Just came back from the Jaragua casino. I was at the casino at 10 30 pm on Thursday to look for the talent. It was packed with regular crowd. All the blackjack or poker tables were occupied (P. S. I am not a casino guy so I don't know what they were playing. All I see is cards and a table with green mat). I was there for less than 2 minutes. Went around the casino and did not find any girl that seemed like a hooker. Maybe I should have taken a slot machine and spend sometime so someone would approach me. I felt bad to spend more time as I am neither staying in their hotel nor I was gambling. So I felt uncomfortable and left. Maybe I will try to visit some other day as I live in the apartment right next to hotel Jaragua.

I had a similar problem too in my first visit in September 2016. I met a taxi driver outside Jaragua named Pedro. He took me to couple of clubs in the city and then ended up choosing a girl from La21 in av. Pasteur (which is closed now). The mistake I did was I let the taxi guy did all the talking and I was told I was paying for all night but the girl told she received money for 2 hours from her boss / manager and she had to leave. It was my first time and I had an early flight next day so I did not want to make any scene. So I let her go. But I did visited Santo Domingo again and now I really have a good hang of this place and good chicas contacts and forum members to help out about new places and prices I am supposed to pay. You will not regret the decision to come back to Santo Domingo again. It would be awesome if someone from the forum who lives here or is an expat could volunteer (paid or free) to get newbies hang of the place before the taxis and touts rip them off and give them a bad experience of Santo Domingo.

When you meet a Dominican like that who speaks perfect English he has probably been deported from the USA.

The Casas are usually your most expensive option. It is best to avoid them.

You were in the perfect spot on the Conde and at Pacos. Working girls always show up at Pacos or around there. Or you could take a walk on the Conde and keep a look out for the chicas who are working. They will give you the look.

You should learn some basic spanish before you go back. That's makes all the difference.

Clearly you made some rookie mistakes. But you learned. You seem to have the spirit to learn some of the language to make your trip better next time. Good luck.

Newbies, do the home work. Before you land on flower land. Never stay alone like that. Any thing can happen in foreign country when you do not know language. As soon as you pull out phone / translator they know how to take advantage of you. Never bring cabbies inside clubs. Get the phone no. And tell him I will call you. Manager or mamasan would pay commission to cabbies / tours. For first timers better visit casa and stay there for couple of hours. Bring your condones. I have noticed lately chicas playing hard ball.

Usually just a bunch of middle aged or old ass ladies playing slot machines.

The Merengue bar is the place inside the casino with live shows. It is in a corner of the casino.

Your time would be better spent on the Conde where you will pay 1,000 to 1,500. There is no reason to pay more than 1,000 other than to avoid the negotiation. Give a long look to any girl you find attractive. If she does anything other than look away you have a deal.

There will probably be responses to this that make the process sound more complicated but it is no more complicated than what I said. This is how much Spanish you need: "mil" (pronounced sort of like the word "meal" in English). More Spanish, more conversation, more complications, more money out of your pocket. Keep it simple and you will get what we want with minimal hassle. Come back with questions if you try this approach.

After you get to nut a few times then you can practice Spanish and develop into a "sabe mucho" player like some of our members.

I have been staying on Conde when I visit SD for 8 years. Rarely do I see anything better then a 6. Some of the massage girls are decent and will go back to your room for 1500. In all cases you get what you pay for. The quality of the girls in the casinos tendss to be a bit better and more professional. Conde girls are often a bit more desperate and will promise the world including their ass. Never the less you can make do where ever you are.

Whenever I use a uber. I try to ask him for the driver number so he can pick me up and use him for airport transfers. Tonight I called one of the uber drivers number that I had when I to head to helipad (I think it is cheaper to call a uber driver than get a regular taxi by the hotels if you want to venture a couple of spots with no exact destination.). We agreed for 300 pesos to go there and wait till I get a girl and then come back. I told him I need to go to the helipad and there is a club on the other side of the road. We didn't see any club exactly on the opposite of the road (maybe we missed it). But we saw something on the other side after we drove for 1 or 2 minutes. The club was named Afuego and it is located at the intersection of calle primera procasa and av. Autopista 30 de mayo. The place has a bar and a sitting area with restaurant style tables and 4 chairs and I did see some food being served too. There were only 3 girls when I visited but the owner was a thick blonde lady and goes by the name of yanet or Janet and she told me she can call some girls if I can wait for 30 minutes. I knew this 30 minutes is not literal 30 minutes and would end up more than an hour. So I got her contact number for whatsapp and told her I will be back some other day.
