I am think of spending 3 to 6 months in the Dominican Republic, in order to do so, I need to be able to rent an apartment in a city or area where I can obtain a DSL, CABLE or T1 internet connection. Is this possible to attain in cities such as Santo Domingo, Punta Cana, Santiago or San Cristobal. I need the service to be reliable especial between the hours of 8 A. M. To 4 P. M.
I would greatly appreciate any information.

Lapsus is a "casa" or "putero" and they have a strip show by midnight. You walk to the back part of Jaragua hotel, this is where garden rooms and parking are located. Then walk to the exit to Independencia Ave., cross to the other side of the avenue, walk 15 seconds to your left and there you are. It has been there for over a decade. Girls available for short or long term.

While I haven't been to DR for a few years, the main reason why I stopped going there was, in part, because of the non-functioning infrastructure. The electricity was very unreliable a few years ago, sometimes on for only 4 hours in a day. Under Lionel Fernandez, things may changed but I am sure not by very much.
And you are asking for a T1 connection????? I would suggest you try a richer country, maybe Colombia or Brazil. DR is very third world and you will find that out when you try to live there.

Thanks[/QUOTE]It is like a strip club inside. They have a small bar, some small round tables and another part that had longer bench or couch type sitting with tables, the place was dark. I was in there years ago. They have a small stage and some girls will do a strip show. I don't remember the prices. There is another bar with chicas about three blocks from the jaragua going in the direction of the Hilton, about 100 feet off the malecon (between the malecon and independencia, I don't remember the name of the cross street). I was in this bar in July, nothing special. I visited this bar a few years ago and it was better.

and you are asking for a t1 connection????? i would suggest you try a richer country, maybe colombia or brazil. dr is very third world and you will find that out when you try to live there.[/quote]the electricity has gotten better. i used to always carry a very small flashlight, about the size of a quarter. also handy in the clubs for seeing your money. in the dark clubs it can be hard to see what size bill you are giving the waiter. i can remember being on calle duarte in boca chica when the lights would go out. most bathrooms in apartments or houses i have visited have a large pail or plastic trash container filled with water, i guess occasionally they lose running water, not sure if that is because of the lack of electricity, at times. appears the electric is better now. they must have high speed connections there, that is what the atm machines use to dispense cash, as well as for credit cards in some places.

Tha place 100 feet off the malecon is la Parada, just one block from Jaragua, almost in the corner of Independencia ave. Next to it is a car wash and an open terrace bar, the one with the big neon beer sign, also named La Parada. It is less than five minute walking from Independencia Ave. exit of Jaragua, just walk to your left in the same sidewalk.

I agree with Jasousa, my first vist there was about 3 years ago, pretty girls but Remington was the place to visit at that time so I chose a girl from Remington instead of la Parada. On my last travel (oct 2008) I visited Foxys, Babydoll, Girls House, Sky House and casa Modelos. In terms of price Girls House was 2500, Sky and modelos 3000, Babydoll 3500 and Foxys between 3500 to 4000. In terms of beauty Babydoll was #1 at that time, the other places have some cuties , Girls house have more girls to choose. I think every place in SD is worth a visit, it is fun to see the lineup of girls and almost always there is a cutie on each group of girls. La Parada was 2500 but I think it is now 3k.
I've been there twice in the last 3 months and saw nothing I liked. Very aggressive chicas. However, a friend who lives there tells me at times it has some nice chicas. I'm guessing there is turnover.

Some of these chicas also work serving the tables on la Parada, the open terrace bar in the malecon area (the one with the big neon beer sign).
I recently came upon a great deal on a flight to PUJ, whats the cheapest way to get to SD from PUJ?? From what I hear a taxi cost about 150 each way. How about bus rides?

He even admitted to me his laziness and that he needed to get off his arse. It never happened. In fact, I unplugged the 866 phone line on 13 November, it took until the last week of November for anyone to even notice and then a week after that before Paul states he will resolve the issue. The only effort Paul made to resolve the issue is to e-mail me and call me once about a week ago. I wouldn't call that an effort to resolve the issue.
I cannot take responsibility for a poorly run organization anymore.
Fellas, in the past few years, adult vacation resorts have flooded the DR. While I still believe that TS is a fun place to go, there are other places that are the same and in a lot of ways better. If you are wondering where these places are, just Google adult vacations in the DR and many of them will pop up.
I sincerely wish TS success and I have to add regret for leaving the organization. I have traveled to many resorts such as this one and believed at one time we were the best, but not anymore.[/quote]

How about bus rides?[/QUOTE]My friend took a bus from Santo Domingo to Punta Cana, I think it was 3 hours. There was a nasty accident on this route about about two months ago. A bus went around a disabled vehicle and hit head on with another vehicle, coming in the opposite direction. People in the news said the aftermath was pretty gruesome, body parts strewn about the accident location. A bunch of Italian tourists were killed. I would imagine one way bus fare would be less then 10 dollars. I can ask my friend for more info if you want.
