If I run into a problem with a girl, I am allowed to switch girls, I don't ask for a refund because that makes them lose face, I just change girls. I have bought gifts from my home country or given tips to the Manager or Madam, so I am a good customer in their eyes, they also tell the girls I am a good person, and they must offer good service.

If you see someone getting stupid would you get involved? I learned to walk away from someone raising his voice at a Thai person, the Thais don't need to understand a different language, tone of voice and body language can get someone beaten up.
The staff at the Soi's will tolerate quite a bit because they don't want any trouble there, they simply moved the guy along.
Same as parking a motorbike with a helmet and walking away from it, they actually keep an eye on it for you, they really don't want trouble.

Yes, if I see someone getting into a jam I will intervene, if it is early enough to do so, and try to calm the situation down to help make sure he doesn't get himself beaten up. My friends would do the same. We have a heart and balls. I was in a Soi Cowboy bar once night and nearly pulled money out of my pocket because some farang was getting all worked up about his tab.
