While I agree that Santo Domingo offers way more for the hobbyist (one with balls!) Sosua has its charms. It's just a different experience, apple vs orange. Sosua has a nice beach, and is very relaxed. SD is a big unfriendly city.
They are only a four-hour bus ride apart, so my solution is generally to do both in the same trip.
That said, Santo Domingo is really a hidden goldmine. It's certainly more difficult to navigate than most mongering destinations. But if one can put up with all the bullshit, he will be rewarded handsomely. I applaud Pokeris for his boldness in jumping right in, even more so since he doesn't speak much Spanish.

Casa Azul is incorrectly identified on the monger map. On the monger map the actual location of Casa Azul is listed under Club MC. My bad for not catching that for you mate!
It's been mentioned that you gave a honest report. That it was! But honestly, I don't know how some people who actually claim they are veterans can continue to say that Santo Domingo este / Santo Domingo is hard to monger in. Your report illustrates the opposite. You hit the ground. Busted your nut. Saw sights. Had good food. Busted your nut again (BBBJCIM&COF) and didn't have to go to Sosua or Boca Chica to do it. Nor did you have a strong command of Spanish. The only reason that you didn't find Casa Azul was inaccurate information on the map. But now everyone has better information to work with. If that does not prove that you don't need to be a "veteran" to hire a prostitute in Santo Domingo I don't know what will. Easy is just that. Easy! It does not mean better.
As I see it, lack of accurate, current information is the only impediment to successful mongering in Santo Domingo este / Santo Domingo. Your maiden trip to Santo Domingo proves it. Now if only some of the "veterans" would fill in the gaps and holes and make the Santo Domingo forum great again!

We started in Santo Domingo. (Now it's time for my trip down memory lane). I too hit the ground and just used my common sense. I got laid everyday, sometimes twice a day for seven days and at the end of my trip I didn't want to leave Santo Domingo or the Dominican Republic. And I didn't have the language skills that I do now. Some of the most attractive women can be found in Santo Domingo. It is a combination of New York / Washington, District of Columbia (using cities in the USA As examples) but with great weather and a scenic coast line. Plenty of attractive and approachable girls that can be found here along with the ones for hire.
Others may see things differently. But, no matter how anyone wishes to spin your exact words it does not change a thing. You were a newbie, who did not speak Spanish very well who came into the city and got laid while also having great time doing other things. You didn't have to wait until Sosua to get BBBJCIM & COM. I want to correct you little bit. I didn't text massage girl back and didn't invite her to my guesthouse because she was not my type and I was thinking I will get something better but the agreed price is was 1500 pesos for short time full sex so its sounds correct right? Mambo Bar is old school, at least 15 years old. It's popular with 20 and 30 something Dominicans from Naco and LOS Prados with a little money to spare. They do a lot of bachelor parties. It's mostly a bar. Think of it as an indoor and slightly more upscale version of the bars on Avenida Espana. They are doing something right because I know a lot of Dominicans who swear by the place.
