The kinds of Isan TG we punters are able to meet have -on average- maybe an IQ between 60 and 70....
...you will face a condition when she engages you in a heated argument, most likely because of unjustified jealousy. You will then find the mix of limited intellectual capabilities, entirely irrational behavior and a totally different thought process either amusing or, at worst and when alcohol plays a role, dangerous and nightmarish. Mutual language incapacities are added to the dangerous mix....
...this latent and potentially violent irrationality which can be a result of a lack of culture and education.
Very astute observations. Alcohol just adds gasoline to the fire in the world of the emotionally immature Thai woman (and not just bargirls).
You can't completely fault poor people for their low intelligence. A poor diet and lack of early childhood education stunts intellectual growth. And rarely do the poor get a chance to improve on this as they get older. Except of course, possibly through the money earned on their backs (again rarely, though).
It's best to get away from any volatile situation with a Thai woman as soon as you can. Your life and extremities are at risk!
They sure know their cell phones and fake designer bags, though! :)
Thailand? Not interested of AIDS.
The arrogance is getting thick in this thread. People always want to dehumanize those beneath them on the social scale by claiming they are 'less intelligent' or in some way lacking in character. You fellows are falling into an age old trap with manifold aspects - enslavement by hubris.

Hear hear. And it's one of the silliest forms of idiocy, closely related (the other side of the coin) to the mentality that results in naiive farang being fleeced by wily bargirls

Was it not OTH who said that all Thai people are idiots, especially P4P ladies?
As i recall he claimed to back up some of his claims with "facts".

But I also think, based on many of your "reports," that you purposely do not venture beyond P4P relationships with Thai women. Why is this?

I'm not that interested, and prefer P4P for the variety and ease. But I have often also had girlfriends and giks in Thailand. Its just not as appealing - a lot of work for less reward.

Me? I have two Thai GFs and when I venture out occasionally for P4P it just feels hollow to me. The P4P sex is OK, sometimes very good, but with no "relationship," (however casual), it just an act for me. Of course, though, with two GFs, my life can resemble a bad Thai soap opera at times.
On the flip side, I was back in the states recently for a month, and having no women available, or at least not knowing where to even start, was a stark reminder of how lucky I am to have a life in Thailand.
Or maybe just over your budget?
No. By my definition girlfriends or giks are those I spend little or no money on. Mostly in those types of relationships we do things by 'American shares' as the Thais call it. If you're paying a lot for your 'girlfriends' or 'giks' then I'd say they're just P4P, Nic.
OAH:
I envy you!
In 20 yrs. of coming to LOS I've never come across a higher ed BG who saves her money. Great. But I am still alive and looking. I once was invited to KMUTT in BKK though, but these girls at the faculty there are as much in reach as the moon! (But they sure speak English well)
Frankfurter,
OK, so she did not graduate from Chula but she does have a 4 year degree from a Central Thailand university. As is typical, her English reading and writing skills are far better than speaking. I speak with her in Thai.
She tries to save all her money but like most she is an easy touch for the family which frequently sets her back somewhat. That said, she spends nearly nothing on herself.
She is only the second college grad BG I have met in 30 years. The first one I met in Bangkok I ended up living with for 4 years. She saved nothing and spent every baht that she could get her hands on but she had no family obligations. She just wanted gold, designer clothes and bags, a car, etc. Finally, she left me for another farang with more money.
My point is that education does not necessarily result in financial responsibility and vice versa.
Just my POV.

OAH
JUst the money? Give the lady some credit man. If it just was for the money, and you stayed with her for 4 yrs? I would rather say your looks, performance in bed, your ability to give her sanuk on general basis and of course dosh.
You seem a little bitter and blame it on cash. Well, get a better job man. Good luck.

Of course, there were other factors. She kept pushing me to marry her which I was not ready to do at the time. They guy she left me for did. I am not sure if he had more money than me, but he was willing to give her more anyway.
Just my POV.
OAH
Here's my story.
The virgin: I met and married a virgin when I was 24. After seven years of marriage she left me and took more than half of my money. During the time she was with me she constantly sent money to her parents.
They built a plain new 4 stories house with my "our" money. She held no job during that time because she was too busy flying back home to see her parents.
I loved her a lot and trusted her 100%, which is why I put a lot of money into her name via land purchases. A lot of our investments went up, but I did not see any of those gain. I was simply content and lucky enough to get my principal back.
After the divorce I moved to Thailand and have been living here with a girl I met at Nana. Although, I don't express any love for her or buy her new things like I did my ex. At times I have been a complete A-hole to her, she still loves me. I have also told her that I will not marry her because once is enough for me, so continues to take care of me.
She has stop working for over a yr to live with me while going to college and is making decent grades. She in her 2nd yr now.
I give her nothing in the way of money, so she has little to no money.
The moral of the story is girls are different. Treat each circumstance different and never be stupid like I was.
