Emmanuelle was previously in serious decline with seemingly not enough business to sustain it. The real estate is valuable so not sure what will happen to old Amsterdam location.

Last time I was at Amsterdam I did see scaffolding but did not think anything much.

I guess if Amsterdam can retain its old clients and Emannuelle clients in the new combined location, it may be workable. Sale of Amsterdam could well cover costs to buy Emannuelle and renovate.

I also read that Colonze 2 became Ocean Entertainment and was enhanced. Might be worth a visit since I did not go there for years now.

I decided to check her out this evening. She looks the same as in the Halloween photos on the Mango website but older. In particular the crow's feet which are just a little bit noticeable in those photos are much more noticeable in real life. She must be in her 30's. I find Emmy and View at Snow White, who are similar ages and also without babies, more attractive. So I decided to go there instead but none of the rooms were free. High season has definitely arrived in Sukhumvit so I think it's to time to check out the Ratchada soapies again.

However she worked Annies quite a few years ago when she was just 18 or 19 she says.

Emmy has the nose job and broader face actually to my eye but definitely a better looker at SW than most.

I'm no psychologist but it's as if she wants to shed her old skin leave her past behind and become somebody else, a sort of split personality I guess you could say. She admits she looks a little like the old Bonus but says the old Bonus was skinnier and didn't have a tattoo. On this visit she was sad and melancholic and while professional enough to go through her routine the buzz was missing. She talked a lot and at one stage strangely started to reminisce about the "other Bonus" referring to her in the third person, how much money she used to make, how many bookings she had, how many customers wanted to marry her. This is one complicated lady. Thing is I must be a little odd also because I really enjoy her company.

The other thing I forgot to report from Mango is that when they were waving the menu at me I was surprised to see a 500 baht surcharge for A+. There's something like a XXXX option which included nuru and the 500 baht A+ surcharge. Unless Snow White and Cherry also start charging extra for A+ it seems the A+ Mango girls are going to lose a lot of customers. Why pay 500 baht extra when a 5 minute walk takes you to more A+ options without a surcharge?

Print it, preferable laminate it too, and your "tariff" suddenly becomes official and binding and no longer open for discussion or negotiation.

I second that for trick #1. Getting a taxi at MNL they also try this with a chart which is nuts. Taxi to Batangas (port for getting to Sebang for scuba) should run 2500-3000 Peso. Their "chart" says something like 6 k. This year when they yanked that out I just laughed and said not my first time, don't bother.

I think trick #2 is, "Oh that is closed today, or last boat / train / bus already leave" but can take you here.

My suspicion is that biz is off and they are trying to make up for it with the surcharge. It won't work. As a matter of fact, I went to Bamboo once right after it opened, was hit with the surcharge and never went back.
