Be ultra-careful with the chicas on Carretera Masaya
Hi all,
I just want to say that you should all be very very careful with these girls on Carretera Masaya. If you're don't pay attention, some of them will steal from you, especially the ones outside the Pharao's Casino.
One night I figured that I would walk from my hotel (Intercontinental Metrocentro) to the casino, and then I would take a cabbie to some strip joint. That would save me the taxi fare. I would save a few bucks, the hell I did. As I was walking past the chiken restaurant (Tip top), one tall, not very good looking girl approached me, asking me if I wanted her service (200 cordobas). She offered a massage and a blow job, and I said no thanks. As I kept walking she hugged me from behind and tried to put one of her arms around my neck I told her to stop, and to leave me alone. She scared the shit out of me. I turned around when I felt her hand extracting my wallet from my pocket, which I didn't allow of course. However she did manage to steal two 10 dollar bills I was carrying outside my wallet, as I found out later. So, to make a long story short I had to grab both of her hands and tell her to fuck off. I was a second away from punching her in the face if she pulled out a knife or something. Luckily for me, a cabbie saw the whole thing and offered to help. He ended up taking me to the casino, and being my driver for the rest of the night.
I thought that neighborhood was supposed to be one of the best in Managua, the "Zona Rosa", where the rich and the tourists go. but even there you can get mugged. NEVER walk alone at night. not even in the Zona Rosa. and be extra-careful when hiring one of these girls.
Hotel prices and Chica prices
Thank you for telling it like it is when it comes to prices for hotels and chicas !
You are quite right to say Santo Domingo Imperial hotel price is high; I did mention that on the web site price quoted is 35 bucks but I was told that prices have been changed but the website manager is late in registering these new prices and not knowing any comparable hotel in Metro Centro area or Zona rosa as to standards and chica frienliness I decided to pay what was asked.
I think they also took me for a ride by asking 5 dollars to wash and iron 5 pieces of jeans and T-shirts; they also charged me 3 dollars for a local phone girl with a girl in Managua calling from the hotel.
As to Carretera Masaya chicas, yes, they may be dangerous but I was in a taxi with the driver who steered me away from Transvestites he called dangerous and how to spot them even under heavy make up that could fool the unsuspecting monger.
I will make sure to keep the prices down for me and for other mongers; yes, I can haggle in spanish and manage well enough to be understood and to understand.
Thanks for the advice !
El Almendro & Santo Domingo Imperial
I finally did go to El Almendro on Sunday August 28 and I am happy to report that definitely standards and price are way better at El Almendro than at Santo Domingo.
First, Almendro is closer to the action ( a mile at the most from Metro Centro where the Food Court is a real plus , plus available semi-pro chicas in the Mall if one is willing to smile and start a chat).
Secondly , El Almendro provides a Microwave oven ( not Santo Domingo) and a larger size fridge and plenty of cutlery, dishes and glasses if one wants to eat in( not so at Santo Domingo).
Furniture quality and lamps beat by a long shot Santo Domingo.
Guys, I experienced it at both places. El Almendro is definitely a better deal over all.
Sometimes though, it is booked solid ; I would appreciate knowing a second similar hotel for times when El Almendro is booked solid.
