Got here yesterday. 15,000 Indriver from the airport to Oz Luxury in Laguito where I am staying. My girl that lives here brought her daughter and we went to the beach. You can not walk 5 feet around this place without somebody trying to sell you something or wanting money from you. The kid wanted to go to McDonald's so we took her there. While we were ordering on the computer some lady comes up to me and said I am hungry too. Can you buy me something. I said bich please. Well I did not really say that. I just shook my head no.

My twin cousins are celebrating their birthday. There are 7 of us in the group. I do not miss traveling with a bunch of people. I am used to doing what I want when I want. It takes 5 minutes for us to just cross the street because people's attention is focused on different things. Two guys are getting numbers from hookers, while one guy is trying to buy a beer, another guy is at a food cart, somebody else is looking at souvenirs, and someone else is listening to a tout trying to rip them off.

We were at the clock tower last night and a lady named Shirley was actually giving the real price of the all day island boat tour with lunch included. She said 140,000. I said wow that is too much. Then she knocked it down and said okay 120,000 each person. Meanwhile another 2 people in our group was talking to a tout that was trying to rent us a boat for 2,800,000 pesos. I said man are you out of your mind. He said it is only $700 and you can do what you want on it. He said what do you want it for $20 each? I said yes. He called us cheap and one person in the group said he heard him call us the and word. I said I have no idea. I really stopped listening when I heard $700. Hell, I was in the Navy. I am not impressed by boats.

They were interested in drinking so we stopped in at a restaurant / bar called Texas. Walking there, every 5 feet someone was stopping trying to get the contact of a hooker. They wanted to keep drinking but I told them we needed to leave and hit some spots.

The Indriver on the way to the clock tower gave us a list: Tentaciones, Chicas Lindas, Travesuras, Paraiso del Marino. I cross-check it with the Cartagena Lists thread and also google searched. Indriver guy asked us if we had exact change. The price from Laguito to clock tower was 14,000 pesos. I said man how are you going to be driving and not have change. He said that he just started. He only had 10,000 pesos. He is an engineer and just got off work from his day job.

First place I chose was La Sucursal. We called 2 more Indrivers to go there from the clock tower. 12,000 pesos and 10 minutes away. While waiting for Indriver somebody decided they needed to buy a Corona from one of the vendors. I do not know what the communication was but they understood it would be 5,000 pesos. After the guy handed him the beer he wanted 20,000 pesos. So maybe the guy was saying $5? My cousin told him to just give the beer back. Well the vendor had already opened it. He raised bloody hell. He was cursing us out in Spanish and finally just poured the beer out when he realized it was not going to get paid for.

I could see neon lights up in the distance to where the address I actually put in Indriver led to. And we had 2 Indrivers so one group of guys had already arrived. I told my cousins let's walk up to the other place. Yes. That place was La Surcusal. But we did not see the other guys there, so my cousins went back to Pley Club to check while I did the recon in La Surcusal.

There were about 10 girls. I took a look at the menu and asked one girl how much she wanted. She said 300,000. That is when I decided to leave and see what the guys were doing in Pley Club.

On my way down the street, they were coming back to get me. So they did a you turn and we went back in where the other fellas were and pulled up another table. I asked one chick how much she wanted and she said 450,000 for 30 minutes. These chicks were better than La Sucursal and the ambiance was better as well. I ordered a Gatorade which set me back $20,000 as can be seen in the Pley Club menu attached. What the fuck. The other guys still had the Indriver guy with them. We were there at least 2 hours.

Once during that time all the girls came over and introduced themselves to each of us individually, then they went back to sitting down looking bored. 1 chick also did a strip show during that time. She was dancing on all of us and when she finished, one of the guys gave her $20. I said man don't do that shit! That is why the place is fucked up now. I explained to them about how in some places when the girl finishes the show she comes around and people give her 2,000 pesos. It is all a learning experience for guys that don't know though.

I was ready to go check another place out but finally one guy decided to take a chick. After he took her, then some of the other chicks came over sitting on each of our laps socializing. A couple of the guys bought them drinks (appeared to be something like Smirnoff Ice) at 60,000 pesos.

One of my cousins swear his chick told him 200,000 and she is his all night. I said man I think you are hearing things. All of them were using that Google Translate. Another of my cousins speaks a bit of Spanish. Besides him and me, it was all GT for the rest of the guys.

I think my cousin that thought the girl said 200,000 went to the bathroom and I pulled his girl over on me asking how much she wanted. She told me 450,000 for 30 minutes or all night for 1,250,000. So when my cousin came back I told him maybe the chick is saying you have to pay the place 200,000 for her to leave with you and still did not tell you how much you have to give her. But he swears that was not the case.

Other prices guys got from girls was 250,000 and 350,000. All the time we were there there were no other guys. I told my crew that if you walk into a place and look around and there are no Colombians then you are about to get fucked and not in a good way. And especially since all the while we were there it was alllll American hip hop played. There were 25 girls in all and I don't see how they can be making a living if the place is empty.

The guy that took the chick was taking so long that we thought he must have fell asleep in the room. I did not find out until later, but another one of the guys even paid 450,000 peso for the Indriver guy to get laid. Said it was his first time getting some pussy in 8 months.

I told the Indriver guy let's head to a place geared towards Colombians. The other guy finally came out of the room and we went outside. The Indriver guy was calling another one of his taxi friends to come take us. The first Indriver guy was actually a yellow taxi by the way. I asked a taxi parked in front with Pley Club stickers on his car about taking us to Chicas Lindas. He said 10,000 pesos. But the Indriver guy said the place up the street is Chicas Lindas. But that is fucking La Sucursal! So maybe it was Chicas Lindas before and changed names was all I could think.

While waiting for the Indriver's taxi friend we went across the street where people were selling meat filled arepas for 15,000. It was a mix of beef, chicken, salchicha, and chicharron. I had barebecue sauce on mine too. That shit was so damn good. Finally the other guy showed up and we were off on a wild ride to god knows where.

When we pulled up and the smoke cleared, I could see we were at another place on the list: Travesuras. I walked in first like I owned the place. First chick I saw I went up to her and asked how much. She said 180,000. I told her that is too much. She dropped down to 150,000 for 50 minutes. I said we might have a deal. The other fellas came in and we went upstairs and put 2 tables together. We looked at the menu and ordered our drinks. Drinks here were half the price of Pley Club and there was nothing but loud ass reggaeton being played. I knew we were in the right place. There were also 2 separate Colombians with 1 girl each drinking and shit with them.

I ordered a Gatorade for 10,000. All the other guys ordered water. Except one of my cousins who ordered a half bottle of rum. When it came we all took shots, except his twin who was beat from the long day and all the other drinking he had done. He was ordering drinks 2 and 3 at a time at the other places. All he wanted to do was sleep now. So he went off by himself to sleep. That half bottle went quick so my cousin ordered a full bottle this time.

I had called the chick over that I talked to earlier. I asked her what she wanted to drink and she said Budweiser for 18,000 pesos I was trying to talk her into one the the cheaper Aguila Lights for 12,000, but she would not go for it. Come to find out she is Venezuelan. All the chicks are Venezuelan and live at the club. I asked her how much for all night and she said 700,000. I decided to take her upstairs. We get up there and I hand the lady in charge 150,000. She said that was not enough. Huh? We had a deal. The chick told me to kick in another 50,000 and we could go. I said fuck that then went back downstairs. I told the other guys what happened. One said man that girl is fine as fuck. Only $61? You should get her. I am just so used to the 80,000 in those type places in Bogota and Medellin. So I decided to go back up with her. This time I handed her 180. Now they are saying it has to be 250. Man fuck this bullshit. I went back downstairs for good.

We start getting ready to go. For some reason one of the guys is pouring the rest of the rum into an empty coke bottle. I said man we can take the bottle with us. He paid for it. Just then come to find out there is a free dance included when you buy a bottle. The waiter cleared the tables out of the way and arranged the chairs in a circle. We sat down and chick came over with a black dildo and did her thing. She was dancing on all of us and getting guys to hold the dildo like it was their dick, while she sucked it. Eventually she had all her lingerie off and was putting the dildo inside of herself. It was still a great way to end the night. My cousin ended up spending 335,000 for what was a total 1 liter of rum.

We got back to where they were staying (Miami Luxury Apartments and Hotel for the guys that are looking for a girl friendly place). Hell I already said that I stayed at Oz Luxury Hotel and that is girl friendly too. In each place the girl has to provide ID and they write the shit down and stuff. I asked our driver how much we owed him and he said to ask his friend. That is when I found out my boy had spent $110 to get him a girl at the club so he did not want to give him anything else. So our taxi guy finally said he wanted 100,000. I did not argue. I gave him 50,000 and my cousin who bought the rum gave him 50,000. That is when we found out he had videoed the girl dancing in Travesuras. I had him send me a copy of the video then I walked to my hotel. It was 2 am.

When I first went to Colombia and went to Santa Fe, I remember hooking up with a girl for like $10 and she was cute and nice, not that great in bed but cheap. I had no idea what to pay the women from seeking and used the escort scales and was giving them between $80 and a $100 back then and they probably in hindsight they would have been happy with less. Now I am hearing guys being quoted between $400 and $1000 an hour. One guy said it makes more sense for him to play in that USA market now. That is fucked up.

When I was in Spain, it was obvious to me that the Spanish people are not having as many children and the South Americans are filling in the gaps. A tour guide living in Spain was bragging about making $15,000 a year which was 3 X more than he would be making in Colombia. This reinforced to me the notion that Europe was more expensive to me than South and Latin America and that my marking off Europe as a mongering destination was smart.

Thing about Europe is that it pummels you if you are not prepared. We had two nonalcoholic drinks near the center of an Italian town and got hit with a $30 bill. I did not want to chance a train to the airport and did Uber instead. It was $200 versus $40. You can fly anywhere in Europe dirt cheap but if you make last minute plans, the fares can go from $30 to $300, and the train fares can do likewise. There is a learning curve.

A 2 miles Uber trip that cost $5 in Cartagena cost $30 in Europe. So after being burned a few times, I got out on the lime app rented an e-bike or scooter, and it was $5 for the same trip and fun. With time, I would have learned the trains, subways, and busses, and they probably would have been even cheaper.

And while they are $15 nonalcoholic cocktails, on a trip to the local European version of Walmart, Carrefour, I spotted bottles of wine for $1. 50. Maybe you can find that in Walmart but I have not seen it. The midlevel hotels, the Holiday Inn and Hampton Inns, were double that of Cartagena but I found Airbnbs in nice locales that could be had for what a midlevel hotel in Cartagena costs of similar quality.

In summary, that whole concept of Europe being expensive vanished. It can be affordable if you know what you are doing and plan correctly. You can do a trip and have the same costs in Europe as Colombia. I did not see any difference with the price of restaurant meals. And the hooker prices now are in the same league and you can find plenty of Latinas in Europe.

Then there is the travel. If you fly NYC to Bogota, that is a five hour flight. I flew from NYC to the Azores in Portugal on Azores airlines. That is a five hour flight too. From the Azores, you can get to most places in Europe in 3 hours. Yes, the flight time is less than if you go to to Cartagena through Florida but when I go to Cartagena and come back, it is in the 7 to 10 hour range which is the same as getting to much of Europe with Azores. I looked for the cheapest one way fares on Azores to Europe and found one for $297. That is only $100 more than the cheapest fares I ever have found to Colombia.

So now I was like what is really worse about Europe, and once I saw how Europe could be done, the only true negative is the jet lag.

But then there are the positives. The roads are great. The food is better and healthier. The places are cleaner and safer. You can go to the beaches and not get harassed. While Spain, Portugal, and Italy are not the economic stars in Europe, the infrastructure is light years ahead of Colombia. And you do not have to deal with the sex trafficking sneering.

Yes, Colombia is an upgrade over the USA in terms of the women, but for me, that was always more Medellin than anywhere else. It has been rare for me to see a bevy of beauties in Cartagena, and Bogota has hot women but the weather and the clothes needed to be worn distract from seeing the potential beauty. Still, Colombia has the USA beat but think about that difference in looks. Now multiply that difference by two and you have how much better looking the women were in Southern Europe compared to Colombia. Yes, really.

And it is hard finding a spinner in Colombia. They got the fuller, bigger, harder asses. Maybe the gut pooches out more than the attractive European with the flat abs and smaller butts. The USA women have gotten so much bigger we do not see that as much now though. In Southern Europe though, they are all over the damned place. Only place you could find more are in Asia but these women blow their Asian counterparts away looks wise.

Maybe the notoriously cold European attitude would be reason to be stay away but I did not see that much particularly among the Spanish and Portuguese, and there are Latinas there anyway. I did not talk to the women in Italy but I suspected many of the hotties were not from there. They did not look Italian.

So thanks for the report Mr. E, but like with the other reports, my take is why should anyone outside of those living in South Florida look to go to Colombia now? Maybe if people quit coming to Colombia in the numbers they are, it will go back to what it was.

Travesuras Night Club. Bar, Dg. 31 #54-127 Segundo Piso, El Rubí, Cartagena de Indias (mapped by Google). Ask the driver to take you to Bomba El Amparo area. This is a local spot for years. There should be couple of other clubs along Travesuras. Pley Club on the other hand is for cruise ship folks.

When I was in Moscow it was incredibly cheap and if you were careful you could get by dirt cheap and live like Rock Star. You can spend crazy money their, but there is just no need.

If I had my dream life I would spend my time between CDMX and Moscow. Unfortunately Moscow is out of the question now with the war. Just for the record, the safest I have ever felt was in Moscow, it is totally opposite to what the media says. Also, the city is so clean. So much fun, I miss those days, but honestly CDMX is almost as fun and hot chicks everywhere, not like Russia, but they are everywhere and attainable.

I will pay a little extra too be in safe city. The other issue with Colombia is all the sex tourist, I almost never see them in CDMX. I do see them in MTY, but it really is not that often, now in Colombia they are everywhere.
