All this argumentation about Santa Fe boils down to differences and disputes about personal taste. If run down streets, dog shit on the sidewalk, trash everywhere, homeless drug addicts and others around, hood looking dudes milling about who look unsavory, but generally don't ever say a word to me, etc. If that stuff bother you intensely, then all the scantily clad girls standing in the doorways won't change it for you. Raz.[/QUOTE]As Woodman noted, 5-8 PM from my experience seems to have a high volume of girls, including the "better looking" ones, which of course is completely subjective. That said, I was pleasantly surprised at just how many were out at 9 AM on Monday of this week! There was easily 65-70% of the volume at peak times, and more than enough good ones to make a selection.
Plus, and this is the gambling aspect of Santa Fe, part of the fun of it is just walking the loop, seeing what's available, and if nothing piques your interest, walk it again and magically there are some new ones, sometimes better, sometimes not, but it's fun to see. At some point though, if you find one you like, pull the trigger, otherwise you'll walk 10 km and not have any fun to show for it!
As far as safety, I've walked SF, by myself, as late (early?) as 2:30 AM, mid morning, noon, mid-afternoon, evening, night, late night, etc. And never felt unsafe. Truly, most people don't pay attention to you, with the exception of the girls and the beggars. Keep your eyes open, especially when crossing at street corners because normal traffic rules for other countries really don't apply there and you don't want to get hit by a moto or a car.
