Amorn Electronic Center Spare Part Company Limited
Amorn. A buddy of mine fried his clippers and the guy replaced the capacitor in a couple of seconds and got him the correct transformer (one that I had searched all over Pattaya and the net in the USA for to no avail) for like 100 baht total.
Go in the front door of Tukcom, then take the escalator down to the lower level. Turn right and Amorn is around the corner.
This place is rather like a hardware store crossed with a consumer electronics emporium, with a little flea market mixed in. As noted above, if you need one of those transformers that converts 220-240 volt current to 110-120 volts you can find it at Amorn, along with adapters to use any style of electrical plug in any style socket. Amorn is also good for prosaic stuff you might need like extension cords, batteries, household items etc. This is handy if you're staying in a condo or serviced apartment and you need this or that to make you life more comfortable.
Directly across the halls from Amorn is a small supermarket, so you can combine trips. There is a small food court on the lower level too. It's very basic, but the food is almost as cheap as eating on the street. It's a nice option if you're already at Tukcom, or if it's raining and you want to eat indoors.
Bunky.
