I now agree with you, he is not the guy he looked like in this report. But this post sounded very harsh. Maybe he had a bad day.

Maybe the guy deserves a break. But, he shouldn't make statements like thinking all girls in Bangkok can be had at a price. But, the assumption that girls on soi 4 are fair game is a reasonable one, I suppose. However, I have a couple of students who live on that soi and also a student friend who worked at The Ball in Hand and Metro (before the girls there starting going with customers-she quit because of that). Either way, one should be careful making declarative statements like that about Bangkok girls.

No attack, it's just that I see this all the time. Guys who don't know or understand Thai culture assume that all Thai women are available. News flash guys: they ain't. There are far more women that are unavailable to us because we are who we are than are available. But luckily there are enough to keep most of us happy without going where we aren't welcome.

Based on Bangkok lineup (I check it weekly...) I dont't think we will have any 8's or 9's. A solid 7 would be a good mark at Eden's!

From an old timer about this issue. My first trip to Bangkok was in 1989. Every independent girl spent the whole night with you, and for about $20 US or less. Most of the ones I met were at the old Thermae Coffee shop which closed down. I went back again to BKK in 1991. Most stayed all night, but a few were doing short time only. I went back in 1994, and the short time stuff was getting more and more. It was real bad in BKK the last time I went, about four years ago. But I went to Ko Samui afterwards and the girls I met there were mostly doing all nighters. Just wanted you younger guys to know how great Bangkok was in 1989, especially the old Thermae Coffee Shop. (I know old timers always talk about the "good old days" but I swear what I'm telling you is true.)

[/QUOTE]Hi Henry R. 1989 was 17 years ago. $20.00 in 1989 is at least the equivalent of $30.00 in 2006 dollars. My last several trips if you offered $30.00 for the night (To a freelancer in Pattaya) it wasn't that hard to find plenty of women who would stay the night for that much.

BKK might be a bit more but not unheard of. Maybe the current days aren't so bad, and maybe advancing age makes it harder to get the same "deal" you got when 17 years younger.

I second what you say regarding Thermae in the early and mid 90s. I had a girl from there that was very bright and a great time that I still think about. I kept her 3 days and she just wanted to stay with me and get fed the last day. She cried when I left for the airport.

I am at the Nana hotel and have just seen the thread on prices. I first came to Bangkok and Pattya in 2000, I could barfine Pattya girl for 200 BT and she stayed all night/day for 1000 BT, no more. Now barfine in Patttya is similar to BK and it's 2000 ST, great service, nice girls, I can't *****, if one looks at cost of living one cannot say PFP has gone up nearly as much as gas.

The is the continuing recollection of my recent, and first, trip to Bangkok.

On my next trip out I ventured into the Nana Entertainment Plaza. Without the photos and descriptions in previous posts the entrance to NEP would be easy to overlook. The action in the bar to the left of the entrance makes it easy to overlook the importance of that plain looking alley.

I wandered about for a bit and took in the sights and sounds of the Plaza. I was quite impressed by all the makeup, hairstyling and primping being done by the ladyboys on the third floor, but I was a bit concerned by how easy they were to mistake for the real thing. I quickly went back downstairs where I supposed I wouldn't have to check too closely for adams apples and manhands.

I finally decided on Rainbow II in the right, rear, corner of the plaza and sat down to enjoy the blasting music and cool temperatures. The ladies on stage seemed to be swaying rather unenthusiastically to the music and didn't seem to be making much effort to make smile or make eye contact with the few patrons in the bar -- it was a rather early 8pm. The hostess seemed to be extra friendly, and I was wondering if the extra barfine for a hostess would be worth the cost, when I noticed someone that was sitting at the foot of the stage facing my direction that was maintaining constant eye contact and smiling nonstop. I soon indicated that she should join me, and bought her a drink.

DeeDee was her name, and she was funny and attentive and showing more animation than all the dancers on the stage combined. After a couple of drinks each we decided to leave the bar and find somewhere more quiet to get to know each other better. I settled up the barfine and bar tab and we went upstairs. Now, at this point I have to say that I don't recall any posts that mentioned the short-time 'hotel' on the third floor of NEP. I'm sure I would have remembered if anyone had mentioned it, and I was a bit confused when DeeDee suggested going upstairs. So, for those of you that are also unaware, there are short-time rooms to be had on the third floor. 300 bhat for a real shower (hot water), bed and towels. I didn't check either the bed or towels too closely because I'd just as soon not know how clean they really were.

DeeDee was great. She was older than most of the other girls, so she actually looked like she was over 20 years old. She was lively and was joking around and wanted to learn more english. With the help of the shower faucet she now knows the meaning of the word "cold" and anyone that jokes around with her might help her practice the hard way. Speaking of the hard way, DeeDee was as much fun between the sheets as she was in the bar and we practiced several different positions before finishing up in doggy. She continued to be very personable and made sure to clean everything up in the shower afterward. Her scrubbing technique almost led to another round, but previous activities prevented that from happening.

Thanks to all the homework I did on this site before my travels, I knew the going rate for short time and DeeDee and I went our separate ways, her with the requisite 1500 bhat and me with the indelible memory of a good time had.

Regarding Krypto Knights' post, which is skeptical about my previous post that LT in Bangkok used to be much more common years ago. I definitely realize my advancing age is part of it. But I do know things changed a lot from 1989 to 1994, from my first trip to my third. The prices are not my main point. My main point is the ST vs LT. I have friends who went to BKK a lot, much more than me, and they said at the time (1994) that things were really changing from LT to ST. I don't think we all imagined it, or all of us aged that much in three years, from my second trip in 1991, which was almost all LT, to my third trip in '94 when ST started to take over.
