Regular Girls
Well, I never went to school, so I don't even try to approach Uni girls. But for those who try to find regulars here an interesting report from Stickman:
http://www.stickmanbangkok.com/StickMarkII/MeetingThaiWomenBackToBasics.htm
BTW: I read there that the ST/LT rates in Rainbow 4 are now THB 2,500 / THB 4,000 . I haven't been there for a while now - can somebody confirm that?
Thanks OTH, I am going to try to include that word into my every day vocabulary, though there are others on this site who should have that nickname........
So now, what is a "gak"?
1Ball,
That's the sound that comes out of a Rainbow Bar girl, when you offer her 500 baht LT. It's also the sound coming from Opebo's mouth, when you say you paid over 500 baht for ST. Sorry Opebo .. no offense intended.

Donations welcome
Pink. Think of it as donations, not pay for sex. Average income for secretary THB 15,000 per month. A 'donation' is surely welcome. At THB 1,500 that is 10% of her monthly regular income - or - another pair of shoes :-)
I always insist on paying. Figure only fair. Label it as taxi money, rent contribution or whatever.
But, then, there are the girls who specificly tell you not to pay them.
Were they too shy to ask for money, but bold enough to tell you that?
who's who?
Well OTH seems to have gotten his panties in a bunch over Easy2007, now it seems that we have to get the uni’s girl degree to make sure she is going to the right UNIVERISTY. OTH’s elitism is too funny!
First of all, It's not elistism. It's merely like anywhere. There are first tier to third tier unis. It's not really a comment on how hot the girls are, but a comment on where they are most easily accessible. That's all. To tell you the truth, there are often better looking and much nicer girls at some of the lower level unis, than there are at Chula or Thammasat where the girls are often a pain in the ass and spoiled brats. I used to teach at Ramkhamhaeng many years ago and I think the girls there were much more fun and easier to deal with than those with whom I have to deal now.
Also, I'm not really worked up about Easy. I just like seeing how far I can push him and he obviously now really gets off by insulting me - his last posts about me were quite amusing. Of course, I don't really know him, and I don't care about him. This is all just a game, isn't it? Or, is it? I'm not sure, sometimes. A lot of these fights, whether involving me or others develop there own momentum quite quickly and usually spin out of control, much to the chagrin of those readers who just come here to exchange info and stories. None of what I've said about Easy is meant to be true because I have no empirical proof, anymore than he can substantiate his remarks about me. He can say things about OTH. But, who is OTH...or Giotto...or 1Ball...or Opebo, or Easy2007 and anyone else, here? Just faceless names.
People on this forum take things that are written much too seriously and too literally. I too have been guilty of this, on occasion. It's human nature to sometimes get carried away with remarks made, to take them personally and to then get petty, childish and insulting. But, in reality, when it goes too far and gets out of hand, as it has now between Easy and I, I force myself to remember the wise words of Terry Terrier who stated quite correctly that this is nothing but an obscure sex forum of little importance. Personas are illusions. There are posters on here who have several personas. Which one, if any is in anyway the real person? Domino, for example has any number of alter egos - Sanook D is one. There are probably dozens more. Are any of them really him?
One always has to remember that on the Internet, the constraints of social convention disappear as people seem to forget how to behave - me included. In normal social interaction where one is face to face with someone, unless you're a true geezer who gets his jollies pounding on somebody, we would never say the things we feel perfectly at ease saying here within the safety of anonimity. If we did, we'd get our asses kicked.
I'm sure there is a little of me in OTH. How could there not be? But, I think that in many cases on here the personas, whoever they belong to are gross exaggerations and cartoons of the real person. But, that won't stop OTH from continuing to be an arrogant, pompous, elitist, condescending, know-it-all (etc. etc. etc.) ass. That's his raison d'etre. I enjoy being him. But, I am not him.
I'm sorry to take up space with this rambling post - just some musings about the state of things.

A couple fo truths
Oth, after reading a couple of your posts elsewhere, it does seem my guess was right. You hate Isaan people because you got done over by a couple of Isaan girls? Is that right?
No. In reality, the best GF I ever had came from Roi-et. She was a dirt-poor farmgirl. My current one also comes from Isaan and is solidly middle-class. No HiSo girls for me. I know lots of them, and they are not worth the trouble.
The experiences to which I referred in my warning about online dating did not involve any girls from Isaan. All were in fact from Bangkok or near Bangkok.
I somehow doubt you'll let it rest, as you appear to be on a roll. So, knock yourself out. I'm done.

Hi-So Girls
Well I can admit to never fucking with any Hi-So girls, but a lot of uni girls. What was quite the eye opener for me is what appeared to be Hi-So girls from a so-called university, Dusit Thani College. It appears that these girls go to this college as this is the best they can achieve mentally. They were totally obnoxious and even worse drunks, I pity the Thai guys that are boyfriends to these girls. No wonder the MP's are bustling business for Thai's.
Keep in mind, some of these Japanese-oriented lounges may not welcome farang customers. And although this place has laid out prices upfront, the bill at the end of an evening could set you back more than you expected, especially if the sole purpose for the visit was to simply pull one particular girl. In that case, you might be better off to visit a soap/oil MP. Still, if you like this type of venue (for the hostess treatment and the types of girls available), I'm sure you'll have a blast too.
Thanks Orange. I don't have the dough to risk a padded bill coming up :-(. I'll stick with the MP thing and maybe enjoy a few drinks and a show at Nana.

Black-out
Having run around BKK all day on business (of the legit kind) I decided to head over to Soi Cowboy for the first time (even after quite a few trips to BKK.) I got there about 23h30 and immediatley liked the atmosphere. No aggressive selling on the street. I had a look around and then remembering the comments on ISG went to Susy Wong to have a lookie lookie. I took a seat in the back, so I could have a good look around. After a while a girl (mamasan? ) comes to me and asks if I wanted a lady. As I was just looking to relax I told her so and kindly was left alone (with my drink and the lovely girls on stage.) for the rest of my time there. Again a nice experience just being left to ones own devices if so chosen. I got a laugh out of the waitress for ordering a pineapple juice? ! ? And what is the deal with the pingpong balls? The girls were crazy for them! And what time is the famous lesbian show? The dancing on stage was a bit "slow" at first, but then there was a change of dancers and they proceeded to do a great oily, full nude (with all the bits and pieces) session (no lesbian) which was very much appreciated by all
I wanted to check out Baccarat for the infamous upstairs-glass-floor which was verxy amusing. Again nice atmosphere and not too much hassling for lady drinks etc. The girls upstairs were a mixewd bunch with some obviously having fun and others trying very hard to prevent us pervs from looking up their skirts Ended up taking one of the dancers from the main stage for ST. She caught my eye with her very good dancing style which was much more active than the rest of the girls. (Thinking back to the saying "the way a girl dances is the way she is in bed"). However after paying the BF, this is where it all went a bit pear shaped. I wait for P. No. 9x to change and as we head off to find a taxi I notice she is a little drunk and wobbly on the legs. No worries, I think: nothing a short walk and a shower can't fix. When we get to the hotel, as I enter the room I notice no light, no aircon, no hot water etc: there seems to be a complete powercut in all of Soi 11. Now what: got this girly by the hand who is a little afraid of the dark, no light, no warm water for shower, can't see shit etc. I called the front desk and asked for a torch. After 20min they send someone with 3 little candles and a box of matches LOL! Romantic, I think.
Since P. Had been dancing all night and I was a little sweaty, I insisted on a cold shower (which in BKK is actually quite welcoming). Unfortunatly P. Was more into falling asleep than anything else, and even though she was up for everything (. Except lesbian, she had told me back at Baccarat) I had to take control and constantly tell her what to do and what I wanted. Not my idea of a good romp! She had offered as many shots as I wanted during ST, but after the first one was done and P. Was literally falling asleep. I sent her on her sleepy, merry way and called a night.
15min, after she left, and I was already on the way to lalaland. The lights, aircon. , fridge, TV etc. All come on. Fucking frightened the living shit out of me
Cheers

Gak
Thanks OTH, I am going to try to include that word into my every day vocabulary, though there are others on this site who should have that nickname........
So now, what is a "gak"?
Sorry, I forgot to answer this.
Gak is colloquial Thai meaning generally "a little bit", or "insignificant". One might for example refer to a shot of booze as "kaew gak", literally a little glass.
The word has been co-opted by Thai teenagers (originally Gig Gak and now just Gak) to mean a casual love, maybe like puppy love. It may mean someone a teen has sex with for the first time, but usually doesn't imply sex. It's certainly not about any kind of serious relationship, not that widely used, actually and certainly not used by anyone over the age of 20. It's unlikely that university students would use it, especially beyond the freshman year. While I've heard Gig used by students many times, I've only heard Gak once or twice and always in a kidding around sort of way.
The term Gig, Gik, Kik (different spellings-same pronunciation) is more widely used even by teens and refers mostly these days to a "friend with benefits". It used to be more general and didn't necessarily always refer to a friend with whom one had sex. But, these days, it's generally assumed that one has sex with one's Gig. It used to be a cool term. But, with the inference of casual sex, it's now taking on a negative connotation. Where before, I would hear women, especially my students use it all the time, it now seems to cause embarrassment.
BTW, I know you're likely kidding. But, I really would not use the term "bugsider" (difficult to pronounce correctly, anyway), if I was you. Among Thais it has been corrupted to become quite a perjorative term. It's original meaning in Isaan is quite charming - a naiive, country bumpkin who's rather innocent of the world. It's only the Thais who have turned it back onto people from Isaan to mean "simpleton", "village idiot" etc.
The Isaan term for Farang is "Bugsida" - sounds a bit similar. I've heard BGs a couple of times use the phrase "Bugsida Bugsider" to mean, I suppose an idiot Farang. But, I think it might have been a spur of the moment joke. It's certainly not widely used. Thai and Isaan Lao can be minefields for the uninitiated.

LOL I think it depends on which side of the fence you're seating ;)
I have 3 giks at the moment (casual sex for An expensive night out, shopping, gifts) and they seem not to pay too much attention to the term Gik, I think it is quite natural for them.

Guys, I personally don't care if they are low, middle, or Hi-So, I don't care if they are dressed like a Uni-girl to pretend, or they real are one! I don't care if they go to the best University or the just a trade school! To each his own!
I am on a budget but I no cheap Charlie, if the situation arises and LBM get excited and I think the challenge is worth the time I break out the wallet for him and sometimes I do overpay! but it a mental challenge to see how far I can go!
All this conversation leads me to remember 4 years back, staying at Nana Hotel I like to eat at the Landmark Hotel late at night. There were couple of girls which I thought might have been Uni-girls, spoke excellent English and they were all somewhat drunk and having good time. I happen to be seated to the table next to them. When I ordered my food the girls stare at me because of my race and that I could speak English. Now I found out that they were Uni-girls and at that time I didn't know one University from the other and personally I don't care then or now! Well, I did hit it off with one of them and I never told them I was staying at Nana, instead I was staying at the Marriort with my other associates. We agree to meet up the next day but this time I took a gamble and checked out of the Nana, and checked into Landmark for the night. We went to dinner and a couple of clubs ( all somewhat Hi-So ) but at the end of the night it all paid off, told her I got a room at the Landmark just for the night and that my associated thought I was off seeing some friends in town.
In the end, isn't it all a game with us! were all lying DOGS! Even if we are cheap we shell out and overpay just for the challenge of it all. If they spread it we all do what the little head tells us! Hi-So or Lo-So, school or no school!
When time exist, you can go to the World Trade Center and watch the candy come and go, you can even go to the Bus Stop on Soi 4, there are girls that serve you tell you they aren't P4P, that they are students but will go out with you just for their company but no sex. But in the end if you want it bad enough and they have a great time with you and they think you are worth the investment based on the Bull-shit you are feeding them they will end up in the sack with you!
The goal is getting them in bed and how much time and money you are going to invest in it. If your not going to marry them what difference does it make what school they come from?
LBM, is getting on the plane tonight so see ya fellas!

Well, thanks for the explanation OTH, and no need to worry, I wans't planning on using the term "bugsider" in Thailand. it's just when you explained it to me, I immediately thought of a "special someone" in the forum, to whom this moniker would fit perfectly............

I learn't the hard way that Farangs should never use Thai words that they don't fully understand the usage of.
Can get into trouble.
This particularly applies to swear words as we Farangs often don't understand the feeling behind swear words.
There are even words that girls can use that guys cannot, so don't copy the girls.
Its OK for a girl to call a guy "dtolae" but in reverse, you're in deep shit !
Basically means "devious bull-shit artist" (perhaps stronger than that) but it seems to be extremely impolite to call a girl this.
