There's a huge difference between pay for programmers depending on skills. Unfortunately, it's not always consistent. From my programming days I remember remarking "what idiot wrote this" on several occasions, only to find out the idiot was one of the big bosses.

The pay difference doesn't always make sense for prostitutes either. There are some who lack the looks and lack the skills, but want the higher price. There are also some, although harder to find, who have looks and skills, but are working for much less.

Maybe it's just my experience, but none of that is true, at least not 100% of the time.
