Back in dxb after another day trip in AD.
Got such a pain in the backside colleague in AD who just wont leave me alone, wont take a hint and WONT MONGER!
And yesterday, for now the third night, ive missed out on the Premier.
After reading somewhere that non WG are now going there i was looking forward to checking it out.
That didnt happen. Neither did anything else.
Got back at 3.30 am, so just missed out. Called a PRC - just fancied an asian lovely who would rub my back for ages.
She came over and wham bham for a few hours only to completely knock myself out.
BBBJ woke me up in the morning, which was most welcome and made sure i made it to work at some point in the morning. Phone goes oFf just before i was to leave and got the nastiest shock ever, when my G/F says she wants to join me in DXB for the remaining time im here - YIKES!
got into work, and was then told that they wanted me to consider working in that office full time for a couple of years. Got some thinking to do. But this place is too dangerous - way too many chicks and my G/F will want to join me!

Yogi and the Hotel
To avoid the Rangers, I suggest moving to another hotel, tell the boss you moved because the Grand Hyatt was not well located for business. Too much trafiic.
Almost ANY other 5 star will not require original passport or charge you, though there are exceptions. In my experience (before the manager ripped it up that is) the charge was on a misc. charge sheet that was labled "hotel services" just like room service for example. You can also pay this charge in cash, thus nothing on the bill.
This should allow you to enjoy your pik-a-nick bass-ket in peace.
Another option is the "brass method." When you check in, tell them your wife is arriving later and get two keys. Ususally the room charge is the same for single or double at the better hotels. This method does require some stones, but has worked well for me in the past. If security says anything, tell them to [CodeWord140] off and to leave your wife alone. They will only challenge you once, after that, you WILL be left in peace... or asked to leave! ;) Another great excuse to change hotels.
Good luck

Good luck
Well I can't change hotels - company function is there (bugger)
So It's down to brass , or pay cash for guest (easiest option)
Thanks for help/advice

Yogi
If I remember correctly it just comes up as "Room Charge" and nothing else. You can easily put it down to dry cleaning or clothes aleterations.
The hotel is not stupid.
Bon chance mon brave.
I am looking for confirmed good looks, the contacts I have,I have never seen and do not know if they are good or not. I will try them later but want to try with something good.
Define "good looks". Define "good".
You ever heard the cliche: "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"? My babe could be your cow; likewise, the girl you think is a-list, I wouldn't give a 2nd look. So how will you know if the contact I pass is good looking? By who's criteria? Mine? You trust my judgement over your own? Fool!
And, believe it or not, there is some individuality that comes into play. Your GFE might be my starfish just because we don't click (believe me, it has happened to ME personally). Likewise, my GFE might be your strictly business experience. Punters are individuals, wg's are individuals. How they mix is not identical.
So, while you're waiting for contacts, why don't you:

Go out and make some of your own, SIGHT SEEN. Now you know they will meet YOUR criteria of good-looking, AND how they react with YOU. Might not be 100%, but how they react to you in the bar is a VERY good indicator with how they will react to you at home. And only you can determine if she's good within your frame of reference.

Try some of your sight-unseen contacts. Why not? Any contact you get will initially be sight-unseen (and that's why I don't like).

Read some of the newbie success stories on this thread, and understand if it worked for them, it can work for you. Read, Remember, DO.
Just last night, 30 minutes in a small bar: 1 new contact (sampled), could have had 4 more numbers of interesting girls (in MY eyes) if I'd just gone over and asked. Just takes a MINIMUM of self-confidence coupled with a "Hello". After all, it is business.
For me, nothing more sad than a would-be punter waiting for contacts, when, 30 minutes inside any of the popular bars, more potential contacts than he could possibly ever use.
Like I've said: It's NOT rocket science. Can I get a "Hallelujah!" from the chorus?
(Or perhaps someone has the Madagascar chick's number from Jockey's that he could pass along? She would definitely rock this boy's world.)
Plan B - go to the girls place - Is this safe ?
Always an option IF she has her own place. Some are nice, if spartan (at least in my eyes).
2 questions to ask:

FIRST: "How many girls live with you"? If she's in a barracks, you will be going off-site to a 3rd party, not a good option.

Second: NOW ask if she has a place where you can enjoy...
It is safe physically. However, depending on where she lives, you can pick up a lot of UNWANTED attention from local yokels... If you think a hotel's walk of shame is bad, you've never had a Diera-street-1am walk of shame. My FIRST dxb pull, we were literally followed into her building by two such... DEMANDING to know what we were doing.

Rattlesnake, Monday, 9:30 - 10:45
Never really had much luck at the 'Snake. Like I've posted, just something off about the place: the band, the food, the layout...
However, last night... Arrived 9:30. Only 1 wg sitting outside. Entering, 4 or 5 punters, 2 non-descript CIS, no africans, 10 PRC's. Had to check my watch, make sure it was set to the right time zone. Yea, I know it was mid-week, and early, but... this was SPARSE... but NICE. 2 more arriving punters vocalized my inner thoughts; bartender replied it was early, thus the lack of customers.
1 of the PRC's - I'd swear she was a Cyclone a-lister. Cute face, CR (cyclone rack), tanned... ignored me, so she must be from Cyclone. On the other hand, my data storage has overflowed; now they all blend together.
Some marketing from another PRC, mentioning she'd seen me at Cyclone. Now, she was NOT a Cyclone a-lister, more like one of the Cyclone chorus. Certainly not unpleasant, but it WAS early, and I was not ready to make a decision yet. She moved on when I was silent about any potential that night; she would be my safety net. Several other "cute" PRC's; not a-list, but certainly were possibilities.
9:45 - beginning to fill. Now, 4, 5 africans, some more PRC's, a couple more CIS, and one of the very attractive Kazak sisters.
10:00 - very nice. Not crowded, but filling up nicely. Selection from each of the 3 major food groups: PRC, CIS, African. Several attractive in each. Last night, there were too many I found appealing... as many have said, "so many women, so little time".
10:15 - Miss "Wait for Me" Seaview girl showed up in her working clothes, very nice. But close up, the face, while attractive, was not compelling for me. And, with me, a bit of a "pro" attitude; we exchanged a few words, then she was off. Miss VBBC also stopped by to say hi, but, by then, I was deep in negotiations with another. She was quickly occupied by another punter.
Had been exchanging smiles with a PRC across the aisle. Looked like she was going to have her option picked up by another punter (even though she was smiling at me over his shoulder). But the deal fell through, he moved off. More smiles, but she did not venture my way. Fair enough, the mountain would move...
Walked over, gave her the secret dxb isg code word, the secret handshake... and it was a done deal. (See Hungph, it is easy).
Well, actually, it was the usual litany, followed by her eventually asking if I was interested in a massage. I was, she quoted 500 for ST, I told her "good luck" and started sizing up the next possibility. She re-entered the realistic dimension, we cut a deal for 300 (maybe I could have gone for less, but 50, 100... not that big a deal and time was now more important). 2 hours later, I was happy, she was happy... QED.

daytrip!
Hi guys,
I am new here at the forum and must say you guys do a tremendous job. I hope to actively contribute too. Wish I knew of this before.
And, I will be transiting DXB mid September. My flight arrives morning and connection is a bit after mindnight. Got about 15 hrs to kill but mostly daytime. Where would be a good place to find some CIS S/T? Are the usual haunts like cyclones any use like between 6 and 9 pm? I will have to go to the girls place (I hope I don't get the take the money and run episode) because from what I read here the millenium airport hotel that emirates puts transit travellers in is not certified GF. Any infor would help friends.
You can also pay this charge in cash, thus nothing on the bill.
Watch out for this one. Once, whilst out on Company Trip I was allowed to bring "Guest" in and charged extra. Although I paid for it out of my own pocket and nothing was ultimately charged / Claimed in expenses from my Company, 2 entries nevertheless appeared on my bill: the first one charging the Addnl Accom and a 2nd entry crediting the same amount. Our Accountant did not have too much problem processing it. I simply made the excuse that it may have been either an error on the Hotel's part or drinks etc. that I had which I could not claim from the company. Either way, my company did not foot the bill so he was not too bothered with the entry. However, if the entry specifically stated Additional Guest", then you may have to do some explanation upon your return.
Where Guest Fee is required and same staff are on reception most nights, I have paid the fee and walked away promptly, rather than ask for a receipt. This way, if they wish to pocket it, it's their choice. Both parties are then happy. I am able to bring in a guest, without charging to my bill whilst the Reception Staff end up having the tip. The bonus on my part was that on subsequent nights, the staff have recognised me and I have ended up paying nothing extra for bringing guests in (ID was still requested).

Diss
Don't worry about your GF, there are ways, many mongers have GFs and spouses and am sure some will share their tricks but if you do come here with GF and monger in your own place, DNA it before she comes back. A few did not DNA well enough and matters got somewhat heated..;)
Your PM working now?
Any infor would help friends.
Just the usual: RTFF (specifically Reports of Distinction links). Daytime places listed. Given you've got 2 weeks, plenty of time to study.
Cyclone of no use between 6-9, unless you get off watching staff stock the bar.

I’m out of station now. I checked with some more friends in Dubai. You are right and blockage again is in place. You should use of solutions only for bypassing blockages and have voice service enabled.
It didn’t last even a little!
Cheers,
It didn’t last even a little!
Standard procedure: you trial the solution; once verified, you reboot to install the permanent fix.
Anyone else notice a lot of network failures with mobile phones yesterday evening? I tried a number of local numbers; all call failed.

WR
hahahahahahah - my G/F is a hell of a forensic!
Still working on trying to put her off.
Hi guys,

I hope you do.
The only guaranteed day spot is TGIT in the Astoria but it's populated mainly by PRCs and CIS dogs quality is very low 2's 3's, don't forget it closes from 4 to 6pm. Alternatively you could try Jockies in the Panorama for early evening action, again low quality. Dubai really starts at 11pm onwards.
There I've been nice so dont ask me where the hotels are, ask the taxi driver or RTFF.
