Sperto, what happned to your friend? Normally, you have no problems at all buying drugs in Rio, especially the favela. (They know better than to rob or assault the customers) Can you share the info.

They take a lime, cut it up, add sugar, then crush all of it together. Add Ice and then pinga (local sugarcane based liquor).. shake and pour. That is the basic one.
Then you can have them with other fruits instead of lime, like strawberry, pineapple, mixed fruit.
Then you can substitute vodka (capivodka, or capiroska) or you can substitute Sake instead to make it a bit less strong.

so basically, fruit, sugar and alcohol. I personally like one before dinner.
You can also get them on the beach, just about anywhere. They will vary in quality and quantitiy of alcohol..
