Bkk
You didn't say which airport, but if you fly into Don Muang you can take an airport express bus to Mo Chit bus station and get a bus from there to Pattaya.
BKK is Suvarnabhumi Airport.
Don Muean Airport is DMK.
So I think he gave the correct information in his questions and have got the correct answers below.
But I can also recomed Mr. T taxi. He will do the trip for 1000 Baht (30.78 USD) and will wait if the flight is delayed, last year my flight was 3 hour delayed but his guy was there. For booking: mr_ttaxi@hotmail.com
The other bus company is Bell Travel Service: http://www.belltravelservice.com/pages/PageHome.aspx.
+1 for Bell Travel Service. They are professional and reliable, and their door to door service is well worth the few extra baht.

Not sure where it drops you off in Pattaya, but it is express. You can find a video on You Tube that explains and shows where you get it; departs BKK on the hour.
Could you post a link for this article? Any reason for this spate of raids?
I believe these are all after hour joints with an abundance of drug activity. I'm usually in bed with a bargirl by the time Walking Street opens to traffic.

Mr. T taxi left me stranded last time at DMK so that I took the free shuttle to BKK and the bus from there. (Call that cheap charlie Nixonbd if you like but at least I got there).

Los
The issue many Indians would face (this includes me as well) is finding "a token white guy" to enter the Go-Gos and clubs. Becoming a "rockstar" by getting a Korean or Japanese to tag along seems even more far-fetched, LOLzz. Some people have it so easy in LOS and some of us don't.
I actually am curious how this stereotype of discriminating against us has gotten ingrained in the general psyche (i.e. which fools are responsible for creating this general impression) and also ways of mitigating it. Bangkok is at least a tad bit better when it comes to the clubs and Go-Gos, there money talks and bullshit walks (exceptions do remain). What's up with Pats?
This is my 1st post.
What is LOS? Land of Sin?
thanks for the link jgm005. very strange for them to selectively shut down a few gogos, when walking street has so many other gogos. will need to get an update from fellow traveller's if this has affected (several other "closure notices" is worrying) things on the ground in a big way or made things better for the fl market!
not to make light of these raids but this happens in pattaya from time to time. with the coup and martial law stuff it comes down to basically a power trip to show who is in charge or who is to get the tea money? when you been here for a while this is what they do! as for these specific places being closed as mentioned there are specific reasons. they are not going down w. s. and checking on every single place. as for lucifer as reported by mr. e, it was because of a fight by the bouncers on two customers and as a punishment they decided to give [CodeWord140] test to the customers. when it comes to drugs in my opinion you can pick random any one after hour club like ibar / insomia, lucifer, mixx, 808, etc. and you will catch someone so it is not strange at all nor should you be worried if you have nothing to be guilty about? as for lucifer they screw up first by jumping on the customer and then they screwed up again by trying to open a few days later without permission so the forces in charged came down harder on them to show them who is in charge simple?
as for the go go's there is a like a unwritten rule that they need to play. everyone pays tea money. so the playing field is level? these go go were raided it was reported they had **** girls working doing this at the worse time while martial law was in affect.
right now! imho the puppet i call him the general in charge has been instructed clean up the country and let the world see they know what they are doing. in the end, it is meaningless and business will go back to business which is the same old same old it is just another cycle.

thanks to w and you for the analysis on the recent closures. so long as the cleanliness drive of the general / puppet does not come in the way of my trip (early next month), i don't care if they order a few more drug related or **** issues based closures. at least, so long as most establishments remain open for business (which is the only reason we travel to los) i am not worried that a few of them close down.

ALSO IN July IN Pattaya
Need information on how to take the bus from BKK to Pattaya. Flying into BKK next Monday June 30 and going to Pattaya plan is to spend the month of July in Pattaya. Any information on how to take the bus from the airport would be appreciated.
Chris
I shall be also as from 5th July for one month in Pattaya.
I reserved first at Basaya beach hotel for 3 nights (I need a good swimming pool but also good wifi and quietness). If OK I stay, if better somewhere else in the 1000 Bt range I move.
1°) I had no time to read all your posts but I observe we have complementary experiences: I do not know your usual countries; you do not know mine. If you look at my posts, you will find Madagascar (the best mongering place for me) ; Thailand (Isaan region Udon thani, I was in 2012) ; Laos (2012); Paraguay. You can read if you want to know me better.
2°) I highly appreciated your post 07-08-2013 on Pattaya as it is exactly informative posts I like to read. Your explanations are perfect; it is exactly all the various places I want to discover, even if I think SOI 6 and Beach Road freelances might be my cup of tea. (One of my friend is a "regular" of Pattaya, just back in Paris, but your technical post is more than perfect.).
3°) I am French.
Coclusion:
I do no have yet a Thai SIM card.
I would willingly meet you if you wish.
Just give me your phone number on this site as from 5 July.

Udonthani
Some of my best experiences have been in these kind of cheap, sleazy, local places. People on these forums often warn that local-style brothels are dangerous and foreigners aren't welcome but my experience is that they're fine if common sense is applied. For example I have been to the Dolly brothels in Surubaya (Indonesia) and Jonquera in Cebu (Philippines), little more than a slum, and was wary after reading similar reports on this forum. However I didn't feel theatened at all. The locals looked at me like a curiosity but they were actually pretty friendly. Just because large groups of local men gather doesn't make them dangerous. I would add as a disclaimer that common sense must be applied in these kind of places. Don't flash the cash and certainly don't act like some kind of hot-shot. Smile, enjoy yourself, be friendly and the locals will happily let you get on with it.
Same opinion for me.
I was never afraid in Lao brothels of Udonthani (cf my posts ISAAN region) and to collect girls in same place in Luang Prabang (Laos posts).
-
My experience has always been the slumier the brothel the shittier the service.

Chris
A bit too late, but interesting for others, too:
For the "Cheapest Charly" www.pattayabus.com They have a counter on level 1 gate 8, in BKK.
However, they do no advance booking via internet. Bus runs about every 1-1. 5 h during daytime.
As I am a "Cheap Charly", I use.
www.belltravelservice.com
About 230 BHT, incl. Transfere from bus station in Pattaya to hotel, in a van. And advance booking via internet.
