But also there are plenty of businessmen who travel to or through Bangkok once or very rarely, and fancy trying a bit of what Thailand is famous for. For them, a one-night affair with an expensive escort who can be ordered over the internet is a god-send. And if you are only doing it once a year then frankly cash probably doesn't matter.

I have probably told the story already of an Indian businessman sitting next to me on the plane who calmly bragged that he had 2 escort girls come over for a 'massage', and negotiated the price down from 14K to a mere 10K Baht. But he didn't want FS, so he settled for a HJ.

If the escort is on a website then she probably only gets 50% of the fee,

So she can be other places, ask half of her escort price and still do OK,

My flight arrived 1 hour early last night so I was able to take the Airport Rail Link to Makkasan station. It only operates from 6 am to 12 midnight. The Express Line train (non-stop to Makksan) takes 15 minutes and runs every 15 minutes and costs 150 baht. At the airport, the Suvarnabhumi station is located right under the main terminal building (B1 Level, two floors below the Arrival Hall). I took the 11:45 pm train that arrived at 11:45, left 5 minutes later, & arrived at Makksan at 12:05. There was only 1 other person on board and ample room for luggage. It is clean & fast. At Makksan station, I took a taxi to my Sukhumvit area hotel for 65 baht (tipped the coins so 80 baht). Total cost was 230 baht, slight cheaper than the 400 baht taxi ride but of course you must transfer from rail to taxi. Timewise might be about the same as taking a taxi all the way except during rush hour because of the transfer from rail to taxi. It is just a little faster & a little cheaper.

Diesel[/QUOTE]From what I have read and heard, Poseidon's upstairs model lounge is the most high end soapie experience. Amsterdam's models are also very high-end. Expect to pay 5-6k minimum.

I don't think there are any "high end" oilies as such. They're all about the same caliber although you get more bang for your buck at Snow White, Tulip, and Mango.

How many mongers actually do LT when they are in their home country? I think LT is something unique to visitors and expats no matter what the country may be (although generally countries that are not as well off economically as those in North America, Western Europe, or Eastern Asia). I used this service once and found it excellent but was surprised by the small number of people using it when one consider BKK high tourism. I was there last March in peak hrs (1pm) but all halls were deserted. For all the money and effort invested in this service its ashame to see such results.

I don't know if porters are available during the daytime but if you have so much luggage that you need help, I recommend that you just take the taxi from the airport directly and save yourself the extra trouble for only $5 difference. I had 1 small bag & a backpack & it was very easy for me. I would not do it if I had 2 large bags or traveling with 2 or more people.

It is about the same 230 (toll not included) that you paid in total. It appears that building that train was a waste of money. Back in March I took a metered taxi from Wat Pho back to Nana Hotel in over an hour's worth of heavy traffic. The driver waited 10 minutes for me and my brother to get our luggage then took us to the airport. The final total on the meter was under 400 baht. I gave him 420 for being a good sport.
