Wow 100 days wish I have can do that just return on my 7 week business trip mostly in China and Hong Kong only spend 4 days in Manila and AC and 5 days in Bangkok and Pattaya, if your trip is mainly for mongering then Thailand, pi and Indonesia is a must do side trip to Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia and Macau many interesting place to visit not the best country for mongering.

Trying to decide between LA Cafe and Makati personally to me is irrelevant. You can go to either one from each other in a metered taxi using the meter for relatively cheap. It could take 15-20 minutes in easy traffic or longer with traffic. Not sure if you will find much traffic on that weekend or not.

Prior to being screened I watch my bag as it starts through x-ray and then immediately pick it up on the other side, in an attempt to limit the opportunity of the airport folks to mess with it. It's important here to remain continuously vigilant and suspicious. In light of the current scam I'm wondering if I should purchase a carry-on with no accessible external compartments.
