Thanks for the post, our posts keep this board alive. Frankly I refuse to give contacts to one post wonders or "takers" that don't share. The few times I have they never come through with a post. My contribution to the board I guess.

I've just joined the site and am a regular visitor to Shanghai, 4-5 times a year since 2015. Have had some good hits and some big misses during my "career".

Thankfully I've established a small network in Nanjing Road and Jingan and have a few contacts on WeChat that I can fall back on if I don't see any value in Judys, which is more and more the case these days.

Last trip I stumbled on across Tantan and was able to hook up with a Filipino nanny for the week I was in Shanghai, all it cost me was a few meals, a few taxis, some hotel room service and I gave her 1000 RMB when I was heading to the airport. I'd lined up a few from Massage Republic while in Beijing but didn't need to call on them. Good job really as one of them is friendly with the girl I was with.

I guess the lesson here is to tread carefully in the Filipino community as there are some complications Because they all know each other.

Meanwhile, Rain was only in jail for less than a year. Anyway, yeah, I liked SNG a lot. My only beef was that he didn't publish negative reviews of the gals. But his site was otherwise reliable. Yeah, his gals did speak highly of him. And many mongers have met him and also liked him too. I love how he updated the status of the gals on a daily basis. I took his site for granted, and now that it's gone, I have to be pretty resourceful. NLO is a decent resurrection. I like that we can contact the gals directly. Was it helpful for people with no chinese skill who come on short trips? Yes for sure.

Was it helpful for people localy in Shanghai? For some yes again because of the language barrier but to others it made some girls which we had shared on the boards charge more than before. Jolin and later Hujin being good exemples. They were both posted on the Samster SG board for many months at 700 RMB / hour and suddenly poped up at 1200 RMB / hour on SNG. Same goes for others. I saw some of my reports about a MP I posted on that same SG board being rewritten on his blog and same goes for reports from other mongerers.

From what one of these girls told me back when he got busted she was ok with the commission paid to him and the receptionnist until they asked for a serious raise a few weeks before the bust. It was like 10% for the receptionnist and 20% for Steven and they wanted to put everyone on the site hotline to better monitor the transactions...

While he made a lot of money, the guy was just crazy being so vocal about his pimp job that I'm not surprised he got such a high sentence as a foreigner. He was totaly delusionnal about the risks taken. At the begining he even had an "about me" page where he'd talk about his work in a media agency or whatever and his real life identity / life. We are all big boys and can only blame ourselves if we get busted one day, but at least lets not lie to ourselves to the risks we take and while I can take the risk going to a MP, I'd never risk myself as a pimp...

That being said and despite my opinion about his carelessness, and dislike of him monetising the content we posted for free on various boards, I can only sympathise on his current condition and wouldn't wish 12 years in a chinese prison to anyone.
