If you mention you've been with a woman for free, they will make gestures like skin eruptions. But I think, supported by the scarce statistics, that the diffusion of diseases is about the same.

Of all the non-working girls I met in SE Asia very few insisted on Condoms. Only the girls in China insist on the condom, mainly to avoid getting pregnant. After a few dates they do not insist either.
In other SE countries none bothered. I think they are thinking that we are regular visitors not mongers who jump in with other girls. Some do say and want to know how many girls I am meeting. I do not think we pay for sex and meet working girls also. They are more concerned if we meet other non-working girls and leave them.

A girl that insists that a condom be used is safer than one who doesn't. We can't tell if she insists all of the time, and its unlikely if she has a regular Thai man, but if she insists with no-one at all, she must be more risky. In any case, if she insists, then you have some protection, and if she doesn't insist, you can wisely decide to protect yourself.
So yes the part about free or paid is not as important, however there is some chance that higher class P4Ps are being tested regularly. I am not aware of what percentage of P4Ps will not insist, it probably depends on their brain power and fatalistic beliefs.
