for a good time. You guys think that's trustworthy? It sounds a bit low but could be a steal, what do you guys think?

Perhaps I'm not searching the forum properly, but I'm not finding any reports on [URL]topshanghaimassage.com[/URL]. Anyone have any experience with this site? Reliable, good value? Seems like it could be an alternative in Shanghai during those times when the MP's and bars are shut down.

For outcall, try NightLife (see classifieds and last few pages of reports). Otherwise, you could try a random nearby MP. If the cost is around 168 RMB, has ear cleaning on menu, and providers look like Shrek, then probably a legit place. Otherwise, prepare to spend at least 400-500 for a massage from the "SPA" menu and pay another 300-500 tip for a HJ. Finally, there's not enough info in your last paragraph to provide advice. In general, if you're being pointed to a place that's operating in the open with a sign out front, then probably safe. But if you have to meet someone to take you to this place, then I would pass because it could go either way.

I'm just starting to get my bearings with figuring out what some terms mean. Like J for Judys and M for Manhattan.
I actually got the recommendation from a taxi driver, he didn't seem keen to give away the location of spa though, only his number. He wanted to get my contacts but I just took his number instead so I can get him if needed. How safe would you think this is? It seems 50-50 here.

For the prices (1500 upwards) it seems like quite poor value imo. Theres also about just 10 ladies?
Nonetheless, it definitely feels dry in shanghai. I had a walkabout today and avoided friendly men on the street who offered to fetch me to a ladies world hotel for a 'massage'.
I might check NLO more later and let you guys know if a romp goes through!

There is a pretty good dodgy KTV open for business where I know one of the mamasan's. Have been there twice over the last year or so. Quality can vary quite a bit, but we twice got a decent litter (about 20-25) to pick from. Earlier can offer more of a selection, but even that can vary. Occasionally I saw some stunners walking through the hallway. Damage was about 7000 RMB total last time for 3 of us (3500 room, tips for 3 girls + the waitress, mamasan etc expecting tips) Depending on the weather, they do some hot dancing and you get to grope aplenty in the dark at some points. Takeout was usually not a problem, about 1200-1500 RMB.
I'd rather not point out where it is, but if there is enough interest (say 4 people or more), I'd be happy to organize a trip over there if we can find an agreed upon date. PM me if you are interested and we'll go from there.

I guess she seemed harmless as a 50-year-old local lady. Quoted me a very cheap price, walked like 10 blocks, got to a KTV looking place. After the service (which wasn't bad), a guy stepped in to ask me how it was. Then he blocked the door and demanded 30,000 RMB, demanded me to open my wallet. I told him I'd go to an ATM and withdraw money, but 30,000 RMB wasn't happening. He made all kinds of threats, physically shoved me around some. After a good half hour they agreed to follow me to an ATM. I don't think they're in the business of killing anyone be / see it's not profitable. But seriously not a good feeling. Stay vigilant out there.
Heard from at least 4 different operators that the 5-0 are back in Shanghai, so everyone is laying low or not putting out. Tried to get a few girls from CityOfLove but they are really squeamish and wanted too much of my info, so I said no thanks. Anyone had luck from CityOfLove before? It seems pretty scam-ish to me.
NLO is really pricey for the quality they offer, to be honest the girls one gets from there can be obtained for a whole lot cheaper, they are just priced at that level because of the overheads required to keep the site running.
Decided to do things the old fashion method, walk the streets, and ask for local info. I got two recommendations from a bellboy while staying at the Pullman Hotel (pretty good). One was near the Guilin Road metro station, next to a bank building. He even helped me to enter the location on Baidu in Chinese, what a gent. Went there, the place was closed, second place though was amazing. Near the French Concession there's a SPA with neon lights. Went in, got led upstairs by the Papasan who then called in some of the most gorgeous girls I have ever met, each 8's or 10's, soft spoken beauties. They came in Stars or 'Xins'. The higher the rating, the higher the price, but in my opinion, even the 500 rmb girls are almost as pretty as the 1500 rmb girls. I got the 1000 rmb girls, and got all my needs met, one of the best massages and pop I ever had.
I could tell everyone is wary though, they even put a huge bolt on the door that could only be opened from the inside, and a door jammer. So that tells you something.
Another day, another spa. Got recognized by the bellboy again and asked him for a recommendation, the trick to striking up a conversation with bellboys or taxi drivers is to ask what's there to do for fun, or better yet, offer them a cigarette and talk in the back, out of earshot of the managers. Same modus operandi, guy called me a cab, talked to the driver in mandarin and off we went. Had a bit of an embarrassing moment because I needed the papasan to give more specific directions, so the bellboy gave me the number, had me call the papasan, who then talked to the driver so he knew where to let me alight. Once I got off, the papasan comes out and confirms you are the guy on the phone, takes you in, and this time the girls were let in one by one. This place, Chinese name that I can't read, had more mature girls who were most definitely mothers, albeit young ones.
One seemed chirpy and smiled at me, so I chose her. Again the same old type of massage where you end up on all fours while she attacks your grapes like low hanging fruit, except this one stuck her fingers in my ass. I don't think these masseuses eat KFC much, what do you guys think? Anyways, the price was cheaper at about 700 RMB, great value but I couldn't get her to fuck me, I think everyone's afraid.
One thing I noticed was that spas can have different names, a legit one and a 'special' one. I remember the name on the outside was 'Xiang' but once inside the guy said welcome to 'Kou Kou'. Its pretty cool, guess that's how they keep the places well hidden.
The only thing I can read is the postal code: 200030.
Its near the Metro City mall on ZhaoJiaBang road.
Anyways, as above, I would say that Shanghai's talent are scarce, and to fuck a real Chinese woman and not a filipino / viet / thai etc is something that takes more research. Be wary and don't do anything too stupid, even the locals are afraid. One way to ask is 'Feng Lai LE Ma?' , meaning 'Is the wind coming? The 'Wind' is a metaphor for the cops.
