In March 2013 I could look far and wide and will not have found an exchange booth selling bath at 32 to the dollar. If you cannot do anything about it, it is not worth worrying about.

In general though I do agree with you. There is nothing much we can do about the rising cost of girls in Asia. I am going to keep playing and that is all there is to it. But some guys will have to move on to other countries (Africa ?), or cut back on quantity or quality.

Your investments & or salary increases are supposed to keep up with that.

The good news, though, is that as you age you'll get to a point where the mojo is progressively lost, or you get bored doing the same thing all the time, or you get some game, or get into a real relationship, or learn how to please yourself, or any combination of the above money savers.

After having banged stunners galore & done everything imaginable with them, for years on end, I think one might get to the point of being very selective & not all that interested, unless there was something extremely tempting, as in mind blowing, on the table.

And you're right, I have gotten pretty selective. These days for me it's all about quality over quantity. So yes, I guess I spend less on our hobby than I used to, though it's still plenty (and to quote George Best, the rest of my money I just waste).

I just hope I never get so jaded that I lose interest. With luck in another 30 years if there's still a Soi 6 and you see some impossibly old geezer trying to climb up the stairs with some 19-year-old, that'll be me.

So I typically pay 1000 baht in total for ST. The attraction of Soi 6 is that simplicity. 1000 baht plus perhaps a drink or two. Like I say, you can make it more complicated by taking the girl out, which works out at 500 baht after 10pm or 700 baht before 10pm. You then pay the girl what you think is fair, and my personal calculation is about 700 baht per shag. I'm a very old man, so overnight is 2 x 700 = 1500 baht. Sometimes I'll take a girl earlier, and go for dinner or drinks in the evening, so she might get 3 x 700 = 2000 baht. You get the idea.

We just happen to live in an era when it is more or less accepted. I don't know what the real rate of inflation is in Thailand. I think in Japan the economy has been deflating the past few years, ie prices getting cheaper.

Anyway, nobody likes paying more than they were paying 12 months ago, so I will resist the push to 1000 baht ST in Soi 6, but not to the point of spoiling my vacation. But realistically, if after a week here I have spent at most £100 more than anticipated, I won't have to remortgage my house.

How long is the usual ST in Soi 6? Is 300 baths per 1 hour? Does girls expect 1 cum and you have to go or you have, let's say 2-3 yours with reloading time?

Is this true what I'm saying below?

1) Walking street highlight are bars girls ('take away' to your hotel approach: bar fine + money for a girl) and freelancers (obviously 'take away' approach). The scene there is similar to Angeles City in Philippines.

2) The best of Soi 6 is 'in house' consumption (similar to MPs) – money for the room + money for a girl.

3) For good and diversify massage possibilities, the best idea is to go to Bangkok.

Lets just go back around 3 years ago, I did most of my ST there since I had a few regulars. At that time it was in a decline with lots of shop closing. The opinions were it was dying a slow death?

Around 2 years ago a group of guys took it apon themselves to try to save Soi 6, First they open up Nightwish, took over Skybar and recently this year open Pussy club. They promoted their clubs through another forum and threw a bunch of parties creating website for their bars. The biggest things they did was bring in more girls and actually instruction and monitor that they try to provide a specific service and try to provide what customers wanted along with a party type atmosphere. From what I saw they succeeded which got the Soi going again bring in new talent along with higher prices.

Beginning of the year I went down to see what the hype was about also to see the changes on the Soi, the Soi was certainly more alive. I walked the length a few times before going in to check them out. As noted, I saw NW, Skybar were very busy compared to the others. Pussy Club was having its Pre-Grand opening that same night. Can't remember the clubs I visited but the first one it was dead but the girl told me 400 BF and 1, 000, Second one was 350/1000 baht, after that I decided to go to Nightwish since I spotted the famous Ning from D. D. Who I had known. She filled me in that it was 350/1000 for all three of their clubs after a drink with her I went to Pussy Club, it was pretty much dead, but went back next time with a friend and the girl told me 350/1000, over a drink we talked and I told her I can get LT, where I live for 1, 000 baht and I would have to nearly kick them out because they wouldn't leave. She said laughing quoting in English " old shit " and after a good laugh she came down to 700 but I wasn't there to partake just to get information. Next time I went she was gone.

I checked out Skybar all the same 350/1000, decided to check out the other one's surrounding these three bars. Here is basically what I got. Nearly every girls I spoke when I ask and we talked that I was use to paying 300/700 without a problem the only time I paid 1, 000 was if the girl did 3 holes and gave me GFE along with a nice massage. They responded that clubs like Nightwish are asking for 350/1000 and the girls are getting it so that is what we should charge for BF etc. I look around each of these clubs and they didn't have the customers that these clubs had and I ask the girl how many customer have you had today many were Zero and a few only had 1, and it was already 10pm, and as we know the majority of them close at 1am.

Just the other night it was 3:30am, I was cruising on my bike and went down Soi 6, for the hell of it. 99. 9% were closed accept Nightwish which I heard the owner has a contact to allow him to open late as long as he kept the light off the place although small was packed. In April of this year I went by Pussy club and saw Ning who normally works at Nightwish, stopped to have a drink and chat and ask why she was working PC, said not enough girls so she is helping out. Ended up taking her ST but we had to go back down NW since PC was closing for the evening.

So, comes success for some clubs and the Thai way at times is to increase the prices although the real definition of Inflation doesn't really have anything to do with the increase. As many are asking and getting 1000, you still can 700 throughout Soi 6, you just let to work on it a little more which of course is a individual choice or not?

When I go to Soi 6, I'm not there to drink and party so if prices are going up and too much work I will pass too many options in Pattaya. As I reported the other week. 4am cruising I was on Soi Honey, decided to get a oily, found a cutie better than anything I have seen on Soi 6, although a weak oil, she gave more than I expected and did a much better job licking LBM, with FS than the famous Ning at NW, left happy all for 1, 000 baht although it was on the floor on a mat with people next down, didn't bother me a bit.

I don't think I have ever been in Nightwish, or if I have I probably politely walked out after hearing the prices. For what it's worth, I just came from Ruby Club and the girl was happy with 700 baht. She could have earned a tip; nice enough girl but her service was nothing out of the ordinary. I am picking up another regular tonight and anticipate paying 500 + 1500 baht. I'll let you know.

Does anyone know where the aerobics class has gone, that used to be at the bottom of Soi 6 around 6-7pm? I used to enjoy watching it.

I'll let you know.[/QUOTE]Out of all the clubs now on Soi 6, the three I hear about most which seem to be also the most popular with customer but in my opinion a much younger crowd. As you mention Ruby club which I know well one of my regulars were there which is gone out of the business now. Most of the girls at the three clubs have no problem asking and getting the 1, 000 baht, from the customers but I'm sure there are some if not many that might get it at the old price. The only girl I took was Ning and it would be stupid of me to offer 700, personally knowing her history I couldn't even say 700Bath. All three clubs now are open and I more of a guy that likes to hide in dark corners.

My experience was early this year and in April, I'm sure by now those same girls thinking they can ask for 1, 000 baht because these 3 clubs the girls are getting it most likely after all these months might be coming back to earth. My final opinion is most likely you are going to be quoted 1, 000 but it doesn't mean you got to pay it just like the go go's. It is up to you a experience guy like you will have no problem smoothly getting the girls to take 700/1500, what I can't help you with is the aerobics class?

Just back from my evening jog along Beach Road, and before I collapsed with heat exhaustion I noticed that there are a series of bolts embedded in the pavement. They are arranged in a small square, in groups of three, about 1m apart in a straight line.

I'll bet a pound to a penny these are the fixing points for a series of concrete benches, yet to be installed. The ladies will be pleased.

As others have noted, for years the price was 700 to the girl and 300 to the bar. (Plus drinks and a tip, if you choose. And I'm not going to get into the price for taking a girl back to your hotel, either long time or short, because that varies somewhat.)

Recently the girls are asking for 1000, and some bars (usually the ones with nicer renovated rooms) are asking 350 for the short-term lodging. Going from 1000 all-in to 1350 represents a 35 percent increase. I hope this attracts hotter girls to Soi 6. If so, I won't have a problem with a USD $11 increase.

On the other hand, I won't be wild about paying 35 percent more for the same experience with the same girls. When I arrive in December I plan to make the decision in real time. If the girl strikes my fancy and I'm in one of the bars with the renovated rooms, I'll probably pay the higher prices. If not, I'll counter at the old price and see what happens, perhaps leaving a tip if the girl does a good job.
