Bangkok Hotels
I'm suprised that you don't complain that Citadines 11 is 450m down Soi 11 and subject to heavy traffic at night from Bed Supper Club and other discos so close by.

GP was already far enough at about 300m, but the walk would do me good of course. ;)

Although I have liked Soi 11, I am thinking of staying in Petchburi Road, Pratu Nam when with GF, as she likes to go to Platinum Fashion Mall and Phanthip Plaza too much (gets boring). :(
Would you stop... you are making folks think I'm a 150 kg lunatic geez.... :D

First of all work starts to ring me at 4 am so the night time when the traffic is bad I'm usually already in bed with a girl or two... So who cares about the traffic ;) And by 6 am I'm walking to Asok to TruFitness for a little spinning so that little 150 extra meter walk past GP is nothing...

Yeah the TGF that you know likes Platinum but I make her BTS it to Chitlom and walk up past Zen... the walk does her good, makes her remember that she could be standing in the field in Isaan if she does not study hard in school. Plus I hate white skin I gotta find ways to keep her dark (bronze / tanned) complexion.

Honestly, we are moving more towards Dusit properties as well as some over by Victory Monument and some down off the MRT. Really thinking about getting away from Sukhumvit area.
Stayed at Paradiso Suites in August and it is GF. Very new hotel. Good.
Thanks very much for the info Theant.
A few days ago I stayed at the Darjelling Hotel.

Hotel is very GF. The girl left her ID card at the front desk when she came into the hotel but I don't think that was even necessary. She took the ID card out and put it on the counter by herself without prompting.

It is a good value, 1400B/night (low season), wifi in all rooms, comfortable room and bed with bathtub and clear window to room, simple breakfast. Safe in ROOM. Location is good, really only 3 minutes to Soi Cowboy.
Thank for the confirmation Yellow Fever #2.
For daytime BKK the area surrounded by Rachdamri - Wireless - Ploenchit is better because it is more convenient and more interesting, IMHO.
The area is quite nice for shopping, eating and 'sight-seeing but quite different from Sukhumvit....

Wireless is actually quite a distance from Ratchadamri (they are parallel to each other). And in btw is a one way street/large Soi, LangSuan.

ChitLom BTS is closer to Wireless.
Central BTS is next stop.
Ratchadamri BTS is on separate line.

Langsuan has quite a few small service apts and boutique hotels, plus lots of places to eat.
Ratchatdamri has the Four Seasons (formerly the Regent), Grand Hyatt Erawan and in btw a soi that includes the Grande Centrepoint and Courtyard Marriott.
And on Ploenchit there is the IC on one corner and slightly off the other corner, the new Central Centara Hotel (behind Zen) and close to Siam Paragon.
So it is a compromise. I have stayed at the Four Seasons and the Conrad. A friend of mine always stays at the Athenee. They are all good choices if you have the money. The Marriott Courtyard is the less expensive alternative in the area.
Actually the best buy and a gem that is seldom mentioned is the Grande Centrepoint - recommend it highly. It is totally GF, the studio room (smallest unit available but quite large) can be had on-line for under B$2200 with free WiFi, breakfast included, large lap pool, great fitness center with sauna. It's walking distance to BTS Ratchadamri, walking distance to Siam and two stops to MBK.

One bedroom unit slightly more, about B$3200 on-line. There are also larger 2 and 3 bdrm units but they are usually only available for long term stays.
I am looking for a cheap hotel (Girl Friendly) with wi-fi for one night at Bangkok, should be close to most of the Bangkok's hot spots i.e massage centers/bars/clubs etc.
In addition, I am looking for Hotels close to Sukhamvit.

At the bottom it says $49 additional tax per night, so what good is it?

any experiences there?

But there are so many good choices in BKK these days. I am booking my February - March trip and I am finding many good values to be had these days. I think the recession is still taking its toll on the Thai tourism industry. That may be bad news for the Thais, but good news for those that will travel there in the next few months. Besides good hotel values I hope to find even more appreciative girls. I can't wait!

In addition to Grande Centrepoint deal you mentioned, I see the Athenee for $108, Courtyard for $81 and corner room at Park Plaza for $105. In addition, I am finding pretty good rates in Pattaya too. Fantastic. What I don't spend on hotels, I can garnish on the girls when they exceed my expectations.
any experiences there?
Its great if you want a blow job bar right outside your Hotel. :D

But seriously, this was a very old Hotel when I stayed there 15 years ago.
So much better choices are nearby, e.g. Dynasty Grande, Dawin, Majestic Suites, etc.
Someone recommended Paradiso recently and is cheap on Latestays at 1400 baht per night.

Small correction.
The interchange BTS station is called Siam (pronounced Sa-yarm) rather than "Central".

Good catch, thanks!
Actually the best buy and a gem that is seldom mentioned is the Grande Centrepoint -
It has been mentioned, and seconded several times. The studios are well appointed but small, the One Bedroom is excellent and SOP. The late night monger walk is a bit far though, and even good local taxis are fucking clueless as to where it is at 3 am (not going to say much more than that.)

The place is definitely worth it. In general it's my top recommendation for business people, friends and associates, again, SOP.

BTW: All Centre Points are blind eye guest friendly.
It has been mentioned, and seconded several times.
I believe it was you who mentioned it and I who seconded it some weeks back :D

And good for long stays IMHO...

I've noticed that Thai Hotel Discounts have some very good deals at the moment. I've never used them but am considering it for my my next trip.

As an example they have the GM for 2560 until the end of October:

Others such as Admiral Premier are significantly cheaper than Wotif.

As best I can tell, these prices include taxes with a small admin charge per booking.

I have no involvement with this business but Tim seems quite helpful on other forums and feedback seems good.
