It usually works out to be less expensive than a cab and it has the added benefit that you don't have to check the meter for those like you that find it too challenging.

Posts: 5608Really? For 2 weeks you've been yapping like a little puppy about me having lunch with people and then mention you won't be having lunch with "dudes" and it's not a candy ass remark from some broke ass bitchboy? Uh-huh.

Posts: 1194I know how to use In-Driver. Only a douch like you would have problems understanding a simple English sentence. Not successful using an app indicates the result was not what was expected. You are the one who asked "What does the meter say? I pointed out that some taxi drivers don't use the meter all the time.

Posts: 1005Over half of the active pharmaceutical ingredients used to make "American drugs" are made in China and India, with more coming from China. The fact is that most finished prescription drugs sold in USA Pharmacies are manufactured in facilities located all over the world, but very few in China.

Since 2010, FDA leadership has stated that 40% of finished medications and 80% of the active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) used to make all finished pharmaceuticals sold in the USA Are foreign made.

Stop trying the Jedi mind tricks. No matter how much you suggest some other dudes should have you on their minds, it will only work on your lunch buddies.
There is nothing in this post that says JjBabbleOn, but I guess the glass slipper fitted, so you slid it on your foot.

Posts: 810Why would I read your posts in the Cartagena thread since I live in Medellin.

Posts: 5608Whenever I'm around Parque Lleras, looking for a taxi, I walk down to Parque Poblado and grab the first taxi in line. I've done that at all hours, except when it's really late and they're all gone. I've never seen one from there with the meter off, although I have seen some who hadn't reset the meter.

I've found Uber to be hit or miss. It gets annoying watching rides get 2 minutes away and cancel.
During the hours when they're available and I'm traveling by myself I am usually fine with grabbing a bus or the Metro, but that's not a popular choice when you're taking a girl back to your place.

Posts: 810If you aren't making sure the meter is turned on and reset to the starting price, and you can't figure out how to use InDriver. Maybe you should "wonder" about your own intelligence.

Posts: 1194I have to wonder as Elvis does if you are talking about Colombia. If it is raining, and late at night, there are cabbies around Parque Lleras who turn off their meters. Then they quote some ridiculous fare. That is, if the rider notices the meter. If not, at the end of the trip is when the encounter occurs.

Posts: 5608You keep saying that, but you don't seem to be doing it. You said you were too busy fucking to mess with me and all anyone saw was you trying to mess with me. And we all know about Rio de Janeiro. You literally couldn't walk down the street without stopping to take pictures because you were thinking about me.

Anyone want to start a betting pool? We can bet on how many mentions or references MsE makes about me compared to the number of women he specifically describes fucking. One question though. When he refers to me and fucking a woman in the same post, how do we count that?

Posts: 5608There are a couple of simple solutions to the problem.

For taxis with meters, when you get in check the meter to be sure it's reset. I've run into this a few times in Medellin. I'll point it out and the driver will reset it. Once the taxi is moving, keep an eye on the meter. If it suddenly jumps, the driver is manipulating the meter.
Some meters run faster than others and you might pay a little more. Usually it's only a dollar or less, not a big deal.
For awhile I was taking 10 taxis or more per week and maybe 1 out of 20 we're trying to cheat me. Most often I was taking the same trips so I knew how much I should be paying. 7400 pesos instead of 6800 pesos never seemed worth ruining my day over.

Posts: 810Except that Elvis didn't post his "rip-off" experiences in the Cartagena thread he posted them in the Medellin thread and he didn't even attribute his experiences (if they are real) to Cartagena. This leads prospective visitors to Medellin to imagine all sorts of threats that really don't exist (except in his mind).
