Posts: 118At last someone who understands that there has not been any 50-100 % inflation in Thailand during covid. Its price increases because they want to make more money from tourists, nothing else. Thank you!

It did not used to be like that, prices used to be lower and more in line with what they ask from thaimen.
I can also go to Pattaya without breaking my entire bank account but I clearly see when they are setting special touristprices.
I add a little picture for you here so you can se the differance between what thais pay and what you pay.

Posts: 720Exactly. The level of mongering inflation shouldn't be double. Doesn't make sense. That's why I don't pay it and why as Explorer commented, I go to Thailand in low season for better pricing. At this point it seems like this EverythingThai commenter has a stake in bars on Soi 6 given the way he defends it.

Posts: 7970How do you know which ones are the unserious snacks?
Are you sure these latest ones are the unserious snarky ones and the earlier ones about buying 40 Lady Drinks for a Soi 6 bargirl and slipping an extra 100 baht note for her under each drink were not the ones where he was only kidding around?

Posts: 5459Yeah, Thai bars are different because sometimes Thai husbands will show up to buy drinks for their wives, or sometimes just to watch.

As far as I know, the Agogo's are not too happy? Or the punters are skipping WS? IMHO, there is always a good time to go to Thailand.

Posts: 5459Prices on Soi 6 and the gogos are impacted by the Korean 2 week millionaires. Inflation is not a factor.
And impacted soon by the lonely guys who go home and send money to "their" bargirl.

Posts: 18757Of course inflation is existent in Pattaya, but 100% inflation is not existent. The price of what has doubled besides hookers, bars, and the tax that the government put on cigarettes? One company (I think it was Chang) tried to go up on their bottled water prices and the government told them they could cancel that idea.

Because the price of my 4500 baht room has not moved 1 baht in 15 years and I am sure inflation would affect the seller that is my landlord.

Posts: 5459Reports at this time come during High Season, when there is maximum demand for ladies. Pro tip: don't come to Pattaya during High Season, unless you are prepared to spend a lot of money.
Prices quoted here will be much lower after Songkran.

How long are you coming for? You might want to book a short time in Jomtien, to see how it works for you. I have been staying in Jomtien. At first I like it, then I soon get sick of travelling up to Pattaya. Takes longer than you think. Bolt motorcycles feel like death race 2000. My ST PSE requests an extra 100 from Pattaya and I pay it. Most girls want ST these days, and so won't want to travel far, as they want to get back to the bar. Unless it is late at night and they live here.

It is a long way from Soi6. You could stay in Wongamat which is lovely, quiet at night and easier commute to Soi6.

Posts: 403Warning. Only for those of you who deal with girls who have bfs and husband's.
Be careful. Last night You tuber Slightly Homeless. Good looking young guy was at a Thai Bar. He thinks he is a Casanova,. Apparently the Thai Boys weren't amused. Surrounded him and Knocked his Camera out of his Hand.
Luckily someone not Thai got involved and may have saved his life.
I didn't see it but heard about it.

Posts: 5459For sure, you are not going to find consistent pricing in a collection of bars.

I'll be in Pattaya for three weeks in March (as well as 10 days in Philippines), diary incoming.
I've trawled back 100 pages but haven't found a lot of info about the new beer bar complex where Soi Made in Thailand used to be, I think it's called Myth. Any good? Does it have consistent barfine prices or is it all over the place like Tree Town?

Posts: 846Keep your place in Jomtien and book a cheap hotel ($20-$25) near the Soi you prefer. That way she doesn't know what you have going on in Jomtien.
