Most likely a scam I would say, as I have heard of fake providers taking 200 rmb deposits and then disappearing. Remember that 200 rmb is still a fair amount of money to some in China in these less desirable economic times, and so to them it's worth the hustle.

I have read through recent posts but it looks a lot more challenging in Shanghai these days and given my time constraint I need to set a target location and go for it. So I was really just asking what might be logistically the best option. I do of course note the other reply to my original question that my layover isn't long enough. In the past I would have headed to one of the spas in the airport hotels for a rub and tug but I'm not sure if this is still an option.

There are a couple of shops on Lancun Road opposite the Hilton Pudong, but they're not so near PVG, about 20-30 min by taxi. I was doing some jobs in that area a couple of years ago, and at that time I think it was around 400-500 for an hour oil massage which included a standard HJ by a late 30's average looking provider in normal unsexy uniform. However, as it's been a couple of years since I was last in that area, I don't know if the shops or services are still the same.

I am just ending a 3 week trip here to see my Shanghai girlfriend for the first time since the epidemic. Besides the obvious good time it seems a little barren now. The streets are cleaned up. If you're a young good looking guy like you say you are, you could try picking up a normal girl at la suite as you mentioned, or Revolucion 2 minutes walk from there, or one of the bars / clubs down at Found 158, but long gone are the days of young pretty Chinese ladies falling over themselves to go home with a foreigner a couple of hours after meeting them. Still, if you're out in those places, why not give it a go.

I will have 3 evenings and stay at Jing'an area, so I will probably checkout all of them (with low expectations). Regarding Judy's, it's hard find the current address. Anyone knows, which one is the right ATM?

Thanks![/QUOTE]Although saunas were shut down years ago, I have seen a couple advertised on TG. Seems shady and quite expensive compared with the old saunas, so I won't be trying anytime soon. And though I don't have any precise addresses, there are massage places in the Pudong / Nanpu areas offering HJ if you pick the right one.
