Any Expats in BKK with advice

I'm looking for a tolerable area to relocate to from the USA. Condos around Asoke look ok but not sure how life would be after a few months. Any advice or recommendations appreciated. I've been to Thailand a couple of times but only for a few weeks, and not sure how it would be after a few months. The islands seem overdeveloped. PM me or post if you have thoughts or if there is an expat forum somewhere. Thanks!

    Stan.

This is 1 million percent live on Monday. However the DTV will not be implemented quite yet as Immigration are still working through the kinks. Hopefully Monday they will announce the specifics.

Today's lady helped me out. She had 500 baht in small bills that she needed to deposit in her bank account, so I took her cash, and transferred 500 baht to her bank account.
I just goto the grocery store. I always buy whatever I need with a 1000 THB note. Get the change. When I am at the bank I give them a 1000 THB note. They give me change.

Have a completely different idea of what a struggle is. For me a struggle is getting a girl here to swallow my cum, letting me blast my splooge into their ass or even taking it in the ass in the first damn place. No ass, No ass, No ass must be a Thai song. LOL!.

Good to know I'll look into this. At only 10,000 baht per year and really no reporting since I would never stay in Thailand for one year straight this seems like the right Visa for me.

I can qualify as a retired person with no provable monthly income at all?
Sorry if I wasn't clear. I had to qualify for the LTR visa with proof of annual income and health insurance coverage. But after qualifying and receiving the visa there are no additional requirements like my OA visa had. No 800,000 baht in the bank or monthly deposits and no 90 day reporting. I seldom had to do a 90 day report anyway because I travel more often than that.

Yes I really did get an LTR visa. I was surprised by the 5 year stay that has to be renewed. I said I wasn't sure about any additional cost. They told me I had to renew after 5 years, I didn't ask about the cost but I bet there will be some fee.

I think the renewal is required so they can revalidate that I continue to meet all of the requirements and so they can collect another 50,000 baht for another 5 year stay. LTR has strings attached.

    Simple solution to VISA issues.

    Everyone gets 30 days.

After that $200 /$300 . Per month up to 10 month max on a calendar year. You get to choose your subscription.

So brilliant it will never be implemented.

The poors won't be able to afford. Win for Thailand.

The elite who have money can stay and Spend. Win Thailand.

    Prompt Pay

So Prompt Pay extended to Singapore, HK, and Japan earlier this year. Having accounts in these places its obviously more attractive to keep my money in the account for better exchange rates and security. Businesses and bars would obviously not have any problem accepting it.

So my question is, have any of you had any experience in paying the girls with prompt pay? I'm guessing they would accept it, but would they like to see cash instead?

    Cheers.
