East China - Shanghai

I noticed it was getting really windy lately. MPs that I drive by everyday to work on my scooter have been closed with locks on the doors. The big name shops seem to all be still open. The multiple store fronts with girls sitting on couches behind LuOne mall are closed with locks on the door. I Posted about those shops a couple days ago. I got a little suspicious that the shops were closed the day after I posted about them but maybe just coincidence base off your info. Anyways great to know I was going to go out and test the waters in new places this weekend but might just stick with my regulars and see if they can provide some info.

However, I doubt shops are closing or temporarily closing due to windy weather. I know a few shops that closed in the recent past, but that's only because business is only a fraction of what it used to be. I've talked to girls of several different shops, and they tell me that having 4 clients in a day was a slow day in the past before the pandemic, but now having 4 clients in a day is a great day. So, MPs are struggling to generate revenue to pay rent. The girls say the lower demand is partly due to a lack of foreigners coming to shop, but mostly because people are afraid to come to the shop in general. The girls thinks it's because of the virus, however, when I talk to my fellow monger friends, it seems they are afraid of enhanced contact tracing, that is, the government is now more aware of where we go. Regardless of why you are seeing closed shops, I do think the prudent thing to do is to stop doing any mongering until the Expo is over. The number of police that I see at intersections is ridiculous. I recently got a fine for a bicycle violation. If the police care this much about keeping traffic and bicycling orderly, then we probably shouldn't be mongering right now.

No real official opening date but I gave the BigChain you mentionned a go and the manager was closing it down and told me most likely for 15 days.

This is pretty much a custom during CIIE for Shanghai to be dry.
Problem is you have many outsiders including party inspectors and plain cloth from other provinces so the local police cannot protect BUT ALSO if something goes bad, the local police will be held accountable so they really don't want anything bad going on.
Hence the clear announcement they will also be raiding themselves places which remain opened.

A MP I went to today told me "yes here we will remain opened the whole time during the expo, come every day! (made me LOL) but they'll restrict entrance to former VIP card members and a few non VIPs whom they've known well over the years.
And its no longer a "take all cloths off place" as it used to be several years ago.

I went to a massage shop at the end of the street (heading north, right side, stairway up) and for a massage from the menu for 498 the HJ was included. It wasn't the best massage ever, but the girl was nice her service okay. No clue if more is possible, I haven't asked.

So I noticed that all the shops I mentioned previously except the big chain on madang road were closed since the beginning of the month. Randomly today I noticed every place was open and all my usual contacts were trying to get me in. Even the girls behind LuOne mall were back on the couch waiting. Could just be because of the double 11 holiday and everyone is trying to pump the business with discounts or maybe the storm has passed. Will try to keep people updated in the coming days.

Just sharing some places that are confirmed open and safe in the last two weeks:

Last century (or so it feels) when there were many many places to explore everywhere, Gubei was one of the centers of fun. Of the many options within Gubei there was strip of MPs on GuYang road near Gubei Rd where they competed for clients on the street as soon as they would get out of their taxi. That strip was demolished and replaced by a. I believe. A pet store, veggie massage and some other stuff.

Last week I followed an old contact to her new place of work, which turned out to be the (former veggie) MP on that exact spot. They have showers hidden behind some fake wallpaper. I think it would take a corrupt cop to 'accept' that as following the rules, but they seem to get away from it. They seem to suffer from lack of expats. Most of their regulars are Japanese and many have not returned. I paid the 298 RMB massage and can't comment on tip / other fees to expect for a HJ. The girls (who did FS before) told me that this place doesn't do FS but she's open if you bring a condom yourself (which I didn't).

Another place worth mentioning is an MP on the crossing of Fumin Lu and Julu Lu, they do really good HJ along with a solid massage for a 100 min session (but admittedly at a price: 598 RMB). I've actually taken the membership option (as the place does really good veggie massages as well) which gives 20% off if you put 2 k down. That's four sessions. I've used this place over the past two years, they have a good reputation as a veggie massage place so the girl said they never get police check (in fact asking her made her laugh).

Some places which remained opened but lowered their service card also went back to to normal service from that date.

There were still a few places in Guyang and there is still one which was posted about a couple months ago too.

Most places on Ronghua / Shuicheng got closed a couple years ago.

Maybe two different places then.

The room looked promising as there were some handcuffs and whips flying around but the massage was completely veggie (and I even asked the technician).

Is there a specific technician you have to asks for?

The technician mentioned to me that the SM stuff was from another shop also using the same rooms.

I was quoted RMB 488 (a bit high? For that I got a very decent massage, HJ was clearly included. The facilities were nice and clean, including the shower. The girl, a 6/7, asked for a tip to remove clothes, which was expected.

All in all, not a bad experience, although just a little on the pricey side. I will probably repeat, if only to see what the line-up is like.
