anyone can assess it for himself:

every night there are at least 2-3 guys walking around with girls that are clearly not more than 16-17 even allowing for the filipina youthful appearance. they are not very young, however young enough to make trouble.

the point is: they are 'illegal' and still they are allowed in. (i am not trying to preach. it's upto everyone's own conscience who they fuck. i am sure if it was legal to do it, a large number of subscribers to this forum would fuck them. what holds most men back is the law and not ethical reasons.)

however, potential trouble is there.

1. because you might pick one up because you believe she had been checked.

2. because anywhere there are **** cunts for hire (even if by a month), the 'do-gooders' will immediately turn up to wreak havoc, to close down places, etc.

and no, there are no id checks at entrance. only bag checks. sure. see it for yourself.

what police would do in the circumstance in this country is unpredictable and whatever happens it is still a hassle and unnecessary to a good holiday. there is horrendous poverty all over the streets and if anyone (even a cop) can make a quick buck on a tourist, so good for them.

what i am saying is that it would make it so much safer for all if the id checks were enforced, as at the moment they are not. if you are there and observe it, at least raise the issue with the guards or management.

by the way yes, the place seems well run, there is a general good atmosphere, but the whole la cafe is a potential fire trap and the dense cigarette smoke every night is irritating. however it is usually packed with quality meat, often even at early hours (bargains!). so, yes everyone make their own choice whether to visit or not.

one disturbing thing about the filipinas is that they seem to be compulsive liars when it comes to business. much more so than thais. whether they are better for gf experience i don't know. (i have never actually had a gf yet.) but the many lies really put many guys off. i know because they told me.

on another forum i found a sort of checklist that may help some to get a better deal. print it out and make sure they understand and sign every line. in a/c some bars have signs saying: "no refund on barfines, choose carefully". so there must be some unhappy customers complaining.

I just recieved notice from travelocity of a airfare from Denver to Manila roundtrip for $600.00 dollars on United. The flight times are actually decent as I called United. You fly from Denver to San Francisco with a short layover, then you fly into Hong Kong and fly to Manila on Philippine Air. You arrive at 11pm.

The flights were using a "k" fare and were anytime between now and I believe the middle of January with a 2 week black out over Christmas. The best thing to do is call United because when I called travelocity they said the fares were not in there system and for me to contact United about it, so that is what I did. The actual fare I was given by United was @549.+

If your using the west coast hub cities (LAX, San Fran or Seattle) check out EVA Airs "Delux Class". Adds about $200 to their economy fare, but you get a much bigger seat and much better legroom. Important for some of us.

Age of consent laws in the Philippines are complicated. You do not reach full majority until 21. There are different laws for 18 to 21 year olds, 16 to 18 year olds, 14 to 16 year olds, and under 14.

From a practical standpoint you will never have any problems from the law if the girl is over 16. Maybe theoretically possible to be charged with a crime, but extreemly unlikely. However, since this board considers (and rightfully so) minors to be under 18, we of course should never discuss the subject of 16 and 17 year olds.

I stay at the Rothman Inn on Adriatico street everytime I go to Manila. Went there one night ! hardly any customers and went to every club to check out all very friendly.
Price ladies drink 190 peso. girls are inexperinced as i found out chatting to some of them. most from provences Bicol etc.
Took 2 girls all night bar fine 1000 peso's the girls agreed to 1500 pesos each. they did not quote prices and asked what i would like to pay ! There are two entertainment complexes near the airport. Sincy Porty mentioned Firehouse, I assume he was at the one on EDSA Blvd. near the Roxas/EDSA intersection in Pasay. This is a really great place. If I have an early morning flight out of Manila, I stay at the Copacabana which is right across the street. Not the best hotel in the area, but has a nice pool.

There is another entertainment complex that is relatively unknown. It is right across from the Cebu Pacific Airline complex. Very quiet when I went there...girls standing outside trying to wave customers in. The bars are much smaller and less sophisticated (not sure if that is the right adjective to use) than EDSA Entertainment Complex, but certainly worth a vist. The few ladies I talked to seemed unwilling to do overnight because they actually lived with their families in the Manila area. There was one cutey who wouldn't go overnight, so I called her the next day and asked for an afternoon date. She said her mother required her to bring a chaperone. I declined, but maybe I shouldn't have! :-)
