When I first came to Thailand I did all of my immigration work myself. I have actually made land border runs. Each time I did one, when I returned I received 30 day stay under a visa exemption when I returned.

Old age, drive old cars, and share the same investment philosophy: "Only sell if you must or have something that promises a better return". Everybody's needs and reasons for buying / selling are different. I divested all of my gold and silver bullion months ago (when gold was still at over 5000). Since I had bought it at 2200, I cashed out. Put most into a handful of different stocks. I never look down the horse's throat. (However, I do look down a ho's throat to see if she really swallowed. LOL).

Gold could go way past it's ATH at 5589.38 next year. This current dip is a correction. Central Banks are still buying gold at record levels. I don't sell hard assets for worthless fiat paper. Never seen Warren Buffet brag about the price he sold something on a forum for International Tricks in my entire life.

In the Dominican Republic Threads I made a post that suggested that the Dominican Government needs to add SMRs. I was clowned for it by the so called [I]respected members[/I] posting there (some of whom no longer post). Now it is my turn to address the issue for Thailand. Today in the Bangkok Post there was an article about SMR's.

I decided to close my long position on Gold Spot and Silver Spot until the Fed makes it decision.
Still long in physical Thai Gold and Silver.
Last night after the Fed announced the 25 basis point interest rate hike (the cost of short term money) DXY was a beast. 1 hour straight up. Peaked at 100.361. The effects were immediately seen in gold and silver. Both took a tumble. I went long on the dip.
The USD has grown stronger against the THB moving up to 1 USD to 33.33 THB (Xe Rate). Even the retail rate has moved over 33 THB to 1 USD.
Thai Gold is at Sell 68100 Buy 67900.
We all know and love Pattaya as well as Bangkok as the heavy hitters for mongering in Thailand. But for my next trip, I'm thinking of spending time in a smaller less chaotic but still decent secondary market. I did Chiang Mai last trip and was pleased with two different massage / nuru places I visited in that town. Walked through the beer bar complex with the Thai boxing ring but did not pull from there. So next trip I'm wondering among Hua Hin, Udon Thani and Koh Samui, which one of these three would you guys consider to be the best secondary mongering scene?

I liked it as a middle ground between Bangkok (big and dirty) and Pattaya (ground zero).

I f you don't like it than a short trip to Koh Samui.

Remember that Koh Samui has 5 separate areas, 2 in Chaweng and 3 in Lamai. Neither place has quality girls to match the top Bangkok places. Quality wise, I put Samui, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai all about equal. Not many stunners in any of those places.
I cannot compare to Udon Thani, I've never been there.
Traveling between Hua Hin and Koh Samui is a pain in the neck. No direct flights and land options are a combination of bus routes, ferry, and taxi. Is there a direct ferry between Hua Hin and Samui? I think it existed at one time but was discontinued some time ago.
